"Mmh, Diana.."
".."
"I'm so surprised you're giving me a ride!"
".."
"..and happy. Very happy.."
"!" Diana's body barely stiffens .. and, to her misfortune, Akko notices .. and makes a small smile, which immediately becomes wider and smarter, immediately after having spoken the next words.
"..but above all surprise!"
".."
".."
"Akko."
"Tell me.."
"There's something I feel compelled to tell you."
"Just tell me, then." Akko replies, giving her a slight snag with her arms, almost encouraging. Daina is in front of Akko, and Akko, to keep and not fall from the broom, has her own arms leaning against Diana's hips.
".."
"Eh? Did I do something again?" Akko asks her, with innocently questioning expression, her head slightly bent to the side.
Diana sighs, embarrassed.. hoping the other girl won't notice.
"I'm grateful for what you've done for me." Diana tells her, the voice almost reduced to a whisper.. and her face slightly red.
".."
".."
"Eh? I-I don't believe it. You what? YOU WHAT?"
"..I won't say it a second time."
".."
".."
"..repeat it."
".."
"Please! The first time I couldn't hear! Say it another time!"
"I said no."
"But just one more time, come on!"
"If I said no, it's no!"
"Come on, don't be shy!"
".."
Akko makes a face halfway between the sad and the angry.
"...Diana."
"No."
"Di-"
"If you insist I'll make you walk back!"
".."
".."
"..then I'll tickle you!"
"Akko.. do it and I'll throw you out of the broom."
"No, you won't."
"Yes, instead."
"No."
"Do you want to see?"
"Diana, you can't and you won't."
"Ah yes?"
"Yes. Look."
"Wha-"
Diana gets stuck before she can finish talking. The mouth wide open from the surprise.
Akko took her arms off her hips and hugged her.. HUGGED HER... and she lasted her head on her shoulder.
And she sighed.
She sighed almost like a girl in love arguing with her girlfriend.
And then she inspired. She inspired her smell. The smell of Diana.
"Oh no." she thinks, worried, Diana.. because now she hears it.
She feels the heat of Akko's body pressed against her body. Her breath on her neck; the hair of both of them mixing with each other..
She feels the weight of Akko's arms and head. A pleasant, reassuring weight.
She smells it.. although the wind, at the speed at which the girls are flying, should disperse it.
But above all, Diana feels something inside her heart and inside her stomach... and... blushes, without even being able to think about where else she feels something.
Akko lifts her head, and brings her mouth closer to Diana's ear.
"..you can't do it, because you care too much about me.. exactly as I care too much about you." she concludes, in a very low and sweet voice, Akko.
Diana doesn't answer, and Akko doesn't take any other initiatives.
The rest of the journey continues in a library-like silence.
Once they land, the girls just look embarrassed, fix their hair or uniform.
After that, they head to the dorms, and both have red faces..
..and hearts beating madly.
