A cool breeze. One cold enough to combat that summer sun shining above them all. A little groan of the stomach and a wince at that bright star in the sky. Luffy’s tongue was sneaking out of his mouth, getting ready to complain as he always does. “Sanjiiiiii…” He rolled out the cook's name.
Sanji already knew what was coming. “Fine, Luffy. I’ll get it ready for ya.” He began walking towards those kitchen doors, head shaking with a smirk. A cigarette entering his mouth and a lighter being flung open to light it.
“What the heck?” Luffy sat up from the ship’s wood floor. “All I said was your name, how did you know it was about food?” He scratched the top of his head. It’s like he read my mind..
“Luffy,” Usopp intervened. “Your stomach always talks for you before you speak. The whole crew hears it.” He slung back into his seat letting his bandages rub against it, fiddling with a gadget in his hands.
Before opening the door, Sanji added, swishing the cigarette to the other side of his lips. “Right, but I’m pretty sure we’re all hungry— right? Robin~” He smiled, those eyebrows almost forming a heart shape.
Robin looked into the sky, crossing her legs. “Yeah, I could go for something to ea-”
A cutting scream.
Radiating from the door that led into the ship’s kitchen, that scream was potent. It was ominous looking inside that door’s window. The crew’s curious eyes glued to the uncertainty as the following moments were silent.
Then, Nami’s distress echoed in that shadowed room. “WHATTTTTT THE HELLLL!!!!”
“Nami!!” Sanji called out, quickly bursting through the door so roughly that you would’ve thought it broke. “What happened!? I’m here to help youuu!”
Looking in, he saw Nami holding the fridge door. Pupils shaking as a fly swarmed around her. It was pretty anticlimactic, so he let his guard down quickly. “What happened, my dear? I’ll do anythi-”
Shutting her eyes before slamming that door, that rough slam echoed inside the cooled space. A slow turn towards Sanji, her eyes still closed and posture stiff. The man was starting to get worried he did something wrong. “All—of the food—is gone.” Her grumbled words were shaky, not a singular breath taken between the long pauses.
Sanji’s head jolted up and eyes widened. It didn't make sense. They had just filled it up after leaving Alabasta a couple days ago, how could something so full be so empty? Well, he knew the only person who could do it—but this is a new record even for him. “Luffy…” He growled, starting to feel the rage of Nami, a slight heat starting on his face and spilling into the rest of his body. His steps began to get heavy, almost cratering the wooden floor.
When he turned around, an aura engulfed the door frame he was standing in. “So Sanji… What’s wrong?” Luffy questioned, legs crossed directly towards the enraged man. “Why’d you call my name?” One of those genuine eyebrows raised, not feeling the oblivious angry presence the other members looked away from.
The wind couldn’t even break the moments of silence that followed. Sanji stood there with his eyes on the curious boy, letting his curiosity linger. Luffy just looked around, not getting an answer. “Uhh, so are yo-”
Teleported. He appeared in front of the curly head within seconds. It was amazing how fast—faster than the light moved around them.
“Listen here you rubber dumpster.” Grasping Luffy’s shirt, pulling him in. Their proximity was so close that with open eyes they could only see each other. The end of Sanji’s cigarette teasing Luffy’s cheeks, almost charring them. “You’re gonna stop eating all the damn food we get. And eating it within TWO DAYS of getting it.”
Luffy’s eyes tried to look in a different direction, with a loud gulp he responded. “Listen, I was really hungry two hours ago!” awkwardly smiling after. “You would do the same-”
“TWO HOURS AGO AND YOU ALREADY WANT TO EAT AGAIN?” Sanji took a step back and began covering his face with his hands. With muffled words he went on. “We need another lock on the damn fridge. It’s clearly not enough—” He dragged his hands down his face. “IT’S NEVER ENOUGH.”
Stomping out of the kitchen, Nami looked directly at Luffy. “Now we have to SPEND MONEY to get more food, Luffy.” She fell to the ground dejectedly. “I just got this precious bag of Jewelry too..” tears slipping from those shut eyes.
“I don't want to eat fish..” Chopper crawled on the ground, tears forming in the eyes.
