~ 26th September 2026 ~
Andy groans as she blinks blearily into the still dark room. She looks around Copley’s spare room -one of, anyway- catches the time of 03:07 and wonders why on this god forsaken earth she’s awake at this time, it’s barely morning. They’ve been staying with Copley for the last week or so while they take a well earned break following a particularly tiresome contract in London. They’re due to split soon, take some time for themselves before meeting again in the new year, she hasn’t decided where to go yet but she’s thinking somewhere remote.
Andy pulls the duvet over her head and rolls onto her side, closing her eyes and letting blissful sleep pull her back under when all of a sudden there’s a thud from below. Her eyes snap open and she strains to hear anything untoward. Could be any number of things, there’s four other people in the house after all. There’s another sound, still a thud but not as hard, almost like someone has stumbled into something followed by the sound of a loud, wet hacking cough.
She throws the duvet off, swings her legs over the side of the bed and grabs her handgun from the side table, just in case, you never know. Although if it turns out to be Joe rooting around for midnight snacks again she might just shoot him anyway for the sheer audacity of disturbing her slumber. She makes her way out of the room, down the dim hallway, the only light coming from the full moon shining through the large windows. As she makes her way down the ridiculous spiral staircase the coughing grows even louder, somehow more panicked sounding and almost wheezy.
It’s coming from the dining room at the back of the house, directly under the room she’d been sleeping in, no wonder it had woken her up. She picks up her pace, pushes the door open and rolls her eyes. “Joe, I swear to-” She stops abruptly as she takes in the truly impossible scene in front of her.
The dining room is large, modern like the rest of the house but it hosts a beautifully handmade walnut table surrounded by ten chairs. Usually the table has a cream runner along the middle where fresh flowers and candles sit. They sit neatly tucked away in the corner of the room now though and the table is instead dotted with half-burned thick white candles, some of which have something red dripping down along with the white wax. There’s a small dagger next to a very familiar old bracelet boasting an intricate design and several strange symbols that she doesn't recognise carved directly into the wood of the table that certainly weren’t there the previous evening. The strangest thing of all though, the thing that makes this almost unbearable is what sits in the middle.
Surrounded by the candles and the symbols, hunched forward, coughing and spluttering and completely unaware they’re no longer alone is someone Andy thought she’d never see again.
“Quynh..”
~ 28th June 2020 ~
She looks to her left, staring out the dirty window and sees Nile sidle up to Booker and start talking quietly to him. She can’t hear what's being said but Booker offers her a small smile and Nile tentatively puts her arm around his shoulders. He flinches, it’s subtle but she sees it and she’s positive that Nile feels it. He looks completely startled by the fact that she’s touching him and raises a brow in her direction. Nile ignores it but drops her arm and instead leans in closer, she notices how Booker seems to relax slightly and inclines his head in order to hear better as she continues to talk.
She can still remember the first time they’d found Booker all those years ago, starved, half frozen and bordering on feral in the Russian wilderness. He’d thought himself dead as they’d stood over his dirt covered frail body half buried in suspiciously pink snow. He’d called them angels and closed his eyes as if he was ready to be done with it all, ready to finally be at peace.
Instead they’d moved him, explained who they were, what they were and what they thought their purpose in life was. He’d been so wary of them, not that she could really blame him but it had surprised them all just how reserved he was. Even by the time they’d warmed him up, put some meat back on his bones and made their way out of Russia he’d been no more comfortable with them.
It didn’t matter what they did, what they said, how they tried to connect with him or attempt to find some kind of common ground, he didn’t trust them, didn’t want them close. It had felt like an outright rejection and considering how little they actually knew him, it had hurt.
Even when he’d eventually -reluctantly- joined them following his wife's passing he’d kept a distance between them. Nicky and Joe had been a lot more patient with him than she had but in the end even they had grown tired of his standoffishness. He’d allowed them to train him, he’d followed them on their journey across the globe and he’d given his all to any missions they partook in but he’d never fully.. settled in with them.
He occasionally went off on his own but he was never rude or cruel, he was never icy with them in fact he’d been downright polite the first few years but he hadn’t been warm. She’s unsure when she stopped trying -probably earlier than she should have- but it had just felt like so much hard work, like pulling teeth or trying to get blood out of a stone.
