Intimacy

Summary:

Akane is encouraged to explore his options outside of Aoi which puts him at the hands of a particular handsome and blonde exorcist. Unfortunately, they both really suck at communicating.

Notes:

it’s not too much sexual content if that’s what you came here for….apologies

Work Text:

“So what exactly are you into?” The man whose bed he was currently sitting on the edge of awkward, had asked him.

“Um…excuse me?” Akane responded, shoulders tensing up at how his voice came out much more bashful than he initially intended.

The prick only had the gull to snicker at his response, as he rested his head on his hand from the desk chair that he was sprawled across and smirked at him mischievously. “I didn’t take you for a prude.”

He furrowed his eyebrows irritatedly and defended himself. “I’m not! I just wasn’t expecting that question.”

“And your answer?” Teru’s eyes lit up, clearly pleased with himself at how worked up Akane was getting.

A wave of nostalgia washed over the frustrated man. It reminded him of when they were in high school together and were on the student council together.

But they were no longer in high school, and their relationship dynamic had evidently changed greatly since then.

Well, at least as of recently.

In all honesty, once Akane went off to college, in a city a few hours away from their old high school, he never expected to see the blonde again. They kept vaguely in touch for a bit through dry text when Teru had graduated but eventually their lives got busy and the text stopped coming in.

He frowned realizing he couldn’t remember who stopped reaching out to the other in the first place. Albeit, not that it mattered much considering whether they kept in touch or not, he would have never expected to be in this type of situation with the sadistic exorcist of all people.

To keep a long story short, Akane was an intern at this fairly large law corporation and they decided that they liked him so much that they would have him work under the elites of the company all the way in Tokyo.

And well, Akane was nothing but an opportunist! Or well, he tried to convince himself as such at least.

Plus, the situation could not have came at a better time for him so he felt truly relieved when his boss came running to him with the news.

When Akane had graduated high school, it didn’t come as a shock to anyone when he and his girlfriend of the time, who also happened to be his childhood best friend decided to go to the same college where they would eventually get an apartment near the school together.

That isn’t to say that their relationship had ran smoothly once they began their adult lives. In fact, the couple had broken up quite a few times throughout the course of their relationship. Eventually, Aoi had decided that it would be better for her and Akane to remain friends so that they could focus on their education.

Initially this devastated him, but he wouldn’t have cried as much if knew that he knew that her definition of ‘friendship’ varied greatly from what his definition was.

Their dynamic worked as a normal platonic pair. They weren’t affectionate in public anymore and they sat with different people occasionally during their breaks, but in private the story was a bit different.

On occasion, perhaps every week or other week, if he recalls correctly, would the purple head girl go into his room—(which before they broke things off for the last time was the guest room of the apartment)— where they would well…I’m sure you can put two in two together.

It all started on one particular night, a few days after the girls twenty first birthday, where all their friends went out to a bar together to celebrate.

All Akane could truly remember from that night was getting severely intoxicated, and he wasn’t the only one, as Aoi was right there with him most of the night matching his state of being.

Around one am had they taxied home together, where once they entered their shared apartment, quickly began to undress each other even though they had barely made it past the door.

So unsurprisingly, Akane had woken up undressed and in the girls bedroom.

When the girl had awaken, they awkwardly laughed it off and he assumed that was the end of that.

But it wasn’t.

Since then, every so often would the girl come peaking into his bedroom—or he would go looking for her— and they would explore each other’s fairly familiar bodies.

Although, they still weren’t in a relationship. She made sure to make that extremely clear with him. And that was fine with him…or so it was for a while.

In all honesty, he knew deep down this type of situation would never work for him. He was too attached to the girl to have anything casual with her.

And so, one day his jealousy got the best of him.

A particular friend of theirs, that Akane never quite liked, who he knew always had a secret thing for Aoi, even when they were dating, had been doing quite a bit of drinking and was making rather lewd remarks about his childhood friend.

Akane was forced to ignore the scorching haste that was brewing in stomach and watered it down with a few beers

It worked to ease him…for a short while.

The jerk was all over the girl now, having her trapped in a kabedon as she politely put on a strained smile and cornered herself deeper into the wall behind her, trying to put space between them.

Things went to shit when he grabbed her by her waist, with too much aggression for his liking, and she was forced to place her small hands on his chest at an attempt to push him away.

Whether there was a less violent option didn’t seem to cross Akane’s mind because just as instantly as the scene unfolded before him was the asshole instantly met with a fist to his ugly face.

Later that day, when the Aoi and Akane were alone in their apartment, did she really let him have it.

“What were you thinking?” She shrieked sounding exhausted by him.

“Why are you upset?” He scoffed genuinely confused by this reaction. “I helped you!”

“I didn’t ask for your help! I could have handled it. But you just had to go and make a big scene like you always do!” She stomped her foot in frustration.

Akane recoiled at the comment about him ‘always doing this’ as it clearly came from a place of long held resentment. Probably from when they were dating. Maybe even from before then.

“Yeah, because you were so clearly handling it…” He muttered to himself rolling his eyes.

Anger flashed in the small girls eyes which instinctively made him wince. He hated making her mad. She was surprisingly intimidating.

