Can I?

Summary:

Solangelo vampire/high school/soulmate AU. The usual soulmate thing, when you turn 15, your soulmate can see any injuries or any writing on your skin. There is a lot of other supernatural stuff later in this fic, and it will get spicy, so if you think it should be labeled mature let me know. I don't know how long it's gonna be, and I might not update it often IDK. They will swear(or at least Nico will) so if that's a no-no, speak now or forever hold your silence.
All characters belong to Uncle Rick

Chapter 1: First Contact(ish)

Chapter Text

NdA POV

He woke up screaming. Screaming in the old empty house, empty of everything except memories. Oh, and him, but Nico didn't count himself, cursed, horrible creature that he was.

The memories surged up, trying–and almost succeeding–to turn him into a sobbing wreck. But he beat them down, piece by stabbing piece, so he could get out of bed, and go to school. After all, he did have a test today.

On his way to school, he pulled up his hood. He didn't seem to burn to ashes in the sun, but he did burn incredibly easily, and he didn't feel like dealing with a sunburn today, even though he deserved it. Scrolling through his playlist, he popped in an earbud and chose the most depressing song he could find.

He got to his class just as the bell rang, and noticed someone new, a blond kid, with more freckles than anyone had a right to have, waking in right behind him. Ha, I should stay away, or I'll ruin that sunny aesthetic of his.

Walking to his seat in the back, he sat down and pulled out a pen, only to be greeted with the teacher's voice, much too cheery for this early in the morning. "As some of you might have noticed, we have a new student today. Would everybody please welcome Will Solace!"

Nico glanced up, actually looking at the new boy for the first time, and all his thoughts flew out of his head. Fuck he's hot.

Looking down quickly, he started to doodle on his arm, idly drawing a pair of fangs so realistic that they looked like they were digging into his arm. It was fitting, he thought, that he would wear them on his arm when he also wore them in his mouth. Confronting the fact, the thought that he would never die, never even age beyond his twentieth birthday, he was struck by the realization that today was his fifteenth. That meant that his soulmate(if he even had one, he probably didn't, he didn't deserve one) would now be able to see anything he drew on his skin, or any injuries he got. Well, injuries are out of the question. I heal way too fast for that.

Still drawing on his arm, he drew a heart, not one of those cartoonish ones, but a human heart, dripping with blood. As he kept drawing, he slowly came to the realization that he was hungry. Not hungry for food. He could feel his fangs coming out.

Shit. Shitshitshit.

Why was today the day he forgot to grab breakfast? Pulling out his water bottle, he took a quick sip, hoping to distract himself. Casting his thoughts around, they landed on the sun boy, the new one. Nico found himself thinking about how the boy–Will–had freckles that looked like constellations. How they reminded him of a starry sky. Also how he wanted to trace them with his fangs, and how he would taste...Stop it! He yelled at himself. You're not helping.

~~~
Class dragged on, and Nico could pay absolutely no attention. Will was sitting right in front of him, and Nico was tracing the freckles on the back of Will's neck with his eyes. When the bell rang, Nico jumped from his seat, fleeing the room so he wouldn't have to endure the scent of human blood, more than that, Will's blood. It was overwhelming, and if he stayed much longer, he might start to lose control.
