Summary
The Kyrios had a problem. In fact, they had three problems: starting with an ugly omega son they loathed and had spent a decade trying to marry out of their family, and ending with two equally bad suitors. Between a minor noble with close to no money or honor and an up-and-coming foreign soldier, the noble at least was from the right nation. The soldier had a prince’s support, a new household, and so little interest in the omega that when it came down to courting him, he seemed to prefer hiding in the stables like a common worker.
Evander of Kyrios knew his place. Choosing the alpha who was going to mate and breed him wasn’t it, but even he could see both choices were hopeless.
The catch was, the soldier had a secret he was hiding—a secret so precarious that it made even Evander’s position look safer. Bargaining for a less uncertain future was too daring of his part, but when the soldier thought they could find a mutually beneficial solution to their situation, a partnership was struck.
Now, if only Evander’s parents would ever allow him to marry a foreigner.
