Chapter Text
Dear Diary,
Today , I finally learned why my mother always looked at me with such distance.
Why every glance felt cold.
Why every touch felt absent.
Why every smile belonged to someone else.
For years, I thought if I behaved well enough, studied hard enough, smiled brightly enough, she would look at me the way mothers look at their daughters.
I was wrong.
The truth is far simpler.
She never hated me because of something I did.
She hated me because of what I am.
Mt father was a monster.
And now I know I am one too.
The strange hunger.
The restlessness.
The feeling that something inside me was waiting to wake up.
It all make sense now.
Mother always knew.
I wonder if she felt relieved when she finally had proof.
I wonder if she ever loved me at all.
It's funny. The nanny who named me chose Hope because she wished my mom would one day acknowledge me.
What a cruel name.
I think tomorrow I will go looking for my father .
If monsters truly exist, then perhaps one of them owes me answers.
-Hope.