“Thanks, Luffy.” Usopp shook his head, rolling his eyes in the process.
“And another island probably isn’t for another two weeks. FUCK!” Sanji ran in circles.
Luffy scrunched his lips. Jeez I was just hungry don't be mad at me.. He turned his head to the side and squinted across the sea. Something caught those eyes, it was too convenient, but he knew what was next to them. “Uhh, there’s an island right there.” He pointed to the dot of land radiating on the horizon.
Running to the edge of the ship Luffy pointed at. Chopper yelled. “REALLY?” All of his reindeer teeth reflected the sun. Blush on his cheeks, overjoyed from the scene.
“Well would you look at that..” Robin snickered, flipping a page in the book she viewed.
Nami’s eyes sparkled. “EVERYONE SET SAIL FOR THAT ISLAND!! We’re getting food!!’ Without giving it a second thought. Her stomach was grumbling too and fish was not on her mind.
“MORE FOOD!!” Luffy smiled, his yells startling the whole crew to wince at him. How could one be so excited for even more food..?
“SHUT UP!!” Usopp, Chopper, Sanji, and Nami yelled in unison, hitting the rubber boy on the head with enraged fists, a tan bump slowly rising after.
The burnt yellow sand beamed the sun from above right into her eyes. Nami’s hair swayed in the ocean breeze as the ship crept closer. Luffy was in the background jumping up and down, preparing himself for the adventures ahead. Seeing the island, stars formed into his eyes and twinkled with every second passing by. Nami could hear him, just within earshot, while resting on the side of the ship. He’s not coming with us.
“Something on your mind, dear?” Sanji passed a cup of the freshly squeezed juice he got from the kitchen. The only thing remaining in there were two fruits stuck together on the end of the table.
Nami hesitated before speaking, knowing her following words were bold. “Luffy’s not coming with us onto this island. I won’t allow it.”
Sanji’s response was quick. “Agreed. We’ll spend too much time there. We have NO time for that.’ He put his hand on Nami’s shoulder. “It’s for his own good… Nami~” He leaned into her with puckered lips and was greeted with a punch to the throat.
“Ow..”
“Glad you could agree” She stepped away from the side of the ship. “What would be a good reason for him to stay though. What would make sense without being too obvious…” She looked around the ship, grabbing her elbow.
Robin’s head in a book, flipping the page. Zoro swinging a large block of metal, honing his muscles. Usopp fidgets on a chair with that same gadget he’s been working on since two days ago, and Chopper tells Luffy to stop jumping around or his wounds will open.
Staring at the angry reindeer until an idea buzzed. That's it!
Sanji noticed the gleam in her eyes and the small smirk that came about. Presuming Nami got an idea, looking in her direction trying to see what she thought about. All he could do was tilt his head to the side and wonder—not a clue coming into mind, just seeing Chopper and Luffy bicker.
“Luffy!! Stop dancing around. You need to heal!!” Chopper tried to put his hoof onto the bandage to make it stick back into place.
Flinching in response, Luffy took a step away from Chopper. “Usopp is worse than me!! Go tend to him, I'll be fine.”
“It’s the doctor's orders! You're going to relax until we fully dock our ship, idiot!”
Luffy crossed his legs and sat hunched on the flooring. “Fine..” a slight spool of blood soaking the cotton bandages.
That's it. Nami smiled. “Doctor’s orders..” She repeated, looking at Sanji with that smile still blazing. “That's what we’ll say.”
Sanji looked to the side. She’s so cute.. “But do you really think he'll listen to that?” Grabbing his chin hairs. “I mean, it is Luffy after all…”
Nami looked back at the rubber boy. “Doesn't matter. He’ll have to.” She squinted those eyes at him. Chopper was still bandaging the bleeding area. “We’re getting more food, another lock, then we’ll be back on the ship in no time. Like we never left.”