She’s pulled from her thoughts as Joe’s hard voice cuts across the table. “He needs to pay, Andy. This cannot go unpunished. Nile may think an apology is acceptable here but-” he stops himself to clear his throat. “They hurt Nicky.. That mad woman tortured-”
“Joe..” That’s all Nicky says, he places his hand atop Joe’s on the table and gives it a gentle squeeze. They look into each other's eyes and communicate with each other without so much as saying a word.
Joe nods and turns back towards Andy. “Ok.. What are your feelings, Andy? This needs to be a joint decision after all.”
They talk and talk and then talk some more until they reach an agreement. She’d have been happy with fifty but Joe and Nicky -especially Joe- are much more furious than she is. She’s hurt, beyond hurt actually, the utter betrayal and anguish of this whole situation has been hard to swallow, but the anger she’d had in Kozak’s lab, the pure rage she’d felt at knowing that a member of her family had betrayed them.. Well, that had disappeared surprisingly quickly.
He takes it well, just like she thought he would. He’ll no doubt drink himself into oblivion tonight, possibly go on a month long bender but he offers her a small sad smile and looks at her full of guilt and regret.
“I’m gonna miss you.” She chokes out, she needs to say it, not only is it true but she's mortal now, this is the last time she’ll ever see him.
He hugs her, holds her tight against his solid body as he almost nuzzles into her neck and she tries to think about the last time she’d done this. He’d grown more accustomed to their touches over the years, they’re all pretty tactile people but she can’t remember the last time she held him like this. She feels her own little swell of regret before she pulls back to look into his eyes, his tired blue eyes that she’d once described as soulful now look haunted and suspiciously wet. She gently cups his cheek and whispers, “Fraterculus.” He lets out a little snort at the old nickname and places a soft kiss to her cheek.
As she follows Nile up the creaky old steps towards the main walkway back into town she looks over her shoulder and catches his little nod to Joe who immediately turns to follow her. She doesn’t miss his quiet sniff before he clears his throat and grabs a hold of her hand.
~ 1st August 2021 ~
They're sitting at a small bistro table on the balcony of the latest hotel. It’s a genuinely gorgeous summer evening, clear blue sky, sun still shining high and bright and to top it off she has an ice cold beer in hand. Andy and Nile have been travelling together for the last two months while Nicky and Joe spent some time in Malta. They’d hit some of her most favourite cities to visit and were currently figuring out where to go next.
“I’ve never been to India..” Nile says absently as she flicks through her phone and sips on her weirdly bright cocktail.
“Lets do that then, we can-” She’s cut off from anything further when the shrill ringtone of her latest burner phone disturbs the quiet peace. She rolls her eyes and gets ready for Copley to try and convince her to take another job when they’re supposed to be taking a break.
She swipes up without looking and brings the phone up to her ear, “This better be good..” she says in a bored but teasing lilt.
“A-Andy..”
She sits bolt upright, Nile snaps her eyes up at the sudden movement and looks at her in question, head slightly cocked to the side and brows furrowed.
“Book?”
Niles’ eyes widen slightly as she puts her phone and cocktail down on the side table. Is it really Booker? She mouths gesturing to the phone. No one has heard from him since that dreaded day at the beach and shouldn’t for another century.
“I’m.. Andy- Soror Cara..” That causes a lump to form in her throat, she hasn’t heard him call her that for an incredibly long time. “I-I’m ssorry- I-I- Andy, I’m.. I-I.. alone. I’m s-s-sorry.” Her eyes begin to fill with tears that she refuses to let fall. It kills her inside to hear him like this, so sad and desperate, not to mention drunk by the sound of his slurring.
“Booker..” She says it in an almost pleading tone and she closes her eyes, unable to stop the haunting image of Booker slumped over countless empty bottles invading her mind.
“Forgive me..”
Then he’s gone, he ends the call and she allows herself one minute of letting the tears fall freely. Letting the remorse of condemning him to a century of exile be acknowledged for the first time since she’d agreed to the punishment a year ago.
She feels a hand on hers where she’d let it fall to her knee and opens her eyes to see Nile crouched in front of her with a soft expression full of compassion on her face. “Come on, let's head to the bar downstairs and get drunk, yeah?”
~ 2nd October 2022 ~
“He’s reached out again..” Copley tells her as he hands her an unopened envelope with her name on it. He then hands a letter to each of the others as they take a seat at his stupidly big dining table, lunch now forgotten and pushed to the side.
