Summary
They saved the world together, but they can’t manage to share a breakfast table.
A month after the Battle of New York, Steve Rogers moves into the Avengers Tower and realizes the "team" is a myth. The others are ghosts in the hallways, leaving Tony to deal with the silence of the massive building he built for people who aren't really there. Steve, ever the Man with a Plan,wants to fix it, so he tries to build a routine, a way to force them to be a team. But he didn't count on how hard it would be to live right next to the one man he understands the least.
What starts as a plan for team bonding turns into something else entirely. As they try to just be Steve and Tony instead of Captain America and Iron Man, they start seeing past the armor. They see the flaws, the history, and the parts of each other they both try to keep hidden.
They don’t make sense. At all. A soldier and a genius, oil and water. They try, over and over, to ignore what’s happening, but it doesn't work.
The road to a happy ending feels impossible, but in the quiet of a shared kitchen and the weight of all the things they don't say, they are starting to wonder if, just maybe, this could work.