“Great…”
Docking the ship was easy, the crew’s done it many times. Managing the wind current, however strong it was, for a slow roll next to the wooden guides in the water that directed the ship next to the wharf. The water swayed the ship perfectly into place, like it was meant to happen. All of the crew were smiling and laughing at each other while getting ready. Usopp almost fell over the wheel due to the amount of blood he lost on the previous island. Luffy was on the verge of screaming in laughter at him, but Usopp just had a blank haze in his eyes. Zoro was still swinging that big chunk of metal because everyone knew that’s what he was good for. Sanji talking to Robin, attempting to catch her eyes away from the book.
But there was one person out of this picture, though her words directed the crew it wasn’t as it used to be. She was soft, words light as wind. Swaying along with the crashing waves, not bold as her words normally are. When Nami talked to the others the words she spewed were commands, always. Even if it was normal chatter, her words stood out lovingly. It was her charm. “Alright guys, we’re docked.” Nami stated to the crew.
Turning his head slowly, Luffy looked right at her. Seeing the sweat build up on the side of her head. “Why’re you so quiet? How was I supposed to know we were docked?”
Her head shot up. Sweat flinging off once she made that quick movement. “Luffy, I don’t know what you’re talking about.” She denied, gulping after, loud enough that Luffy heard from where he was lounging.
She’s hiding something.
“All I know, Luffy, is that you’re not coming with us.”
“WHY NOT!?” The boy yelled, crossing his arms. “I’m THE captain and I want to go!! This place is full of adventure..!”
Nami squinted her eyes. “Doctors orders.” She glanced at Chopper who immediately took a step back when those eyes hit him, feeling her presence shrinking him. “You’re too badly beat up from Alabasta. We need you for the next place we go to.”
Chopper whispered. “She’s right–”
“What was that, Chopper?”
“You’re right!” He yelled, the whole crew facing his direction. “You need to stay and sleep in a bed to just recuperate even a little of what you lost at Alabasta.” He doesn’t need it that badly though… Looking at the eyes around him all the furry boy could do was stand in silence as Luffy stared at him. Deep eyes cutting through, sweat building on Chopper's fur.
He knew he was in the middle of something, but didn't want to be.
“Fine.”
The crew paused. Everyone looked at Luffy in awe, their mouths dropping and seeing as he had a dead expression, meaningless eyes that dropped down and stayed down when he got up from the wood.
He doesn’t want to go? What’s wrong? Zoro looked down at Luffy who dragged his sandals on the floor, heading to the ship’s rooms. “Nami, I'm taking your bed until you get back. Be quick.”
He didn’t even fight it? Immovable for the following moments before responding. “Th—That’s okay! Just don’t touch anything else in my room, you hear?” This isn’t like him at all. I feel bad...
“Fine.”
Sanji smiled. Well look at that. He’s staying. Hearing that door open quickly and shut just as fast too made Sanji laugh. “That’s a first for sure.” The wind from the door closed out the fire from his cigarette. “Might as well take it and go before he changes his mind.”
Shutting her book, standing up and walking towards the ship’s deployable ladder, Robin stated. “Maybe the tiredness hit him.” She let down the sturdy rope and began climbing down it. “I do want to take a walk though.. It’s been awhile.”
“Right behind ya! Robin~” Sanji leaped from the ship onto the sand. “Wait for me!!”
Usopp and Chopper stood together when they deployed from the ship. Usopp invaded the reindeer's mind with his tales as they strolled. Sanji stayed too close to Robin, making sure she’s more than okay, but Nami stood there with the boat’s steady rock moving her hair. Eyes stood wide looking at everyone exploring the island, heads entering into the nearby town that rested. “What’s wrong with you?” A question followed with a thud, Zoro stepped into the scene. Dropping his weights, standing next to her, gazing along.
She looked the other way. “Nothing. I’m just glad we found a place so soon.” Now facing the door Luffy went through, seeing into that window, the darkness inside it showed. The loneliness it made her body feel, goosebumps rising from the thought of how Luffy must've felt.
“The way you’re acting says otherwise.” Zoro squinted his eyes to the back of her orange head. “You’re guilty aren’t you?”
How did he know? “I AM NOT!” She yelled, swiveling back around with a stomp. “What makes you say that?”