She looks over the cream envelope and takes in the name Andromache in Booker’s messy scrawl. As she tears it open she’s instantly hit with the faint scent of cigarette smoke. She looks up and sees Nile with a small smile on her face as she reads her own letter, Joe chewing on his bottom lip while scowling down at his still unopened letter on the table whilst Nicky has left the table completely, unopened letter pushed to the side along with his pasta.
She looks back down towards the thick paper in her hands and sucks in a breath at the little splotches across the page, it looks like they used to be wet, almost as if he’d- no, she doesn’t want to think about that right now. She has no idea what he’d be reaching out about now but she clears her throat and begins to read.
Andromache -
Andy -
Soror Cara
I don’t really know how to start No, that’s a lie, I’m sorry. I’m so fucking sorry, Andy. I should never have put you in that situation, I should never have gone behind your back like that. Should never have listened to that madman's promises. I don’t know what I was thinking. I just No, that’s another lie. I know exactly what I was thinking. I was thinking that I wanted needed it all to be over. I needed the pain to just stop, the deep well of sadness that has resided in me for so long that I don’t even remember what it’s like to live without it anymore. It’s all a part of me, the guilt, the self loathing and the utter desolation and heartache that has haunted me since Sophie and my boys no longer graced the earth with their presence.
I know you know more than anyone else what it’s like to be alone, truly alone and I know that you did that for much longer than you ever should have had to.
I’m not like you though, Andy. I’m not as strong as you, never have been.
You were right to call me a coward. It’s what I am, it’s what I always have been. I wouldn’t have been strung up for desertion if I wasn’t. I just couldn’t bare the emptiness any longer, the huge gaping hole in my heart, in my soul where they should be. He’d offered a way out, I didn’t even stop to properly think about the consequences of how it would affect you and Nicky and Joe. For that I will forever be regretful.
If I’m being honest, which lets face it I should be. I thought you’d want it too. I thought you’d take the offered way out with me, relieve yourself of the burden that is carrying the sadness about Lykon and the guilt about Quynh.
I know now that you’d never. I knew it then too, deep down, but I'm nothing if not delusional. You’re too stubborn good for that. Always too good, too kind, always trying to do the right thing. You were too kind to me, you know. Should have left me there, left me buried in the snow for the dogs and the crows to find.
I don’t expect your forgiveness or even your understanding but I hope I can make it up to you one day. I’m certainly going to try. Not like I don't have the time.
I miss you
Booker
~ 19th May 2023 ~
“And you’re sure it’s him?” Andy asks Copley as she sinks back into the comfortable armchair in the most recent safe house. It’s about fifty years old and an awful green colour but it’s covered in mismatched throws and a wonky cushion from Nicky’s attempt at knitting back in the eighties. She fiddles with the last remaining tassel on the faded orange monstrosity and listens to what he says.
Copley’s voice is slightly tinny but clear down the current burner phone. “Yes, definitely him. No traces have been left so far except this one grainy image. He’s usually so good at covering his tracks, I’d have never known it was him if I didn’t already know his face. I'm unsure as to why this one remains.”
Andy doesn’t know either and she doesn’t know why Booker is apparently on some kind of thieving spree. No one has been hurt and nothing has made any headlines yet but several ancient tomes have been.. liberated from museums, archives and even some personal collections.
“Is there any kind of pattern to it?”
“Not that I can tell but I'm still looking into it. I’ll keep you posted.” With that he ends the call and Andy pinches the bridge of her nose before rubbing at her temples. She can feel a headache coming on and stands up to hunt down some paracetamol, oh the perks of being mortal.
She’s rooting through the kitchen cupboard when Nicky enters. “You ok, Boss? You want some tea?”
“I’d love some actually, thanks.”
She finds what she’s looking for and slumps into a chair at the table to quickly swallow down two tablets with the tea that Nicky passes her. “Headache?” He asks, full of sympathy and eyes full of pained resignation. They’ve all had to come to terms with her mortality over the last couple of years but she’s still taken aback by how much it’s affected both Nicky and Joe.
“Hmm..” She looks at him, really looks at him and wonders if she should tell him about the call from Copley. Nicky has without a doubt been the most resentful of Booker since their time in Merrick's lab. Joe’s anger burns fast and bright as it always has and he’s mostly full of sadness and betrayal rather than anger. Nicky though, she knows he’s not there yet, might not be for a long time.
