Apollo Shall Fall, But Apollo Must Rise Once Again

Summary:

My arms felt like mush, tiring, weakening. The battle with python was tough. I honestly had no idea how I was still handing on, dear reader. But thinking for sure, I don't think I would pull through.

Chapter 1: He who fell, but did not rise again

Chapter Text

Oh I'm gonna die,
I am sorry everyone,
But thanks, your's truly-

Falling into chaos.
In all my four thousand and something years, I never thought that was how I would die. Actually, I never really thought I would die in the first place. The perks of being an immortal god I suppose, you never really have to worry about or fear death.

My arms felt like mush, tiring, weakening. The battle with Python was tough. I honestly had no idea how I was still handing on, dear reader. But knowing for sure, I don't think I would pull through.

I regret to say it, but I think The Arrow of Dodona was wrong. "Apollo shall fall, but Apollo shall rise once again,". Hah, if only he could see me now.

I wonder if anyone would miss me. Meg and Leto, definitely. Artemis? Perhaps. Hermes? Eh, we had a bit of a rocky start. Zeus, though? I don't think Zeus would. Scratch that, I know he wouldn't at all.

My fingers slipped, one by one, untill only three fingers held me up on that ledge somehow. It's a Christmas miracle, despite it being nowhere near Christmas yet. I chuckled, wanting to feel some sort of amusement before the inevitable.

Another finger slipped. Two left. My mind flashed past every memory I had, and as an immortal, there were quite a lot of memories. My sister. My mother. My father, the bolts. My lovers, Daphne, Hyacinthus, and so, so many more. My children, at Camp Half Blood and Camp Jupiter. My legacies. My grandson at Camp Jupiter, Pranjal. Perseus Jackson, Sally Jackson, Paul Blofis, Estelle Blofis who was still yet to conquer the world with her giggles.

Slip. One last finger left holding me up. I closed my eyes, feeling blood run down my various wounds. Deep wounds. I felt the venom from Python burning in my veins. I felt my clothes, that had been long since torn into rags, cling to me. I felt chaos yawing beneath my dangling form.

Slip. My finger gave out. I fell.
I'm sorry. Thank you all for helping me, even you dear reader.
Goodbye.
Your's truly, Apollo/Lester Papadopoulos.
