He was pacing the trailer and biting his thumbnail. Luckily, Wayne was at work, or he’d have to hear about wearing a hole in the linoleum. He took a cold shower, telling himself to get a grip; he was just some guy. Chill out.
Maybe a beer and doom scrolling could distract him, but he found himself opening his messages every few minutes just to check. He dropped the phone on the couch next to him and sighed deeply. Just when he was gonna give up and go relieve his own tension, his phone buzzed.
“I’m thinking about you, am I crazy?”
Eddie nearly squealed and felt his cheeks burn with how widely he was smiling.
“Good, and yes.”
