Work Text:
Sometimes, a big decision doesn't need big preparations. A little time alone together, lots of love and a some pretty jewellery, then Mualani's knee on the ground and a faint discourse about wanting to always be in love, being with one another until death, when no never was an option.
They've been wanting this, for so long. They lived so much, desping being from different regions. They shared cultures, traditions, happiness as much as sadness, and a marriage would only be an excuse to celebrate their indefinite love. Kokomi interrupted her love, a deep kiss speaking louder than words.
“There was no need to ask. I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”
Her hands on her now fiancée cheeks, she rested her forehead against the other’s in the comfortable silence, eyes closed. She opened her eyes when her hand was moved, to find Mulani crying. Her hand tenderly put the ring on Kokomi's finger, as delicately as if she was touching gold.
The priestess pulled her lover into a tight hug, filling ears with whispered sweets words of reassurance.
“I don't know what I'd do without you.”
Mulani's voice was surprisingly weak.
“You'd find me again.”