Smiling, the swordsman read her easily. “The way you’re acting right now. The way you talked to your captain.” He looked away from her and back onto the gleaming sand that had the foot prints of the other crewmates on them. “You couldn’t believe he said he’ll stay, so you’re struck with guilt. I’m right, aren’t I?”
That evil grin poking out the side of his face, Nami’s body began to shake. “I just didn’t want to spend a whole day here. Is that too much to ask for?” She squinted, moving her pointer finger up and down. “You out of all people should know that’s how this would’ve been if he went with us.”
“Sure.”
“UGH!” Throwing her hands up, Nami set for the ladder. “I have no time for you to make me feel any worse than I already do. I just did what I felt was good for us.”
“Sure.”
“SHUT UP ALREADY!” Reaching for the next step of the ladder with her foot. Jumping the rest of the way down when she was at least half way, not even looking back at Zoro when continually stomping through the hot sand. “Are you coming, or staying here?”
“Staying.”
“GOOD!” She began running away from the ship.
Pathetic. The swordsman shook his head while turning around. His eyes glanced at the door Luffy was behind, imagining him resting there with a face red. He shouldn’t have given in so quickly. Looking away from that door was hard. That’s not like him at all. What’s really going on? Taking the next step was worse. They’ll be back and we’re just gonna pretend like nothing happened. What was that woman’s ordeal? Feeling the wind hit him made it unbearable. I just have to keep training. I’ll forget about it, but why is it— Not feeling the rubber man’s presence around him made the stomach ache. Why is it eating at me?
Those easy laughs hitting his ears as the weights pushed down onto him. Seeing that wide grin that made the whole crew laugh, that’s what made the swordsman push through. Quite frankly, that’s why he vowed to get stronger. To never lose a fight again for his dear captain. The captain he can look into the eyes of and get a little lost, the man who made him lose himself at any moment.
Enough of this. I need to focus. Shutting his eyes, disconnecting that worried gaze from the door. Placing the weight on his back, going up and down, feeling the urge, the tightness of his muscles that contradicted around that weight.
“We’ll be there soon…”
Grabbing his rubber chin. “What was her problem—was it really the food?” Luffy questioned in the eerie room, legs crossed while the covers huddled over him. “I always eat a lot tho.” He tightened his legs, feeling the friction of the rubber squeeze. “Is she just fed up?”
“I don’t get it.” Looking to the side.
“Mm.” closing his eyes.
“Whatever…” Pouting, arms crossed.
She’ll tell me eventually. “I know she will.” Luffy jumped out of the bed, looking at that exit door. “I should see if there’s anything to do on the ship. Might as well scout the area while I wait for them to come back.” He headed towards that singular door, that bright star in the sky exerting its obnoxious rays any way it could, just nagging the adrift boy to go outside. To find his adventure out there in the light, smiling with the others.
I told them I’m not going.
His hand touched that doorknob, letting the warm metal soak into his skin, weirdly hesitating. An action Luffy wasn't very fond of doing. Just going outside. I’ll wait for them to arrive on the deck.
As the wrist turned he put weight into that door, flinging it open and the aftershock breeze swaying his hair. Eyes closed to feel that nice breeze. Air flowed inside the ship, but feeling it raw on his skin. Hearing those distant waves crash into his ears as the blue scenery brought colored eyes.
He smiled. A nice one. Normally, he could only smile when he was with others. Surrounded by the joy of his crew, but he did it engulfed with his own feelings. But it wasn’t until his eyes opened with a tilted head. The most obvious anomaly of the scene standing out ever so brightly.
Why is he here? Luffy furrowed his brows, but that smile only became wider within moments, knowing those brown eyes were touching him.
There he is.. Zoro smiled.
Tilting his head, bringing his hand out, fingers gesturing for Zoro to come closer. When was the last time we were alone, together? “Zorooooo…” Luffy called out, giggling after.
His eyes widened. This hasn’t happened in—Forever… Ever since the crew began to grow… The shocked expression slowly faded, closing those amazed eyes and shaking his head. The last time this scene had occurred it was a new experience even for Zoro, but that blunt man would be lying if he said he didn’t like it. If he didn’t enjoy when Luffy would wrap his arms around him, feeling that constriction while they looked at each other, loving.
