Goodbye to my heart, hello to your world : A Wish rewrite

Summary:

"Starlight, starbright,
First star I see tonight.
I wish I may, I wish I might,
Have this wish I wish tonight."

Chapter 1: Prolouge: The end of the road

Notes:

First off, hi! Thank you for taking the time to read this project that has been running around in my mind ever since the movie released.

I think I can speak for all when I say that Disney's Wish is one of the prime examples of wasted potential. Just by looking at the concept art of what we could have gotten vs. watching the movie and what we ended up getting, it felt like watching a car crash in real time.

And clearly I'm not the only one who felt this way. Many people did. Especially after looking at the concept art. And because of that, many fans began making rewrites, aus, even fan projects to try to 'remake' the film in their own image. And that's where I come in.

HOWEVER, there is one catch.

You see, unlike many other rewrites that try to present the original vision of the movie, I wanted to take mine in a different approach. Specifically by adding one KEY detail.

Kingdom Hearts.

What better way to rewrite what was intended to be a tribute to an animation studio, then by combining its story with what I consider the greatest tribute to Disney I've ever seen.

DONT WORRY, I know how confusing the lore is, so to make things easier, think of this as a prequel. This will take place YEARS before the events of the first game, but for any KH fans, this takes place before BBS and somewhere after Dark Road.

And that's where I'll leave off for now. I'll pop up every now and then to update you all!

And with that, I hope you all enjoy...

Chapter Text

Here lies a long forgotten book, hidden in the rubble of an abandoned room. It seemed a battle was fought here...but to know exactly what has happened, we must open out mind and read of this talked as old as time...the pages flip and our story begins...

Once upon a time, long long ago, in a faraway land...light and darkness exist in a delicate peace.

It was a glorious age for all lands...an Age of Fairytales. And that peace was maintained by young warriors who wielded a special type of weapon...a keybalde. A weapon forged by light to combat the darkness. However, darkness lies in every heart, and light often blinds the truth. Because of this, the peace would one day, result in war.

In the end, many perished, but those wielders who lived, traversed to different worlds, and even ended up making their own worlds to teach new generations of keyblade wielders.

One such wielder, became a keyblade master, the first of many.

He soon left his home with his beloved, and established a kingdom like none other. One where creativity was rewarded, where the light would shun the darkness away, and one...where your wishes could come true.

And yet, as his kingdom grew, the king began to grow worry about a future without him. He and his queen had no children and there have been rumors that the darkness would one day swallow their world.

And so, to prepare for that day, the king would go to different worlds...scout young individuals...and train them to use the power of the keyblade...

These were his apprentices, or as he called them, his Star seekers. For it was their duty to seek the power of the stars to protect their world and the others.

However, one such apprentice was different from the rest. Like her peers, she was only a child when she was scouted...however, her situation was far more graver than anyone could have ever imagined.

~10 years ago, The Enchanted Dominion~

Thump, thump, thump

The sound of hooves galloping disturbs the calm silence of the woods. A hooded figure is seen mounting the steed with such ferocity. They seemed to be in a hurry, and for a good reason.

The path they treaded on was leading to a mount bridge. It was leading to old settlement near the castle of this world. It was where the stars had guided them, to find someone. They didn't know who it was they'll meet, all they know is that they have to get there first. Before...before...

The horse halts, the figure jumps down, and their eyes widen in horror. They were too late.

Smoke envelopes the sky as houses farms burn to the ground. All throughout, fading screams where heard, as people ran from their homes, some even setting their animals free, but these survivors...were few in numbers.

The hooded figure stared at the damage before them, and then...looked up...and found the cause.

A creature with scales as black as night, eyes with an eeire green glow, and wings as large as the sky. It's body slowly descends from the sky, as it's form reveals itself to be of draconic nature. But a dragon in these parts? In this world? How could that even be possible? The hooded figure shook their head. They knew the answer all too well, but now was not the time to ponder on possibilities. Only action can be taken now.

They approached the burning village carefully, but steadily. The dragon noticed their arrival and before anyone knew it, the beast roared ferociously.

After what felt like a shockwave to the land, the bushes began to move, the trees began swaying, and soon enough, THEY arrived. Creatures born from the darkness is people's hearts. The Heartless. This beast seemed to have a power over them, almost like control.

The heartless surrounded the hooded figure, ready to strike. But the figure simply stood. Not even attempting to escape, the figure holds out their hand as they looked up at the dragon.

"You...you're not supposed to be here. At least not yet. Meaning...that someone made a mistake releasing you so soon."

Suddenly, something glows from the outstretched hand. The glow shines brighter than anything else in that night, and after a few seconds...

SHING!

The light subsides, and in the grasp of the hand, now lies what appears to be an ancient weapon. A giant key  for a blade. A keybalde.

"A mistake that I will rectify...AND ABSOLVE FROM THIS WORLD!"

Woosh!

The figure removes their cloak, and from then, reveals their appearance. A young man somewhere in his mid 20s, handsome and well built in appearance, combed black hair, groomed beard, and tan skin. He wore what appeared to be royal robes, beige in color with many golden patterns. These patterns then began to glow as this man began to take position, keyblade in hand, as the heartless began to charge at him.

They then jumped at him from all sides, but after what seemed like a fatal attack, all the heartless were then thrown off of him. The man composes himself, dusting his clothes off as he smiles confidently. He then takes his keyblade, raises it to the sky and yells out, "THUNDER!!!"

KRAKOOM!!!

From the sky descended a fury of thunder strikes, all accurately directed at the creatures. What followed to the surviving bunch were a series of slashes, dodges, and hits from all sides. All while the figure, seemingly took somewhat pleasure and exileration in the combat, performing flashy spells whenever he could.

"FIRAGA!!! BLIZZARD!!! AREO!!!"

After a few minutes, the heartless dwindled in numbers, but our mysterious friend seemed to no longer be interested in them.
