Chapter Text
Dazai really would love to kill himself.
He didn’t know why Mori had called him to his office, he sure hoped the omega wasn’t doing that whole ‘check in on you’ thing he sometimes does. He knew it wasn’t about his heat sense that had already passed, thank the lord.
He walked along the silent hallways. Not many mafia members came up here since it was the way to the boss, but those who did cleared out fast upon spotting the Demon Prodigy, the Black Wraith, walking. It’s what reputation did for you.
Dazai had always hated his secondary gender, he hated being an omega. He hated the expectations of being a good submissive subservient little thing that was eager to please, but Osamu was none of those things.
He was never like other omegas, he had the instincts more that of an alphas. He wanted to dominate them, watch them break down and cry and beg. He never had the instinct to submit, it was never a thing that came to him.
Mori said there was nothing wrong medically, stating it was just a weird quirk of his.
Thus, Dazai was a defective omega with alpha instincts, the only omega instincts he had ever felt were that of sounds. Nothing else.
Even his scent was more beta-like, chocolate, pine and coffee. Omegas tended to have sweeter scents but his wasn’t.
He was broken out of his thoughts as the doors to Mori’s office came into view, he sighed, pushing open the grands doors with no acknowledgment to the guards stationed outside.
Upon entrance, Chuuya was already there like a loyal dog, on time unlike Osamu who was 5 minutes late per usual.
”There you are Osamu! Come here, you and Chuuya have a mission,” Mori chirped from where he sat, if his eyes softened upon seeing Osamu, no one would know!
Dazai sighed but walked over, not without of course sticking his tongue out at Chuuya.
The air was thick of Chuuya’s scent, resulting in Dazai to let his lip curl slightly in distaste. He hated alphas who flaunt their secondary gender, not bothering to block their scents like he and Mori both did.
He refocused his attention back onto Mori as he drew himself back out of his alpha hating thoughts.
”Your mission is a long-form infiltration mission into UA high school. 3 birds with one stone, your getting information on the hero’s in training and the pro hero’s, I get rid of the little favor Nedzu has over me, and you take down the LoV, sound good?” Mori hummed, words suggesting a question but the tone was more of a statement
”Yes Boss,” Chuuya stiffly replied, always one for respect and all that!
Dazai huffed, “Do we seriously have to go bodyguard those hero wannabes?” Dazai was quick to complain, having picked up on the hint of bodyguarding the teens.
”Yes Osamu, I need to get rid of the favor Nedzu has over me and he wanted to use it on protection for his students due to public backlash,” Mori hummed, “I would be a fool to not let him use his favor on something so low scale wouldn’t I~?” Mori’s sickeningly sweet smile crept onto his face and Dazai stuck his tongue out.
”I guess, but your already a idiot anyways,” Dazai replied blandly like this was common knowledge.
”So rude to me!” Mori simply whined in a pouty tone towards the boy he had (reluctantly) grown to see as his son, well pup as they call children.
”Yeah, yeah,” Dazai rolled his eyes, “When are we leaving?” his tone shifted to be more serious as he tilted his head slightly.
”Tomorrow morning at 7, don’t be late!~” Mori chirped as Dazai was quick to walk out, dragging a squawking Chuuya behind him.
”Wha- hey let go you bastard!” Chuuya yells as tried to break away from the bandaged boys grip, surprisingly, Dazai can be quite strong when he wanted plus Dazai had the advantage of speed on his side.
”Come on Chibi! We have to go discuss mission!” Dazai teased but a hint of distain still managed to slip into his tone as he exited the office with Chuuya in tow.
Dazai always knew one of the many reasons Mori paired them together was to attempt to get Dazai over his alpha hatred, as Chuuya embodied (almost) perfectly what Dazai hated in alphas. (Not fully, Dazai reluctantly would acknowledge that).
It still had yet to work though and Dazai’s distaste was as strong as ever!
”We’re not going to that stupid shipping container!” Chuuya huffed as he finally freed himself from the other boys grip.
”Fine stupid slug,” Dazai relented, just so he didn’t have the Chibi stinking up his ‘house.’
Chuuya simply scowled in his direction at the name but didn’t dignify it with a response, leaving the two in silence with the only sound being the dog’s footsteps.
He was always so loud, Dazai long ago figured out how to completely silence his footsteps, but his dog still let his echo down the empty hallway.
They arrived at the elevator, hitting the button for the elevator; thus, leaving the two to stand there for what felt like forever before the familiar ding of the elevator dragged them both out of whatever thoughts the two had fallen into.
Dazai stepped in first, his dog hot on his heels and roughly stabbing the close doors button before, much more gently, pressing the base level.