“Only a hug, that’s it.”
Snickering: “That’s what we only do.” Eyes following the green hair as it bounced when Zoro jumped from the elevated area.
Zoro, arriving in front of him, looked down with a smile. Hand reached for the back of Luffy’s head. “Are you okay?” an unexpected question he let out.
Luffy raised a brow. “Why wouldn't I be?”
“Everything in Alabasta. Just—” Rosey mess spreading on the swordsman’s cheeks. “Seeing Crocodile coming back and not you—”
Arm wrapped around Zoro’s back. Right where Luffy’s shoulder ended. He knew what Zoro was going to say: “Awww, you were worried about me?” He stepped closer. “I was worried too.”
“Why?”
“That I wasn't going to see you—or the crew again.” Luffy snickered, that rubbery chin settled on Zoro’s chest, his pupils plastered on the green hair’s face still. “I thought, what is Zoro going to think—” Eyes closed, turning his head to now rest in between Zoro’s pecs. Hair tickling the man’s chin. “—going to think now that I’m gone.” Sloppy words since his mouth was being squished.
Zoro used one of his arms to cover his eyes. Another to bring Luffy closer. “I wouldn't let it happen, captain.” Head lowering to rest on Luffy’s feather soft curls, his exposed arms like a pillow. Zoro engulfed himself within Luffy's presence. Tears forming inside of his closed eyes.
“I wouldn't leave you.” Luffy assured.
Walking through the enriched town was fun. A scene to remember, lavished buildings coated in different shiny materials, rainbow of colors scattering the area. Chopper’s eyes sparkled with each head movement, a new view that left him dazed. “Usopp.. This place. It’s amazing.”
But Usopp always had a story to tell. “You know,” he smirked, tilting his head down and eyes only moving to give Chopper a sneaky glare. “I used to own a place like this long ago.. In my home town.. It was very akin to what you see here.”
Head cocking towards Usopp, eyes wide. “REALLY?” Chopper shouted all while stepping over the protruding rocks
“Yes, really..” The longnose pointed towards Chopper. “My exquisite crew of five thousand men used to frolic around the gold-filled town. We were rich as ever.. And they called me.” He looked away, whispering. “Usopp… The greatest man ever.” Hand moved in front of him to emphasize his past riches.
“Wow Usopp, you’re so cool..” He smiled with the hooves clacking against the rocks beneath him. “So why’re you a part of this crew now?”
“I ask myself the same question…” He gave a low grumble while tears slipped from those shut eyes. “I ask myself everyday…”
“Well, I’m glad you’re here to bring us joy on the ship.” That reindeer’s smile growing wide and eyes closing, face creasing expressing his joy.
“Thank you… Chop-”
“Chopp..”
“Chopper??”
“CHOPPER!”
The reindeer’s eyes blazed open. “What happened?”
“LOOK!” Usopp pointed to the man bleeding on the floor. That red liquid scattered all over his face, he was undistinguishable. It looked like a massacre happened on his head alone, some blood bright red and other dried patches a darker hue. Usopp was mortified.
“OH MY GOD?” Chopper ran to the man who was laying on the ground, not letting a second pass. A smile he had, the only thing noticeable close up. Odd. Getting on his knees, the doctor immediately checked the man’s heart to see if it was still beating. Hearing those thuds from the chest, he let out a sigh of relief. “He’s still alive.”
Bringing that hoof up, he wiped some of the blood off the man’s eyelids. “Sir are you—”
“SANJI?” The doctor's heart was elevated. “WHAT HAPPENED, ARE YOU OKAY?”
“Oh.. HeY choPper–” Queasy words from the curly brow.
Usopp grabbed his chin. “Now who here could’ve done this… Sanji is a really good fighter so they must be really strong..” I don’t want to fight em…
“Sanji. Where is Robin? Where is Nami? Can you talk??” The doctor started looking around while wiping the blood from Sanji’s face, looking for a scratch or a bruise, but no irregular notions in the pale man’s skin showed. He seemed perfectly fine.