He and expected to get another yelling but the calmness of her voice was perhaps even worse. “You’re not my boyfriend anymore, Akane-Kun. You’re no longer responsible for me.”

“But—“ He began to defend himself, going to insist he would’ve done this for any friend, which isn’t exactly a lie, but the implication she was referencing wasn’t exactly dishonest either.

“And I’m not just talking about tonight. It’s constant. You’re always attentive to me and acting almost cautiously and doing things to not upset me.” She frowned, her voice now shaking. “We’ve been broken up for a few months now and you haven’t brought a single girl over even though I’m already openly and causally dating others.”

She walked up to him carefully and grabbed his hand in hers lightly. “You’re too kind with me.” A faint sad smile adorned her face. “Far kinder than I have been with you. I think it’s time you explore other options besides me.”

——

‘Explore other options’ were the words that had been replaying in his mind ever since that day.

What did that even mean? For as long as he could remember he had only sought after one girl and that girl was Aoi. Even on their breaks, Akane had never pursued anyone else. He had made out with a girl or two here and then when he was drunk during their breaks but that was it. And he couldn’t say he really ever liked intimacy with strangers anyways.

Nonetheless, once he arrived at Tokyo, and had the free time of course, did he obey the girls words and began exploring potential intimate or romantic pairings beside her.

But even in his most intoxicated states he couldn’t consummate direct intercourse with anyone else and instead relied on oral or hand stimulation for both his and his partners pleasure.

There’s just something about physically being inside of someone that is far too personal for him to do with just anyone.

But anyways, his exploration was going pretty lackluster to say the least, no offense to the people he had been intimate with of course. Akane was beginning to believe he was just one of those people who had to be completely infatuated with someone to really enjoy sex.

Not that it was bad thing or anything, but evidently it has been quite an inconvenience for his predicament.

When he had been intimate and was kissing Aoi, he almost always immediately felt fluttering in his stomach, warmth all over his body and blood rush to his lower abdomen. It always made him feel dizzy in the absolute best way.

These sensations were pretty tuned out with other pairings he was with. Therefore, he had naturally landed on the conclusion that he had to be in love with someone to naturally get aroused and flustered over them.

At least that’s what he had thought.

A few weeks into living in Tokyo had a particularly annoying face interrupted his life.

He had been walking towards the train station near his assigned apartment complex as unfortunately, his living situation was about a half an hour train ride from his job, when he saw an uncomfortably familiar head of blonde hair about ten feet away from where he was.

This led to him slightly crumpling the half empty coffee cup in his hand as he involuntarily yelped. “Minamoto!?”

The sudden shout caused the people around him to jump and look him strangely but he couldn’t really focus on his surrounding area when the perpetrator of this reaction turned around, with for only a short moment, a face of annoyance that quickly melted in a dumbfounded one.

Akane suddenly felt sheepish for his outburst and could sense his cheeks warm from embarrassment. Teru’s genuine looking grin as he walked up to meet the man should have put him at ease but it only caused his heart to race faster. He was nervous.

After a short and awkward chit chat did Akane explain he was in a bit of a rush and after some dramatic sulking from the blonde had Teru given him his new number and explained he would also be near the city for a while and that they should catch up soon.

He halfheartedly agreed to this not taking it seriously.

——

It proved his life pushed him towards Teru much more than he would have liked as only a few days after this did he run into the man again and this time they actually had time to do a bit of catching up. It was much nicer than Akane thought it would be.

Apparently, the blonde was near town as he had been upgraded in his exorcist duties and big cities like Tokyo or Kyoto ran rampant with these nasty creatures. There was also a lot of ancient temples in these big cities that the Minamoto clan had connections to.

So basically, Teru was still a lot cooler than him.

But still annoying as ever as he still often did and said things that annoyed him purposely. And he even made fun of his situation with Aoi, when Akane had so graciously let himself be vulnerable on a night that they went out for drinking.

Although, Akane will admit that the exorcist was also a lot more humble and less obnoxious than they were in high school.

But of course, even if he was less about vain about his looks now, the blonde was as handsome as ever. Even more so now than they were in high school considering he has truly matured and grown into his looks. Even the gash near his lip that he had gotten from fighting a supernatural couldn’t distract people away from his frustratingly good looks.

From Akane’s perspective, Teru being attractive was pretty objective by all means. As factual as the sky was blue. He wouldn’t deny it, but he also never let it get in the way of how he treated the guy. Admittedly, a large part of this due to the fact that he was always so hung up on Aoi in high school and she was absolutely angelic looking so Teru’s face, while pretty, was never something he thought about for too long.

The sadistic way that the blonde treated him for being half supernatural also did not help much.

Even as they had met again near Tokyo, Akane while feeling only slightly more flustered by the man’s looks, never really considered him as an object of true physical attraction. That idea felt way too outrageous and slightly perverted for the likes of him.

So you could imagine his bewilderment on a day where Teru had showed up to his complex stumbling over his feet and slurring his words had unexpectedly kissed him while Akane was only leaning down towards the blondes face to examine a seemingly fresh bruise that Teru had gotten on his cheek from falling face first onto the floor.