“Copley called..”
“Yeah?”
“Hmm.. He’s been following an odd case of stolen tomes for the last few months and it turns out that it’s Booker.” She watches as his face closes off immediately at the mention of his name. He rises from the table and gives her a conflicted look before he grabs his mug of tea and leaves the room.
~ 25th January 2024 ~
Joe’s fist flies past her ear and makes an icy cool breeze shoot down her neck causing gooseflesh to prickle over her exposed skin. It’s getting darker now, they should probably call it a day but it’s a full moon tonight so it’s not exactly dark. She can tell he’s pulling his punches, can see he’s not sparring with her as he usually would -has been for the last millennia- especially as that last one should have clocked her and she’s starting to get frustrated.
Yes, she might be mortal now but that does not mean she doesn’t know how to handle herself anymore. She was a warrior before she was an immortal for fuck sake, she does not need to be coddled.
She launches forward and tackles him to the floor, it’s completely unexpected, what with them just training and running drills along with Nicky and Nile so she has the upper hand and he hits the frosty grass beneath their feet with a satisfying thud. He groans as he looks at her in confusion.
“Stop pulling back.” She bites out at him.
“Andy..”
“No, don't Andy me! I taught you most of what you know, Joe, don’t you dare patronise me now!” He looks suitably chastised but also full of compassion and she wants to throttle him. She loves him, he’s her brother just as Nicky is just as- whatever, he’s her family and she loves him but she will not put up with this shit.
She hauls herself to her feet, shakes out her arms, grabs her labrys and calls out to Nile, “Oi, Freeman, get over here.” She does, grabbing her double headed spear on route and raising a challenging brow as she stops a few feet in front of her.
“Alright, Andromache, but don’t think I'll go easy on you like these chumps.” She smirks and jerks a thumb over her shoulder. She says it in a teasing tone but Andy can see that she’s just trying to lighten the mood rather than patronise her. She’s been protective of her since the whole mortality thing but she doesn’t have the propensity to coddle her like Joe and Nicky. She’s also incredibly competitive.
Ten minutes they go at it before anything of note happens. In between bouts of blocking, parrying and several jeers thrown back and forth Niles spear glides through the air to Andy’s left and even though Andy throws her Labrys up to block, the tip catches her shoulder and the sting of it slicing into her skin draws a small gasp.
“Andy!” Joe shouts from where he and Nicky had been watching on in both awe and horror.
“I’m fine, it’s just a nick. I’ll clean it up later. Come on..” She gestures Nile forward and raises a challenging brow at her. “What else you got?” Nile doesn’t move though, she’s staring at Andy’s shoulder in wide eyed confusion. “Ugh, not you too, it’ll-”
“You’re healing..”
What did she just say? Nicky and Joe jump to their feet and rush at her just as Nile drops her spear and does the same. They’re all talking over each other but she has no idea what any of them are saying as she looks down and watches the last little millimetre of skin knit itself back together.
“Oh my god..” She feels like the breath has been knocked out of her. How is this even possible? How would her immortality just come back? Why would her immortality come back?
It’s a couple of hours later and they’re sitting at the small kitchen table eating the lasagne that Nile had cooked for them, glasses of wine half drunk and laughing about the absurdity that is their lives.
Nile goes quiet, looks down at her food all contemplative. Andy nudges her foot under the table. “You alright?”
“Mm yeah, I’m fine just- no, no I'm alright forget it.”
“Come on, what’s up?”
She looks worried as she chews her bottom lip before seeming to steal herself to say something she’s not sure about. “Do you think you should tell Booker?”
Nicky and Joe go silent in an instant, Nicky’s cutlery clattering towards his plate and Andy doesn’t miss how that makes Nile flinch slightly. “I just thought- well he’d want to know.. Wouldn't he?”
It’s Nicky who answers. “He lost the right to anything like that when he betrayed his family to the likes of Merrick and Kozak.” He doesn’t leave the table but he picks up his cutlery and starts to quietly eat his dinner. Joe follows suit and Nile looks at Andy in apology. Andy nudges her foot under the table again and gives her a wink. They’ll talk later, she’s not wrong in her assumption that he’d want to know but the situation is complicated, so complicated she doesn’t even know how to explain it anymore.