Giggles emitting from the weakened man. “The women here are lovely~”
“IT WAS A NOSEE BLEED?” Chopper and Usopp yelled, both falling over.
Getting up with a disappointed expression, the long nose man shook his head. “Well glad to know I won’t have to call any of my men to fight any foes..”
“He lost a lot of blood.” Looking at the unusual paleness in his arms. “I need some blood but it’s all back onto the ship..” He looked to the side. I don’t want to send Usopp there because he might grab the wrong one, but can I leave Sanji here with him alone? He looked at Usopp who had shaky eyes.
“He’s gonna be okay right?”
I can leave him. Usopp’s got this. “Yes, he will. I’m a doctor, you know?” When Usopp’s worried face started to fade, the doctor continued. “I need you to stay here with him though. I’ll be back shortly with some blood so he doesn’t die.”
“DIE?” Usopp became ghost-like, paleness spiking his dark skin.
“DONT WORRY! HE WONT WITH ME!” Chopper began walking back the direction he came from. “He shouldn’t have trouble breathing, but if he does help him, okay? I’ll be back!” He yelled while changing into a bigger form, running into the ship’s direction.
“HOW WILL I HEL-” Usopp tried to yell, but Chopper’s distance now was too grand. He knew even with those ears chopper would've never heard him. All he could do was look down at the blonde crew member on the ground.
Sanji giggled. “They… kissed me… the women, haha, they kissed—”
“He’ll be alright.”
Zoro sat on that bed. Sinking into it once he was fully planted. The foam formed around his thighs, rubbing. Eyes glued directly at Luffy who was in front of him, staring the swordsman down with a smile. “The crew's taking forever..” Sweat trickled down the side of Zoro’s face.
Taking a long step closer. “More time for us, right?” Luffy brought that hand towards Zoro’s neck. That chill from his palm made Zoro jump once it hit, but quickly after his head nestled into that hand. He got snug, tilting so the side of his face rested perfectly on those pillow-like fingers. Hair begins to get intertwined with the palm, he edged into it.
So soft.. “We can’t tell them.” He grabbed Luffy’s hand to press that snow-like palm further onto his cheek, worshipping this once in a blue moon feeling. “I wouldn’t want anything happening..”
“Hmm.” Luffy brought his other hand out, touching Zoro’s other cheek, now holding his head. “I don’t see the problem.” He leaned in. Zoro began to get prepared, eyes closed and lips out–
–but he was greeted with a feel on the forehead.
Luffy pressed their foreheads together. The rubber man began giggling seeing what Zoro thought he was getting into.
Opening those light brown eyes. Luffy’s eyelashes brushing against his brow, their proximity, breathes radiating off one another. Zoro loved it. “It’ll get in the way of our goals..”
“Not if we don’t let it.”
“We can’t, Luffy.”
“Whateverrr you say…Zoroo..” Luffy looked to the side. “You were ready though…”
“Ready for what?”
“For this..” Closed eyes, his soft hand reaching the back of his neck and a pull in that connected them even further. When those lips touched it was like entering a soft piece of bread, that fluffy feeling when it connects to the mouth.
They kissed.
He latched onto Zoro, wrapping those stretchy legs around him. Once they were encircled around a pop that echoed in the room because his chest snapped, compressed onto Zoro’s. Using both hands to grab his face, his tongue entered in with every other suck of the lip. The greenhaired man encircled those hefty arms around Luffy’s torso, letting his arms squish in.
Delighted, Zoro was. The longer the minutes that followed of constant face sucking and lip biting. The spit that formed around the two’s mouths was lovely. It’s been awhile—no, forever! Since Zoro felt this way towards someone, he’s just happy he can reenact the origins of meeting Luffy.
Opening his eyes to see Luffy’s closed, he stiffened his face to stop him from smirking and cracking a laugh at the thought. Luffy looked so serious, furrowed brows and stern, focused lips, but it was all worth the feeling. On the day they first met, and escaped that ward. Luffy had his head between Zoro’s legs on that little ship. That first day they shared only a hug that lasted more than just a couple of minutes.
