Due to popular demands, I'm (Marsfromlit from post #1030) making a new post here about Prof Choi and Jeong from Lit Grad and their shennanigan in staff room and office. Yesterday, I was minding my own business in the break room while sipping coffee, sleep deprived after spending my night grading students paper. Prof Choi was sitting on the table there, eating some cheap sandwich from the 7/11 near the admin office, looking as exhausted as me. Barely a minute later, Jeong literally burst into the room with a decaffeinated coffee and some weird craving food (I think it was a donut sprinkle with black pepper and some pickles dipped in peanut butter. Don't ask more.) and begin feeding Prof Choi while fussing over him and well, let's just say I ended up thirdwheeling them until Prof Kim drag Jeong out for a lecture for skipping the seminar to buy Zeus with his not bf and daughter.

It's been a few weeks since our whole uni have been talking about Prof Choi from Art and Jeong sunbae from Lit. I don't really care much about gossips and this forum here but ever since I read post #1024, I always got this strange feeling like I've seen them together before, way before this whole thing started. I finally found out why and Prof Choi agree to let me share it so get ready for some lore drop ya'll. Last night, I was working on a night shift at a convenience store near the uni, right next to the apartments where most lecturers, grad students and outside living students stays at. It was late, around 3 in the morning I think, when Prof Choi walk in, all alone. I was shocked, obviously, since Jeong sunbae are practically his shadow ever since he got pregnant but he laugh and said that he knows sunbae has been working very hard these days so he doesn't want to wake him up for a midnight craving. I watched him shop for a while and then I spot him looking at the umbrella stand even though it wasn't raining. That's when it clicked for me though. For context, I'm also a grad student, not in the same department as sunbae but I'm just a year below him. I remember vividly years ago, back when I was in my 1st year and Jeong sunbae was in his 2nd year, being the cashier when he came during an afternoon shift. He bought an umbrella bcs it suddenly starts raining. We weren't close but he blurt out that he was short on cash that day and even buying those stuff are taking up his budget… When he left, I notice someone taking shelter in front of the shop after running from another place with a baby. Sunbae didn't even hesitate and hands over his umbrella before rushing off into uni with only his hood up. The person with the baby was Prof Choi.

The rain was just one of his many misfortunes, really.
San sighs as he pats himself in a futile attempt to somehow dry himself off before checking on his little girl, Minji. She's babbling happily, delighted and curious eyes tracking the raindrop falling from the sky even as San gently pats her head and body, relief that at the very least she is mostly dry.
They both can't get sick at the moment, not when San can't even afford a convenience store umbrella.
Minji babbles again, kicking her little feets and wiggling in his hold as she try to reach for the falling droplets.
San, despite everything, couldn't help but smile, pulling her closer to him as she continues to giggle. He's wearing a hoodie so there's not much of a warmth he can offer to her right now except for his own body heat, though she doesn't seem to mind.
His little light— his sunshine amidst the storm.
His life feels exactly like that these days, a constant storm trying to swallow him and his sweet little girl. Between Minji's… father, his family's declining financial state and his own fragile health after giving birth to the little angel, San hasn't had a single space to even catch a breath.
Another sigh.
He's exhausted.
Ding!
San startles, turning to see the door of the convenience store behind him opening. A man steps out, a student judging by his backpack, wearing a dark blue hoodie, jeans and a pair of glasses while carrying a transparent cheap umbrella. He seems to notice San after lifting his head from his phone, smiling as his eyes move between him and little Minji in his arms.
"Ah," The student blinks, his smile dropping slightly. "Are… You stranded here?"
San hesitates, though he ended up nodding because, well, it is true. He just planned to take a small walk and go back home after with Minji to clear his head— he didn't expect it to start raining out of nowhere.
The man chuckles as San finishes his little lamenting before handing out his hand that is holding the transparent convenience store umbrella.
"… What is it?" San asked, confused.
"Take it." He shook the umbrella slightly, shrugging. "I don't need it."
"What? No… no, I can't-"
"I insist." He beams and San could've sworn the rain seems to slow down slightly. "My destination is closed. You two should take this and go home. Especially…"
He steps forward, San have to keep himself from flinching, and taps Minji's nose gently with his finger, making her giggle and wiggle in place even more. "With this little princess with you. Wouldn't want you two to get sick, hm?"
San gapes at him without doing anything, frozen in confusion. The man's smile soften as he gently pressed the umbrella into his hand. "Stay dry, Hyung. I need to go now so be careful on your way."
"Wait-!"
He turn around and pull his hood up before rushing off into the university in front of them, rain falling relentlessly onto his broad shoulders and soaking him in no time.
However, the student didn't even turn to look, not a single hesitation or regret in his steps as he rushes off. San watch him until he disappears from his sight, vision turning a little blurry while Minji continues to coo in his arms.
Suddenly, the rain doesn't feel like a misfortune anymore.