Akane froze, eyes widening in slight horror at the unexpected act. He felt his face burn almost instantly, his situation only made worse when he noticed that Teru hadn’t closed his eyes and instead was observing him with half lidded eyes as he kissed him. His heart felt like it was going to explode out of his chest.

Once the shock had passed, did Akane perhaps shove the drunken man a bit too harshly, had jumped backwards and yelped. “What are you doing!?”

Teru looked like a kicked puppy. “I wanted to kiss you. I thought you wanted to, too. You were staring at my lips.”

“You—wha—no I wasn’t!” Akane wasn’t sure which statement to assess first.

Had he been?

He took a deep breath because his tone of voice was coming out far too high pitched for his liking. “Look Minamoto, you’re drunk, and clearly upset about something to have had gotten this drunk. I don’t think you want to kiss me. You want closeness.”

Therapist of the year award should seriously go to him Akane thought rather proudly.

“That’s not true.” Teru pouted, still looking quite hurt by the situation but his feelings were probably all big due to his intoxicated state, Akane rationalized.

The guy wanting to kiss him was just way too strange to be true. Teru could have anyone he wanted. And Akane knew he wasn’t ugly or anything but come on. Teru Minamoto and him? That’s ridiculous. He snickered at the mere thought of it.

Still…something about the way the exorcist was looking at him made him feel all sorts of guilty about his reaction to the situation. It just might almost convince him that the guy did have a slight crush on him. Or at least an attraction.

“Whether it’s true or not, I’m not going to kiss you while you’re so clearly drunk.” Akane scolded the man.

Teru only sighed defeatedly at this and sprawled himself across Akane’s bed with a dramatic groan that made him snicker.

The blonde felt asleep shortly after this and the next day didn’t seem to recall anything and Akane didn’t really want to remind him.

So he decided to try and forgot about it. If it wasn’t worth remembering for Teru, it shouldn’t be for him. Even if for some reason that idea made his stomach ache and chest feel emptier.

———

Akane pressed sloppy kisses all over the blondes face as he moved his lips all the way down towards Teru’s pale neck.

When Akane pulled away from peppering the guys neck with bites that may or may not leave bruises to catch his breath the pair momentarily made eye contact.

Teru’s face was flushed with a faint crimson that reached his ear, and his eyebrows were scrunched wearily as if trying to keep his composure. He averted his gaze too quickly when he caught Akane staring and punched his shoulder while attempting to cover his face with his other arm.

Akane was mesmerized.

After finding out that Aoi had apparently gotten a new boyfriend that she was showing off on her social medias did Akane find himself wallowing in a pit of despair.

Apparently, it was quite evident as two weeks later since the news did he run into Teru at the train station where he was quickly pestered about his down mood.

When Akane begrudgingly told him, the blonde frowned sympathetically and awkwardly comforted him before going off to do whatever exorcist duties he was there for.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t the only time Teru saw him in this miserable state as only two days later had they happened to run into each at the same bar, where they were both alone.

Akane was obviously there to numb his feelings and he would’ve asked Teru why he was also there if not for his already fairly tipsy state of being.

But it seemed that Teru was right there with him considering the slight slur in his speech.

When the blonde had been hit on too many times at the for his liking, did he decide that he would just buy drinks at a liquor store near his apartment and drink there and invited Akane to go along with him.

After slight hesitation, he agreed.

Akane was surprised that the blonde wasn’t as drunk as he thought considering he walked just fine and knew the direction to his apartment fairly easily. Akane suddenly felt embarrassed by his surely sloppy movements.

His embarrassment was justified when Teru sighed with a small smile and grabbed his arm to lead him the rest of the way to the liquor store near his apartment.

He prayed that the flush on his face from the touch wasn’t noticeable.

But he supposes it didn’t really matter either way as he would end up tangled in the blondes limbs by the end of the night anyways, where he was sure that his face was permanently adorned with a flush from both booze and physical tension.

Akane smiled, feeling his chest flutter at Teru’s bashful reaction to him spoiling his face and neck with his licks and sucking. He captured the exorcists lips with his own—only tasting booze but it didn’t bother him much as he was sure that he tasted the same— and gently pawed at the hand over Teru’s face, urging him to remove it.

“I want to see your face.” Akane cooed, the statement coming off much more whiny and less seductive than he was going for.

Teru blushed at this and complied but something in his eyes looked off. “Why?” He asked a bit too sternly for a guy who was being straddled by another person.

Akane furrowed his brows in concern at the sudden change of mood. “Because…I think you look good?”

What a charmer he was.

To no one’s dismay, this was apparently the wrong response as Teru propped himself up on his shoulders to better analyze Akane. He raised an unimpressed brow. “Since when?”

Huh?

Why was this guy being so blatantly difficult right now! It was seriously killing Akane’s buzz.

“I-I don’t know!” Akane stuttered out too loudly and defensively but he was now confused and frustrated in more ways than one. “What’s with the sudden QnA?”

The blonde continued staring at Akane as if disappointed by something and eventually sat all the way, and Akane sensing the moment had passed removed himself from the position he had the guy in and instead joined him in leaning back against the blondes bed frame.

