Work Text:
Kiera hooked her arm through Daenora’s as they walked. It was good, seeing her at ease. It was like the further they got from the keep, the more the weight lifted off her. She came alive in the quiet night, it seemed. Maybe it was the peace, maybe it was knowing that they were leaving it all behind. More probably it was both. There was no greater knowledge than that. They were owed a little peace, with both of them widowed. They had both given enough. Out here, in the chill of the night, there were no eyes on them. No whispers, no grasping hands. Just them, and the sky.