The elevator, luckily for Dazai’s worsening mood, didn’t stop anywhere else as they dinged down on the base level floor, everyone present (that could) quickly scrambling away as the Demon Prodigy and his partner walked towards the exit.
Everyone in the mafia knew Soukoku, you were dead if you didn’t. Even outside of Yokohama people knew of Soukoku, only they didn’t know what they looked like.
Those that had to stay in place for their jobs looked down and shrunk in on themselves, no one wanted to gain the interest of Dazai.
The two left the building, heading towards the Port’s garage where Chuuya’s motorcycle was.
”Ughhhh dog do we really have to ride that beast?” Dazai groaned in protest at the thought of that vile thing.
”Yes now shut up moron,” Chuuya snapped back as he hopped onto the reddish pink motorcycle.
Dazai reluctantly climbed on as well, gripping onto Chuuya’s waist as he started it and took off.
Dazai shoved down the instinctual fear that shoved its way up his throat, god he hated this thing.
He bit down the whine that wanted to come out, the only omega instincts he had, being his sounds.
Dazai was holding onto Chuuya tightly, to tight for his own preference but his distaste for the motorcycle won out on holding loosely onto Chuuya.
His torture finally came to a stop as they arrived at Chuuya’s penthouse, parking it, Dazai practically leapt off of it, the only sound Chuuya making was a short amused huff as he followed Dazai into the penthouse.
Once they were inside, Dazai threw himself onto the couch, kicking his legs.
Chuuya sat down on the couch as well, turning to his lazy partner.
”So, mission. Talk,” Chuuya poked at Dazai.
Dazai let out a grumpy whine before relenting, “Your going to have to hold back on your ability. We can’t have them getting too suspicious,” Dazai started, “We need to get information on everyone and since Class 1-A for some reason has the LoV’s attention, we wait for them to attack and then take them out,” Dazai continued.
”Alright, so we stay however long we need to get the LoV taken care of and the information we need?” Chuuya quickly confirmed.
”Yup, after the LoV is taken care of we won’t be needed as bodyguards so information is priority one,” Dazai drawled, wanting to sleep but already knowing it wouldn’t claim him.
”Okay, seems easy enough,” Chuuya shrugged, “What do you want for dinner?” he asked the omega as he stood up to head towards the kitchen.
”I’m full,” Dazai tried, already knowing Chuuya probably knew it was a lie.
”Don’t lie to me you bastard, what do you want?” Chuuya glared at the slumped form of his partner.
”Crab,” Dazai huffed, knowing arguing over food was a fruitless effort.
”Fine,” Chuuya sighed as he set to work making the desired meal.
Dazai hummed as he looked over his thoughts, it smelt to strongly of Chuuya in here. He didn’t like the alpha tint that clang onto the otherwise pleasant scents of wine and leather.
He huffed, his feelings for Chuuya were always so weird. He felt the distain for all alphas, but if he looked deep enough he also noticed a weird fuzzy warm feeling in there. Whatever, it was probably nothing.
The smell of crab filled the air as Chuuya came close to finishing the food, Dazai sighed at the thought of eating.
He never had a big appetite, plus he lacked motivation to chew his food. It was always so tedious! But he couldn’t argue against his chibi. Wait what did he mean by his? Get that thought out of his head!
He was snapped out of his thoughts by the dog’s sudden call of the food being done. Dazai sighed and shoved himself off the couch (more like rolled) and walked over to the table where Chuuya placed down both of their plates, noticeably much more food on Chuuya’s than Dazai’s plate.
Dazai huffed, starting to poke at his food a bit before he reluctantly gathered some on the utensil and shoving it into his mouth. He chewed minimally before swallowing, crab was always a pleasant taste that it motivated him enough to continue eating.
Dazai pushed his plate away when he had eaten a bit more than half, his stomach protesting the thought of being full.
Dazai sighed and got up, already heading towards the door, “I’m leaving, got to pack and all,” Dazai threw over his shoulder as Chuuya merely scraped the rest of Dazai’s food onto his own plate.
Dazai briskly walked home, relieved to be free of the scent of the Chibi, but still pissed of whenever he smelt the scent of some random arrogant alpha who didn’t bother to put on scent blockers.
Sometimes he smelt omegas who didn’t hide their scent, but that was a rare occurrence and usually that of omegas lacking the resources to get scent blockers or running out of them. It was dangerous to not hide your scent when being an omega, people were cruel.
The most common occurrence was arrogant stuck-up alphas (usually young) who think their to good to hide their scent, sometimes betas but they have faint scents to begin with so no one really noticed them nor cared.
Dazai saw the familiar sight of his shipping container come into view, he had heard endlessly from Mori stressing he take one of the apartments he offered, Mori even tried to say he would pay rent! Dazai simply liked the shipping container better. It was simple and nice and dark.
