Summary
For a moment, Alastor doesn't recognize the soul chain around his neck, nor the caged power he once wielded. He wonders whether this persistent sensation of burning, heaviness, and familiarity is the closest he'll ever get to dying again. And yet, Vox is right there, isn't he? With his ridiculous proposal and all the pathetic admiration that he remembers having shattered once before.
The world, stupidly, is giving him a second chance! So, he decides to do what any demon would do to make it considerably more entertaining.