~ 20th April 2025 ~
“I’m gonna find it, you know!” Nile laughs while Joe chases her, he misses her by a hairsbreadth and she practically squeals as she picks up her pace.
“I want to say I’m surprised by their behaviour.. But I'm really not.” Nicky hands her a drink before he takes the seat next to her and sits down. “Over a thousand years old..” He shakes his head but he’s smiling as he watches both Nile and Joe look behind the trees, through the bushes, behind flower pots and even the pond that sits towards the end of the garden.
They’re at Copley’s for the weekend following a job in Wales. They’d needed to check in with him and debrief and it was Easter weekend so they’d decided to stick around for a couple of days and enjoy the surprisingly nice weather. They’d had a barbeque the day before and after several glasses of Pims Nile had reminisced about how her mother always held an Easter egg hunt for all the children in the family. How she missed it and in turn missed her mother, her brother and all the people from her ‘old’ life.
She’d taken herself off to bed before anyone could even attempt to console her but upon waking this morning Copley of all people had surprised them all with a basket each containing an envelope of clues to the impromptu Easter egg hunt he’d spent the previous night setting up. Where he’d gotten so many eggs from the night before Easter only he knew but the look on Niles face was priceless.
Her giddy energy had been contagious and so they’d made their way into Copley’s impressive garden and spent the next hour acting nothing like the centuries old immortals that they were looking for as many chocolate eggs as they could find. As soon as Andy’s basket was half full she’d taken a seat at the table with Copley and watched on as the others scrambled around the garden.
She’d wanted to tease him for setting up an egg hunt for four immortal beings but as she looked at Joe and Nicky shoving each other out of the way to get a pink foil wrapped chocolate egg and at Nile climbing a small apple tree, she realised that they’d needed this. Something fun, something silly and ridiculous. Instead she gave him an indulgent smile which he’d returned with a smile of his own as he shrugged and sipped at his coffee, also watching the mayhem unfold in front of them.
Now, Joe and Nile were fighting it out to see who would find the golden egg that Copley had said held a surprise. Coming from Copley she really didn’t know what it could be, she didn’t think either of them actually cared, they were too busy having fun.
There’s a loud shout followed by a grunt as Joe falls to the floor and Nile jumps over him victoriously as she runs towards the other end of the garden. Nicky snorts a laugh as he watches his husband of centuries run around the garden covered in grass stains, with mud smeared across his cheek and a twig hanging from his messy hair. “Booker would absolutely love-”
He cuts himself off abruptly and looks down at his knees with furrowed brows. It’s the first time in five years that he’s ever brought him up - to her anyway, she’s more than confident that he’s instigated conversations with Joe over the years.
She doesn’t want to make a big deal about it but she also doesn’t want to ignore it either - it’s small but it’s progress. She tilts her head back and looks at the almost clear blue sky, listens to the birds chirping away in the trees and the huffing and puffing of Nile and Joe, she can smell the lavender that sits in big pots by the back door and the faint smell of smoke from people in the village no doubt starting their own barbeques. It really is a lovely spring day today. She’s never been fussed about Easter, why would she be, she was around before Christ himself nevermind his weird death/resurrection days that the Christians decided to celebrate.
A small smile works its way across her face because she knows he’s right. “You’re right. He would love it. He’d be holding Joe back until Nile finally found the golden egg only to try and take it from her himself.” She laughs and looks back down to Nicky who has a faint smile on his face.
Maybe they won’t have to wait a whole century after all.
~ 26th September 2026 ~
“Quynh..”
At the sound of her name, Quynh’s head shoots up and she looks over at Andy with wild eyes that look both confused yet terrified. Andy finally notices that her hair is wet and stuck to her neck and shoulders, she has gooseflesh across her skin and several rivulets of water running down her naked and emaciated frame. She opens her mouth as if to say something only to fall forward again and into yet another coughing fit.
Andy lurches forward and scoops her into her arms, she’s absolutely freezing and she can feel the shivers starting to overtake her body. She lays her flat on the floor before turning her on her side into the recovery position. She needs to warm her up, she needs a blanket or a towel or something but she doesn’t want to leave her, she can’t possibly leave her.
She pulls the oversized Queen t-shirt that she’s pretty sure belonged to Booker at one point over her head and drapes it over Quynh’s shivering torso. “You’re ok, you’re ok..” Is she ok? Andy genuinely has no idea but what is she supposed to say, supposed to do? “NICKY.. JOE!” She shouts suddenly causing Quynh to flinch. “NICKY, JOE!”