Though he did go to those apartments whenever he took a shower, despite popular belief, Dazai is a very clean person. He doesn’t like being dirty, so maybe he might one day take up Mori on the offer.
He entered the ‘house’ he had and locked the door, flopping down onto the bed after a quick check to make sure his place was still up to his cleanliness standards.
After a good few minutes of simply laying there doing nothing, he finally got up and set to work on packing the few things he needed for the mission.
He shoved in some pairs of clothing, nothing too fancy to scream “I’m suspicious!” just some nice oversized hoodies and a few thin shirts with some thin pants and some sweatpants. He wouldn’t need to many pairs as they have uniforms anyways.
After half-heartedly picking out clothes, he packed lots of bandages, he didn’t want to run out to fast, that would just be annoying to have to explain to the person at the register why he was buying so many bandages. God, he was going to miss the people here that didn’t give two shits on what age you were buying it, as long as you paid the price, they didn’t care.
Plus, Dazai didn’t even know if they would have the brands he preferred!
He stood there thinking if anything else was necessary before throwing in heat suppressants. He didn’t know how long this mission would be so bringing them would be good even though he just had his mandatory heat.
Dazai usually suppressed his heat as much as possible, but he couldn’t completely get rid of it and Mori made sure Dazai spent at least 1 heat every 3 months.
So, if this mission dragged past that mark, he would be a bit screwed being out of commission and vulnerable. Especially with Chuuya, god no.
Dazai knew Chuuya was a good partner, work partner. He knew he would be vulnerable around the alpha sometimes, I mean he trusted the small human, but he hated the idea of spending a heat in the vicinity of the alpha. Dazai didn’t want to be that vulnerable.
Thus suppressing his heat was a must!
Dazai groaned as he realized he was going to have to live in the vicinity of hormonal, egotistical alpha teenagers who have yet to be humbled and experience the real world. Teenage alphas were the worst.
Dazai dragged himself out of his thoughts as he went back to thinking of anything else to pack, he rarely nested anymore, he knew it was unhealthy for omegas but he often just got frustrated or lazy when constructing the things.
His bed had a half-made nest that he never bothered to finish because he could never figure out what scent was missing.
Plus, he didn’t want Chuuya to see the hordes of plushies he had for his nests, he had made plenty of half-baked nests on overnight missions with the alpha, but that was never a full nest he intended on actually trying to finish and enjoy, which included his plushies.
So, he left the things in his nest on his bed (still unfinished as he couldn’t figure out the missing scent to finish it).
He decided he would take some blankets just to somewhat satisfy the omega instinct he still had, that of nesting. If he made a half-baked nest with some of his blankets from here to carry the scents he liked it would be fine.
Dazai’s only omega instincts he seemed to have were that of his sounds and nesting. Nothing else.
Now finished packing, he collapsed back into his nest, curling under the many blankets he had still in the nest, much less than before but enough to last through the night. He could grab more when he woke up.
—
As the sun rose the next day (kinda) at 6, Dazai woke up.
It was a rare day where Dazai actually slept all the way through the night, he usually woke up halfway through the night (or day depending on the time Mori summonsed him for work) than sleeping all the way through.
But today was special and Dazai wasn’t going to complain as it made it much easier to fake emotions!
He got out of his nest, grabbing some more blankets from the thing (nest) and shoving them in his suitcase before taking the thing with him on his way to one of the many apartments Mori owned nearby to try to coax Dazai into living in one.
He really only went to one to shower and stuff, entering the closest place and going to the bathroom, taking a quick shower, putting on fresh bandages and brushing his teeth before dressing in more appropriate clothing for the outside world.
Once finished, he left for the spot where he and his dog would get picked up at for the long journey to UA where they would be moving into the dorms and meeting the children they had to bodyguard.
It was going to be such a trouble having to act like aspiring hero’s around the students as they weren’t telling the students that Dazai and Chuuya were their to bodyguard them, instead saying they were transfer students. Only the staff would know they are bodyguards for class 1-A.
Dazai looked up as he noticed his dog walking over, Dazai had looked lost in thought but he was always constantly aware of every little thing happening around him even when he went into his spiraling mind.
”Hi Chibi!~” Dazai called out to his work partner, a teasing smile already on his face. He showed the slight distain that he felt upon smelling Chuuya’s scent and detecting the alpha scent in it. He hated when alphas didn’t hide their scent and Chuuya didn’t do that in the slightest expect when needed for missions.
”I told you to stop calling me that,” Chuuya huffed but his tone held a slight hint of tired acceptance indicating to Dazai that Chuuya had given up on trying to get Dazai to stop calling him that nickname.
”Never~” Dazai returned as he settled into waiting with the alpha, not having to wait long as a black car soon pulled up and the two got in, Chuuya first as always. It was a habit they had grown where Chuuya went first in case of ambush.