Now they sit here, intertwined on a bed loving each other’s faces..
Disconnect. Luffy brought his face back, opening his eyes to see a line of spit still connecting the two. “We could be doing that all the time~” He came in for one more kiss, a quick one that left Zoro begging for more with his needy eyes. That kiss got rid of the line that bounded them, and left it drooling off of Zoro.
Zoro pushed Luffy down to lay on his back. “I don’t want it to be our priority though, and I know if we make this a common occurrence it will be.” Hesitation eating him.
Luffy tilted his head up to look at the ceiling above. Those dents in the Merry that made added texture. “You could be right.” His eyes looked at Zoro who was sitting up. He didn’t like they weren’t touching—Stretching his arm out he pulled Zoro close, his head laying on Luffy’s chest, green hair frizzing out and muscles rubbing against Luffy. “Doesn’t mean I want it to be right, though.” He began touching Zoro’s hair, first fiddling then began twirling it around.
Zoro whispered. “When we reach our goals.”
“It’ll be more than only a hug.” Luffy rested his palm on his scalp.
“Yeah, that’s it.”
Sinking deeper into Luffy, Zoro closed his eyes, a soft feeling on his cheek like a flamboyant pillow. Vibrantly soft, feather filled and one second on it you could fall asleep. He mumbled meaningless words, hard to understand. “Way meh uhp-” muttering, groaning, a snore following. “ef someun cohm en”
Rolling his eyes he saw Zoro’s mouth open every few seconds for a snore. He’s asleep already?> The man smiled back up at that ceiling. “ZORO WAKE UP NAMI’S HERE!”
Shooting up, eyes immediately looked at the door with a drained pant. “Luffy, that wasn’t funny.” Murmuring as he returned back to laying on top of him, now putting his arms underneath his back, locking Luffy in
“It was a little funny.”
“Maybe to you.” A little snort happening after.
“You laughed!”
“Shut up..” Zoro nestled deeper, or at least attempted to, digging his head within Luffy’s stomach as if he was searching. Luffy enjoyed the head rubbing against him, like a warmed blanket he encircled around, radiating nothing but lovely heat.
In mere seconds another snore came loudly from Zoro, that mouth returning to opening every few seconds to let out a loud gurgle of a noise. >If everyone knows, will our dreams stop? He thought while resting his hand on Zoro’s head, lightly tapping it repeatedly.
They’d support us. But would we favor each other?
Would I really give up on being king. Devoting my life—
A loud scream. “LUFFY!!!” That squeaky voice muffled from beyond the closed door. Eyes widened and a little shake of the pupil. Luffy knew it was. They’re here?! His immediate thought, attempting to get from beneath Zoro.
Zoro’s arms trapped Luffy, that constraint made it impossible to even squirm just a little. Given that he’s made out of rubber, he thought it would be easy, like it normally was for him in tight spaces. But Zoro’s hold was too strong, he wiggled, but nothing came out of it. Those hooves clomped on the merry’s wood, Luffy’s heart raced with each click hitting his ears. Dammit.
Looking down at Zoro, he knew he couldn’t yell, he couldn’t make any crazy noises or that’ll alert Chopper quickly. He doesn't want Zoro waking up with a scream either, then Chopper’ll just burst through the door. Time was cutting short, and the rubber boy had to think of something quick.
“ZORO!!” Another yell, that one sounded impatient. Luffy’s worry skyrocketed, it bursted through the merry’s hard walls. “Where are these guys even at?..” Asking himself, Chopper stepped close to that door. His hoof could be only inches away, giving leeway for that knob to be turned.
Staring roughly, he was at a state of loss. Not a thought tickled his mind into what he could do to get out of this situation. His arms, bound to Zoro’s muscles. His feet, consumed by the weight of that green haired man on top of him.
It’s only Chopper. He won’t think much of this. Teeth gritted, watching the knob slowly rotate.
Zoro can’t be that mad, he’s the one that caused this. Eyes switching from Zoro to the now opening door rapidly.
Welp..
With a smile reflecting the star’s light that now invaded the room. “Hey Chopper!” He closed his eyes as his head and elongated neck were the only thing’s Chopper could see.