There’s the sound of footsteps as several bodies make their way down the stairs, through the long hallway and into the dining room. Nicky comes through first, handgun at the ready followed by Joe. He sees her on the floor and immediately drops to his knees next to her. Joe follows suit as he hovers his hands over Quynh’s body. “Quynh? Quynh? It’s really you?”
Nile comes in next followed by Copley. Both drop their weapons when they seem to assess there’s no threat. From there it’s all a bit of a blur, Nile rushes out the room and comes back a moment later, arms laden with blankets. Copley makes some space in his old office he no longer uses but that has a pull out sofa in it.
There’s no way that Quynh can stand up, never mind walk right now so a room downstairs is certainly best. Once she’s covered in blankets, tucked in from her chin to her toes the shivering starts to lessen slightly. She keeps opening her mouth as if to say something but nothing comes out, only her ragged breathing or a wheezy cough. Andy stays next to her, never taking her eyes off of her, occasionally softly stroking her hair away from her face.
It’s not until hours later that she gets a better look at the long table in the dining room. She’d tried to stop Quynh from falling asleep too early but she’d been unable to fight it much longer, her mind and body thoroughly exhausted from centuries of torture. She had to just hope that her immortality would heal her while she slept and that she wouldn't suffer any secondary drowning.
As Nile sits with Quynh while she rests Andy makes her way around the table, taking in the blood speckled candles half-burned in a ring around the centre, the strange yet now she looks closer, kind of familiar symbols etched into the wood in the space between each candle. She picks up the dagger that she knows to be a favoured style of both Booker and Nicky, in fact she remembers Nicky training Booker how to use the Stiletto dagger in the late eighteen hundreds.
She places the dagger back onto the table and moves to pick up the thick gold armillae with its intricate design of a snake wrapped around from one end to the other. Her hand hovers there for a moment because she definitely does know this, she made it afterall. She doesn’t even know how long ago but she knows it was before Nicky and Joe, back when it was just the two of them. It’s been in storage though, well, what she considered storage anyway - an abandoned mine entrance in Andorra. How is it here? How is any of this here?
Copley enters the room carrying a thick tome of some sort, eyes scanning the pages, brows furrowed in concentration. “It’s a spell..” He seems to say to himself.
“A spell?” Joe repeats. Andy looks to her left, she hadn’t even noticed that Joe and Nicky were also in here, circling the table, trying to figure out what the hell had happened last night.
“Yes, it would appear so. This is supposedly an old grimoire rumoured to belong to the once famous witch Agneta Abyrford. She was burned at the stake in the Pendle Trails along with her sister in 1612. The man who forced himself on said sister found his untimely death by way of poison.” He says all of this quite matter of fact, still looking down at the book, carefully turning page after page.
“See, look here..” He holds the book towards Nicky, Joe looking over his shoulder. “This is a spell for levitation..” He flips a few more pages, “..this one here is for telepathy and this one here is for-” He stops abruptly as he looks at the page closer, “..Ah.. Well.. If magic is indeed real, which- well- that would explain that then.”
“Copley?”
He looks over at her and his face falls slightly. “This spell.. Well it’s a trading spell.. Switching spell, if you like. It allows the caster to swap places with another. Should they have the right tools and a propensity for magic.”
Silence fills the space for a moment as they all take that information in. Take in the fact that apparently magic is real. That a trading spell, a spell where one literally switches places with another took place on this very table just a matter of hours ago. Not to mention that aside from everyone currently in Copley’s house there’s only one other person alive with any knowledge of Quynh.
“ANDY!” Nile’s panicked shout rips through the silence of the room and as one they all move towards Copley’s old office where Quynh is slumped against the dark blue backrest of the pull out sofa, eyes again wild and terrified as she desperately gasps for breath in between panicked and hitching coughs.
Andy immediately sits beside her, takes a hold of her hand and gently caresses it between her own. “I’m here, you’re ok. You’re ok, I promise.. You’re ok.”
Niles’ voice is slightly shaking when she speaks. “She said his name. She was dreaming.. well.. seemed more like a nightmare to be honest, but she- she said his name.”
Quynh looks at Andy and she really can't discern the look she currently has in her eyes. It's low and quiet, voice raw and croaky from misuse when she grits out, “S-Sébastien..”