Dazai let out an inward groan as he realized he was going to be stuck cooped up in this car with Chuuya’s scent filling it.
”Ugh, can’t you wear scent blockers for once?” Dazai whined as he slumped his head against the window, watching the landscape go past.
”You’ll live,” Chuuya blandly replied. Ugh, so boring.
Dazai huffed but simply decided to let silence befall the car, content to distract himself by looking out the window and mulling over his thoughts and how to act around the teenagers.
He wouldn’t be able to hide his distain for alphas, he wasn’t even going to try to hide that. He could make up some sob story if questioned too much on it with some truth in there.
He knew if he said the real reason they would try to prove him wrong and put him with the alpha classmates more which Dazai would hate so a sob story would be much easier and less likely to make him get pissed off at the teens more than usual!
After the very long car ride (Dazai made sure to get his fill of annoying Chuuya throughout the drive) they finally reached their destination of Musutafu and then UA High school where what looked like a homeless dude stood outside the gates.
Dazai hopped out of the car, Chuuya following much more slowly and with a bigger air of caution, that doesn’t say Dazai wasn’t cautious but he didn’t usually make that his main energy.
The homeless looking man straightened up from where they had previously been leaning against the wall, turning to the two teens.
”Hello there! Are you here to greet us?” Dazai tilted his head in mock curiosity, a smile gracing his face as easily as a second skin.
”Yes, I’m Shota Aizawa. I’m the homeroom teacher of Class 1-A . I’ll be showing you to the dorms, the class is in school right now,” Aizawa tiredly explained in a tone that suggested he was extremely sleep deprived.
”Of course!” Dazai chided as he followed Aizawa into the gates after he scanned his ID, the only sound the chirping of birds and the crunching of Aizawa’s and Chuuya’s footsteps.
Dazai could sense the adult had many questions floating in his head, probably along the lines of why teens are body guarding other teens and why they were so cautious and blah blah blah worried pitying adult talk! So annoying!
Dazai hummed as he tried to pick up on the slightest scent from the teacher, but he had good scent blockers and had ones that also completely covered a scent, probably an underground hero then. A more out there hero would probably flaunt their scent or not care to completely mask it.
”So Aizawa-sensi (I think that’s the correct one? Idk and I don’t care really lol. I might have also misspelled it) are you an underground hero?” Dazai made sure his tone just sounded like a curious teen.
”Yes,” came the short, curt reply. Ah, so not a fun one! So boring…
Dazai turned back to Chuuya, deciding trying to anger him and get a reaction would be more stimulating and fun, quickly proven correct as the two fell into a bickering match.
Dazai could see Aizawa sigh as the two bickered behind him, speeding up his pace to try to end his suffering faster.
Soon enough, the dorm building came into view and Aizawa was quick to leave after informing them of the map and the spare room for the two.
”Well, let’s go to our room Chibi! I wanna see if there’s a good view!” Dazai sails cheerily, the 2nd part of his sentence basically saying I want to check for cameras “Or maybe if I can annoy you through the walls!” I want to check for listening devices.
”Fine, but if you can you better not annoy me!” Chuuya barked back at him as they moved up the stairs and into the shared room. Sadly, there was only one spare room (Dazai preferred to be near the Chibi anyways on these type of missions but he would never admit that).
Dazai dropped his suitcase beside the bed he preferred and take a look around the room, quickly scanning for any cameras or listening devices, after coming up empty he nodded towards Chuuya.
”No cameras or listening devices,” Dazai said in a more serious tone, “Also, do you seriously need to stink up the place with your scent, can’t you wear blockers?” Dazai huffed with a disgusted look sent his dog’s way.
”You can live with it!” Chuuya snapped surprisingly fast, he must be annoyed already if he snapped from that simple comment.
”Ughhhhh I hate you Slug!” Dazai pouted as he jumped onto his bed and sprawled out on it, he looked at the bed, already thinking of ways for a nest. Ugh, stupid omega instincts he still had left!
He unpacked the blankets he had shoved in and set to work on making a half-baked nest, not fully satisfying his instincts but enough to the point it didn’t bother him as much.
Chuuya seemed to watch as Dazai quickly made the nest, using pillows, blankets, and the main blanket already on the bed for structure. Once satisfied enough, he settled into the nest.
The two explored the dorm building a bit before the teens came here, seeing where cameras where and Dazai memorizing the entire thing, returning to their room again after a quick look around.
They sat in silence for most of the rest of the hours, Dazai taking a nap in his nest, which surprisingly felt more complete than any other nest he had made before. Huh, weird.
Dazai woke up from his nap once he heard the loud chatter of many teens entering the building, sending a grin Chuuya’s way and getting out of bed.
Time for some fun.