They sat in silence for a few moments before Akane anxiously turned his head to the side to get a look at the exorcist he was previously straddling. But the taller man was already looking at him and didn’t look away when their eyes caught each other. Akane averted his gaze first as if he was the one so shamelessly staring at the other.

“Haaahh.” Teru let out a long tired laugh that made Akane jump.

When the blonde didn’t elaborate, Akane shot him a glare. “What?”

“You say stupid stuff when making out.” He snickered.

Akane felt his face burn at this and defended himself. “It didn’t look like you were complaining much during it.”

“I guess not.” The man hummed in agreement.

Akane couldn’t hold back the question that was eating him alive so harshly that his stomach churned with such anxiety it made him want to vomit. Or perhaps that was just the result of the amount of drinks he had prior to this interaction. Either way. It didn’t feel good.

“So why’d you stop?” He tapped his fingers on the bed, nervously waiting for a response as the room filled with silence.

Teru lifted his head to look at the ceiling unsettling calm as he finally replied “I suppose I just don’t think our first time should go like this.”

He wanted to tear his heart out from frustration at the vague response and how his mind twisted it into something perhaps more lewd than the blonde was suggesting. But yet again, the exorcist was always quite ambiguous in his wording, so maybe he wasn’t too far off. He grit his teeth at how his body felt warm at the thought.

When Akane didn’t respond, Teru peeled himself from the bed they were both motionlessly sitting on and offered a fatigued smile. “Let’s talk about it in the morning. It’s late. You can sleep in the guest room I have for when my siblings are in town.”

“Right.”

———

Akane had woken up with one of the worst headaches from his life, and this time he couldn’t completely blame it on alcohol.

He had been hoping that his intoxicated state would have him forget everything that happened last night but everything was still so vividly clear that he wanted to hurl.

He didn’t exactly remember how he ended up on top of his former rival from high school, but it undoubtedly happened if how his swollen his lips felt were anything to go off of.

God this was humiliating!

It’s not like he even liked Teru in a romantic sense, he’s pretty sure of it at least. I mean he was just sobbing over Aoi getting a boyfriend like a week ago.

So perhaps this was purely physical attraction? He slapped his face hard at that thought. For some reason that idea felt even worse.

He was so conflicted right now. Perhaps everything could just be blamed on the drinks the two had and they could forget it all happened. But what is that saying again? Drunk actions are sober thoughts?

Too bad he didn’t have much time to dwell on that idea as without knocking, Teru swung the door to his room open.

The blondes hair was damp and he was in a pair of jeans and a casual long sleeve shirt which indicated he must’ve been up for a while now. “Ah, you’re awake. Do you need an aspirin?” He politely smiled.

Akane’s insides twisted unpleasantly, still feeling sheepish from the night before. It was only made even worse with how casual the latter was being. It made him feel like he was the one who was overreacting about this whole thing.

Ignoring the pounding in his head, Akane responded. “I’m fine.”

Teru nodded his head in acknowledgment. “You should eat something. Let’s have breakfast.”

“I don’t want anything if you’re cooking it.” Akane grimaced.

“How rude.”

Akane felt extremely anxious. He wasn’t sure what he was supposed to do in this scenario. Should he ask Teru about last night? Or should they act like it had never happened. For some reason that felt even more unbearable.

Looking off towards the side, Akane blurted out, hating to beat around the bush. “Do you remember what happened last night?”

“Oh.” Teru leaned on the side of the doorframe and hesitated. “Yes. I do recall the events from yesterday.” He finally settled on without looking at him.

That caused him to cringe as he sensed the paling of his face from the clarification. He was really hoping that Teru had been so wasted that he would magically forget everything by morning. But he should’ve known better than to get his hopes up.

“I—“ Akane began but paused realizing he didn’t really have anything prepared. “We were drunk.”

“Indeed.”

There was a long pause before Akane spoke up again.

“So it didn’t mean anything.”

Teru only slowly nodded in agreement.

The lack of responses only made his frustration and nerves double.

“So let’s forget it ever happened.” He spat too urgently.

The room was filled yet again with an obnoxiously long silence that made Akane want to crawl out of his skin and die.

The reply that Teru gave didn’t help either.

“No.”

“Excuse me?” His eyebrow twitched and his mouth went agape.

The insane guy placed his palm on his chin and looked up as if lost in thought. “I guess I just don’t want to ignore what happened between us.”

Akane was gobsmacked, the man’s response not being something he had prepared for at all.

Against his will, he stuttered out, feeling completely confused. “W-why not?”

Teru stared at him for a moment and then looked down, looking almost shy. With a dry laugh he finally uttered. “I want it to happen again.”

The retaliation that he had prepared in his throat instantly died by how blindsided he was from the exorcists admission. He blinked rapidly and rubbed his eyes, unsure of if he was dreaming or not.

Based on the overt eye roll he received in return for these actions. He wasn’t.”

“Why—“ He cringed at how his voice cracked and swallowed, trying to calm his jitters. “Want it to happen again? I don’t understand.” He knit his eyebrows together in confusion.

Impatience flashed momentarily through the blondes face before it was just as quickly replaced with one of pity. Both expressions made him uneasy.