A red mess appeared quickly. “LUFFY-” He yelled, voice squeaking high as ever and eyes looking away from the scene. “Wha- What’re you doing?!”
Trying to shrug his shoulders, he couldn’t. “Uhh.. What does it look like?” laughing loudly after, head tilting back. This is all of his fault. He can’t be mad.
Chopper’s pupils only went onto the two for a moment and quickly looked away again. “It looks like you and Zoro are—Sleeping together?” Eyes still glued onto the wall but that peripheral can see everything quite well.
“Yup!” Luffy shook his head. “We were just bored and decided to go to sleep since there’s only one comfortable bed…” He can keep a secret. “Where’s everyone else?”
A loud gulp. “Uhhmm, they’re still on the island. I’m just looking for—” His ears perked up and barged further into the room, demeanor completely altering once he remembered the task at hand. “That’s right, I was grabbing the blood for Sanji. Something happened.”
Raising an eyebrow, Luffy looked side to side before speaking. “What the heck happened? Did he get into a fight and I wasn’t there!?”
“No.” Hooves dug through a bin that had red packs in them. “Girls were touching him and he got a really bad nosebleed. We found him spazzed out on the floor.”
“Hahahaha.” Luffy’s head hit the pillow. “I was worried for a moment.” He looked over to Chopper who now had a red bag of liquid in between his hoof, with a glare right back at Luffy who was pinned down to the bed by Zoro’s weighty figure. “Make sure the cook’s okay, alright? Counting on you.” A big smile of reassurance.
Still a little spooked at what he was seeing, Chopper stuttered a tad before responding. “R-Right!” Turning away to begin walking out the room.
“And one more thing.”
He paused. “Yes?” Not wanting to turn around.
“Don’t tell anyone, okay?” Even though they should know. Luffy looked back down at Zoro’s shut eyes, the little drool that escaped his open mouth onto the red worn-out shirt Luffy wore.
“I-I—” Chopper turned back to look at Luffy. “I won’t.”
“Thanks, Chopper.”
A nod of the head, and a change of figure quickly. Chopper’s broad form ran out from the room, jumping off the merry. His heavy steps fading from the ear once he was far enough. “Luckily it was just him and no one else.” Luffy sighed in relief while looking back down. “And you better not be mad when you wake up either.” Meaningless words to Zoro, smiling looking down at his roughed green hair resting. So soundly too, it was amazing how elegant a man so brute could be once his consciousness left him. Shut eyes with fluttering lashes and a quiet smile when he was pressed against Luffy in a dream.
But then—
Those green lashes rose. A head slowly rising from Luffy’s chest with a smooth smirk. “I’m not mad.”
“YOU WERE AWAKE!?” Luffy retracted his arm from the loosened grip, snapping when it was back into place. “WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY ANYTHING?” Covering his face with his palm. Made me feel ridiculous..
A loud laugh that echoed in that room, Zoro fully rose from Luffy’s chest, pulling his lifted shirt back down. Those abs speaking out had Luffy rolling his eyes since the swordsman had yet to answer his question.
Getting up, looking out the open door, seeing the cracks in the ship’s wood. Zoro sighed. “Maybe it'll be more than a hug soon.” He turned back to Luffy who was just staring up at him.
Jumping from bed. “That doesn't make any sense.” Approaching Zoro while licking his lips, grasping his meaty arms with a firm grip. “You still haven't answered my question!”
Zoro smiled while encircling Luffy once more. “I just wanted to see what you would do… I hate to keep our situation like this. It won't be for long, I promise.” While resting his head on Luffy’s hair he continued. “It just depends on what Chopper does..” A giggle after, Luffy felt that chest rising with each laugh
“Whatever…” Luffy smirked while hearing Zoro’s heart beating, that warmth on the cheek from the heat off his body.
“Since this is the only comfortable bed.” Repeating Luffy’s words with a laugh. “That was funny though.”
Eyes widened. “YOU HEARD THAT?”
“I heard it all…” Leaving a kiss on Luffy’s forehead.