The twist and turning in his stomach was made worse when Teru walked towards him and sat across from him on the bed and he began explaining. “It’s become apparent to me that both of our romantic lives have been in a bit of a rut as of lately.“

This didn’t really settle his disorientation. “What does that have to do with anything? Are you saying you have feelings for me, Minamoto?” His eyes widened as he said it and he let out a gasp.

The bastard just snickered at him in response. “No.” He then hesitated as it seemed a thought crossed his mind. “Well, not in the sense you’re thinking of at least.”

Akane furrowed his brows and frowned in irritation at the vagueness of the man’s words. “The hell are you going on about then? Spit it out already.”

Teru faintly frowned in disapproval at his harsh tone but continued on with his revelation anyways. “Your love life with Akane-San is over on the accounts that she has a new romantic partner. While you two were broken up, she encouraged you to explore other viable partners, yet you came to the understanding that you couldn’t pursue them much further than a day on the accounts of them being strangers.”

When Akane didn’t respond Teru looked at him with a stern expression. “Correct?”

“That’s the gist of it, I guess.” Akane murmured out reluctantly, feeling externally embarrassed at just how vulnerable he has gotten with the guy apparently.

Teru nodded at the acknowledgment and relaxed his shoulders. “Well, I am not a stranger.”

Akane felt warmth crawl up his neck and to his cheeks when he finally put the two in two together of what Teru was trying to saying.

He laughed far too loudly and nervously for his liking and he accidentally caused the blonde to jump a little, surprised by this reaction.

Akane rubbed the back of his neck and averted his gaze from the man as the ceiling suddenly became incredibly interesting to him. “Hahhh. What are you even saying, Minamoto? Do you hear yourself? I think the drinks from yesterday are still messing with your head.”

When Akane was only met with an incredulous stare he continued. “And even if you are serious about this, even though I really doubt it, I wouldn’t accept.”

Teru raised a brow looking and his eyes slightly widened as he seemed surprised by this combat. “Why?”

“Well,” Akane bit his lip and sighed before proceeding. “It just doesn’t really sound fair to you.”

Wait. Teru would never offer to do something so generously without there being a reason for it.

And judging by the smug smirk the blonde gave him, Akane sensed he found out when he received these rightful suspicions.

“What’s your ulterior motive from this, Minamoto?” He pointed an accusing finger at the taller man.

Teru feigned innocence. “It’s hurtful of you to assume I have one, Aoi.”

“Spit it out.”

The unenthusiastic sigh Akane received didn’t align with the mischievous glint in Teru’s eyes.

“Well you see, as of lately, my exorcist duties have been weighing on me quite heavily, and evidently I haven’t had much time to pursue any potential pairings for myself. You could see how this would cause quite some frustration overtime.”

Akane’s lips wavered at the crudeness of the insinuation. “Okay, so you’ve been horny. That doesn’t explain why you’re asking me of all people to help you. Can’t you have like literally anyone you want?”

Which was an extremely valid point considering Teru was like the best looking guy he has ever met and was sure that anyone would be absolutely thrilled at the prospect of spending a night with the man.

“Aha. Perhaps that is true. But nonetheless, I still have an image to uphold as part of the Minamoto clan. It would be extremely inconvenient if word got out that the eldest son of the clans leader was sleeping around with strangers.” He shuddered as if talking from experience.

“So in other words, you trust me to keep this between ourselves.” Akane stated mater of factly even though for some reason he didn’t feel quite satisfied by the explanation.

Akane didn’t notice but Teru pursed his lips in thought for a moment before he decidedly crawled across the bed to sit closer to him.

“It is true that this plan is convenient as it essentially kills two birds with one stand, but it is not the only reason I am proposing it.”

The hesitant man turned his head to look at the blonde with curiosity written all across his face and he was greeted by a playful smirk.

“What’s the other reason?”

“I find you quite interesting, Aoi.” He smiled so genuinely that Akane’s heart couldn’t but palpitate. “So think about it.”

And that’s all Akane needed to hear, so before he lost the nerve, he pulled Teru in by the collar of his shirt and pressed a chaste kiss on the blondes lips.

It was quick and experimental. When Akane reeled his head back, Teru’s expression was completely calm. At least that’s what he would have thought if it weren’t for the subtle pink coloring that appeared on his ears.

This amused Akane greatly as it settled any doubts he was having.

He let out a laugh of disbelief. “So you really are attracted to me. Why couldn’t you just say that?” He snickered the last part.

The latter narrowed his eyes at him and huffed. “You’re alright.” Teru paused momentarily. “Why’d you do that?”

“I guess I just wanted to make sure you weren’t messing with me or something.” He shrugged.

“That’d be an awfully weird thing to joke about.”

“So not exactly beyond you.”

Teru sighed, feigning sadness. “You think so lowly of me Aoi.” He pouted. “That makes it all the more perverted you agreed pretty eagerly to exploring each others bodies.”

Blood rushed to his face and Akane wasn’t too sure if it was out of frustration or embarrassment, nonetheless he quickly defended himself. “You’re the one who proposed it. Doesn’t that make you some sort of a masochist?”

Shockingly, Teru only smiled at him with a mischievous twinkle in his eyes. “Perhaps.”

Akane’s stomach did a flip and he quickly averted his gaze which made the exorcist laugh.

He continued. “Well then, I suppose we should get started.”

“Right now!?” Akane yelped in bewilderment.

Teru tilted his head. “Oh, I just assumed it would be best for us to gauge our chemistry sooner rather than later. It would be such a waste for us to set a date just for things to end up being lackluster.” He then smiled apologetically. “But if you’re not up for it yet then we can wait until you prepare yourself.”

Akane couldn’t believe the nerve of this guy! The way he was acting so non-chalant and prepared for this was seriously pissing him off.

How was he so calm? Had he done this with someone before? Akane didn’t want to think about it.

Either way, it’s not like he was going to back out now. He had way too much pride for that and the blonde knew it. He was just cruelly teasing him at this point.

He grit his teeth and glared at the rather smug man. “Sure, whatever. Let me just brush my teeth.”

“Your enthusiasm excites me.” Teru remarked sarcastically.

The brunette stuck out his tongue and made his way to the bathroom as he tried to calm the rapid thumping in his chest.

——

Once he was done with the chore, he reluctantly made his way into Teru’s room.

It’s not like the idea wasn’t incredibly appealing to him. It was quite exhilarating, but he was having his doubts about the whole thing.

I mean what if mid session, Teru decides he really doesn’t want to this and that he suddenly found Akane unappealing. That would be seriously humiliating. Or worse! What if it was all one elaborate prank to screw with his head.

Too bad these completely valid concerns had died in his throat when he walked into Teru’s room and the blonde was sitting at his desk scrolling on his phone and when he looked up and saw Akane he perked up instantly.

Akane kicked himself for thinking it was kind of alluring and fidgeted with the hem of his shirt, avoiding eye contact with Teru, as he sat on his bed.

“U-Um so…” Akane cleared his throat. “How should we start.”

“Hah. Someone’s a bit eager. I was thinking we could lie the ground rules of this first.”

“Right.” He grit his teeth, tasting the mint from the toothpaste, as his ears burned.

“So, for starters, what exactly are you into?”

“Excuse me?” The brunette spluttered.

Teru smirked for a second, quite amused at the reaction. “I didn’t take you for a prude.”

“I’m not! I just wasn’t expecting that question.”

“And your answer?”

Akane swallowed dryly as he clenched the bed sheets he was leaning on with cosntemplatation.

The blonde with a sympathetic frown, got up from his seat and towered over the man before hesitantly offering a few pats to his head. Akane gave him a weird look.

“Perhaps I’ve been too forward. You can back out now if you’d like. We can pretend nothing happened like you wanted before.” He suggested rather sadly. “I’m not really sure what I was thinking. It was rather selfish of me to bring that upon you even after what happened last night.”

Akane observed how his fingers twitched and as Teru backed up from him, he grabbed one of his wrist with a bit too much desperation.

“No, I do—I want this.”

Teru had the gull to actually look surprised by this notion which made Akane scoff and softly punch his shoulder.

“Just shut up and do something before I change my mind.”

Akane quickly regretted his choice of wording, firstly because it made him sound kind of douchey, and secondly because it made the man in front of him tilt his head as he had an unreadable grin on his stupidly pretty face.

He was met with mesmerizing blue eyes that observed him through long blonde lashes as Teru leaned down and looked at him with a curious but content expression on his face.

His heart fluttered and eyes widened in surprise when he was met with a soft kiss to his forehead.

Instinctively he tensed at the physical touch and Teru ran his long fingers through Akane’s hair “Was that okay?”

Akane’s voice practically came out in a squeak “Yeah—that’s fine. I’ll tell you when I don’t like something. So do whatever you feel is right, I guess.” He rubbed his sweaty palms against his shorts

He was dumbfounded when Teru just snickered in his face. “I’m getting the impression you don’t really know what you like.”

And to be fair, the guy had a point. Akane only ever knew that he liked Aoi so doing anything with her felt amazing. So basically, he liked anything Aoi liked.

Although he had a feeling that isn’t something he should share at this moment so he stayed silent.

Teru sighed and shook his side to side with a pitiful smile as he pushed Akane’s chest a bit further down the bed to the point he was forced to lean on his elbows. “That’s fine. I can show you.”

Instinctively, Akane tilts his head to the side as he invites Teru in. He closes his eyes expectantly.

When their lips finally touch, it ironically feels a lot clumsier than the kiss they had shared the previous night. This causes both of them to erupt into nervous giggles.

“This isn’t as sexy as I thought this was going to be, Minamoto.” Akane teases, challenging the taller man.

Judging by the playful glint in his blue eyes, this was a challenge that was accepted.

Teru kneels himself on the bed, only inches away from practically sitting on Akane’s lap and Akane feels his mouth go dry at the proximity.

“You’re quite picky, Aoi. Just relax yourself.” He coos, experimentally placing his hands on his shoulders as he leans in to where his face is near Akane’s ear. “Remember how good you were being last night? Like that.”

He shivered and cringed at the memory of how out of character he was being due to his drunken state. He hated how the bastard was using it against him and how it slightly turned him on.

So he retaliated, by kissing Teru hard. Their teeth clashed in a painful manner and Akane felt the blonde wince but that didn’t stop him. The pain was the only thing he could clearly focus on. The only thing he felt in control of.

Albeit, Akane wasn’t a sadist or masochist so as an apology he pulled Teru down by the neck of his shirt, slowly and gently deepening their kiss.

Teru reacted positively to this, as he hummed into it and was no completely in between the brunettes legs, which gave him pretty good leverage to do as he pleases, even if the height difference made it feel a bit awkward at first.

The makeout wasn’t friendly or polite. They both kissed each other like they had something to prove. Teru’s hands were tangled in Akane’s hands for the most part until he slid them down to rest on his waist. It wasn’t aggressive but it was firm.

Akane finally pulled back for air to question the move but any questions died in his throat when the blonde used his tongue to caress Akane’s bottom lip. He felt his face visibly warm.

He opened his mouth slightly, allowing more entry and Teru’s tongue eagerly entered his mouth.

It made Akane think about the times he’s french kissed people who weren’t Aoi. It felt gross and wrong. But when it was Teru Minamoto’s tongue in his mouth, his whole idea of kissing with tongue flipped.

This might be due to the fact that instead of gagging on a mouthful of intrusive tongue, like with other partners, the blonde teased him. Only offering soft flickers that would lightly press against his lips and own tongue, never feeling like enough.

It proved to be rather frustrating as after a few minutes Akane moved his hands from Teru’s chest to his shoulders as he pulled him in closer, while simultaneously rolling his own tongue more desperately into the latter.

When Teru pulled his head back, instead of giving into Akane’s neediness, he began to protest. “Hey! Why’d you—!”

He had to bite his lip to keep from making any embarrassing noises when the blonde began to trace his tongue along the side of his neck near his ear, down to his collarbone.

Akane wasn’t aware that he could ever feel so good off of simple pecking but there he was, wrinkling the sheets as he clenched them in embarrassment and pleasure.

“Ouch!” Akane yelped, furrowing his brows, when he felt a particularly hard bite that he could tell would be directly under his left jaw. “You better not be leaving any hickeys, Minamoto.”

“I was just repaying the favor.” He pouted as he pointed towards a few subtle marks that were left around his own neck.

Akane’s glare quickly turned into a sheepish frown with a deep blush spreading across his face. Did he do that? Surely he would have remembered marking the exorcist as if he owned him. He swears to God that he will never get drunk again as apparently he just keeps humiliating himself.

He mumbled an apology.

“Speak up, Aoi.” Teru smirked.

“I said that I apologize.” He spit through gritted teeth.

“I don’t think I believe you.” He sighed exaggeratedly. “Prove it.”

“P-prove it?” He sputtered.

“Yes.” The blonde got up from between his legs and lied his back on the bed frame and crossed his legs. “Actions speak louder than words~” He teased.

“I—um okay.” Akane crawled to be kneeling in front of him. He placed his arms around Teru’s waist and then switched to his shoulders because of how the blonde tensed at the touch. “Is this okay?”

Teru gave him a bored glance.

“Don’t look at me like that!”

“Hah. You’re quite bad at this. Is this what act what Akane-San was into?”

“Don’t talk about her.” Akane warned as he sunk his nails into the blonde.

In a twisted turn of things, the man seemed to enjoy this judging by how his pupils dilated at the threat.

Oh. So that’s what the guy was into. Akane has a sudden epiphany and failed to fight back how his lips twisted upwards.

God, that made a lot of sense.
He must’ve been making a face judging by the way Teru raised a brow at him.

Akane only leaned forward with a smug expression as he tilted his head to the side and laced one of his hands through the man’s blonde hair. When it got to the back of his head he gave it a slight tug which made Teru let out a small gasp in surprise.

Teru’s expression twisted into a scowl but Akane didn’t miss how warmth crept up his pale and marked neck.

“What was that—“ The annoyed man began but was swiftly cut off by a push forward that was guided by Akane’s own hands, and his mouth was shut up by the brunettes own.

Unsurprisingly, he was quite receptive to this, and finally rolled his full tongue down Akane’s throat, almost aggressively. The threat only made Akane smile into the kiss.

Eventually, Akane did need air so he used his grip on the blondes hair to seperate themselves and he was quite amused with the sight.

Teru was pretty, as always of course. But there was a sloppiness to it he had never seen before. His hair was ruffled into different places, his face was flushed and starting to form sweat, and his lips were swollen to a brighter color.

Pride bubbled in his chest at the sight.

“What’s with that expression? I did good?” He smirked feeling smug but also wanting reassurance.

He did not get it.

Teru blinked looking daze floor a few seconds before snapping back into his unreadable polite smile. “I’m glad to see you had your fun.”

Ha. That egotistical jerk. Would never so voluntarily give Akane directly what he wants.

Perhaps it was the mood of it all, but Akane had began to find it slightly endearing.

Too bad that the short term endearment was replaced with its usual frustration once the exorcist had seemingly immobilized Akane and flipped his back onto the mattress hardly.

“What the—“

The blonde who towered over him shut him up swiftly with a soft kiss to his lips. Too bad it contrasted with the unfriendly areas the taller man’s hands started to grab.

Akane gasped at the arousing and gentle prodding of the man. Teru’s right hand pressed his waist down into the mattress and his left was fiddled with the band of his shorts. He involuntarily arched into the touch and grabbed the blondes arm to stable himself.

He was sure that he was probably flushed and sweaty from effort and humiliation and it irritated him beyond belief. But he’d be a madman id he told the guy to stop.

So instead, he hid his shameful reactions by using his arm to cover half his face as Teru nipped down his torso as he slowly began peeling his shirt off of him.

“Shit—“ Akane’s voice came out way more whiny than he intended. “Minamoto, is all you know how to do is tease.” He scowled breathlessly due to the licks and hickeys he was sure that he was receiving along the side of his torso.

With a pout, Teru sat up and got into a position to where he was straddling Akane and the man had to bite back a moan from how nice the pressure felt. “Why are you covering your face? That’s no fun.”

Akane was forced to use his elbows to prop himself up to directly look at the tall man in this position so he could properly look at the blonde. He was going for a ‘seriously’ look but due to his current state, where his forehead beaded with sweat and his shirt was lifted halfway off his body, the effect did not come across as disdainful as intended.

It at least got the blonde to beam at him, even as he snorted. “Not really the expression I was expecting but it’s nice to finally see you again.”

“Yeah, yeah.”

Akane winced when Teru grabbed his ear and forced him to look at him in an angle to where the noses nearly bumped.

“You were a lot more talkative last night you know.”

“Excuse me?”

Teru laughed as if recalling an inside joke and began tracing his finger along Akane’s jaw. “Yeah, don’t you remember? You were all like, ‘this feels so good’, ‘you’re doing great’, ‘you’re so gorgeous and sexy’.” He mocked.

“You’re exaggerating it. And I did not say that last part.” He defended as he shoved his palm over the guys mouth. He recoiled it when he received a lick to it in retaliation.

“It was the gist of it.”

“I think your drunken brain fuzzed up the memories. And I recall you being rather needy as well, Minamoto.” He replied while resting his head the taller man’s shoulders and angled it so that he could properly suck on it.

Akane quite enjoyed how the action made the blondes breath quicken pace and he leaned his head back so that the brunette could have better access.

He nipped up to his jaw as he began using his hands to explore the blondes body. He placed his hand on Teru’s thigh and used his thumbs to rub circles on his skin.

Their lips connected again and it was slower but heavier, like there was more of a weight behind it.

He had barely began lifting the exorcists shirt when he was pushed away aggressively.

Teru’s eyes widened, surprised by his own actions. There was a look in his eyes that Akane had never seen before. Shame.

“I—um—“ Teru cringed at the anxiety in his voice. He wasn’t used to it. “Don’t.”

He tilted his head to the side curiously. “Sorry. I should have asked.” He added genuinely. “You seem a bit spooked, are you okay?”

There was no response. But Akane’s eyes followed Teru’s.

Ah.

He picked up one of the scarred hands that the exorcist glanced for a split second and caressed it with a softness he had only ever shown the girl he loved.

“They’re cool.”

“What?”

“Your scars, I mean, they’re cool. You know, has a badass appeal to them.”

The blonde furrowed his brows. “Are you making fun of me?”

His heart dropped and he squirmed. “No! Of course not. I’m being serious. I mean I know the meaning of them might not be pretty or anything but…”

It took all of his courage to fully pick up and place his own two hands over the one he was formerly caressing. “All I’m saying is that you shouldn’t feel bad about your scars. It doesn’t make you any less appealing. You’re like the prettiest guy ever either way, annoyingly enough.”

He has been expecting to be made fun of for his attempt at encouragement but he thinks that what he was met with was much worse.

The infuriatingly handsome guys eyes were blown back and lips slightly parted. Akane ripped his gaze away as he felt his chest flutter. God, what was with that face? It’s not like Teru was any stranger to compliments.

It looked like the exorcist was about to say something but was promptly interrupted by a loud ringing. They ripped their bodies off each other so quickly that Akane swears he almost got whiplash.

Akane was familiar with the ring. The jingle that played was the one Teru’s phone made when he got a call. It was way too upbeat and when played for too long made Akane want to rip off his ears.

He’d begged the blonde to change the ringtone various times but it’s been to no avail.

Teru begrudgingly got up from the bed and grabbed the phone that sat on his desk. When he answered he left the room, leaving Akane feeling cold, embarrassed and annoyed.

He still couldn’t believe what was happening. The whole thing still felt incredibly confusing to him but he was too invested at this point to back out. Well, it’s not like he wanted to back out either, but still!

After barely a minute the blonde came back and gave Akane a sympathetic smile while rubbing the back of his neck.

At least Akane wasn’t stupid as he immediately peeled himself from the man’s bed with an upset frown.

He waved the blonde off as he tried to push past him from the doorway. “I get it. I’m going.”

Teru stoped him by placing his hand on his shoulder and looked down at him with a frown. He looked thoughtful for a second before shaking his head and walking past Akane.

And Akane assumed that was the end of that.

——

That was until a day later at around seven at night his phone buzzed.

‘2 new messages from Minamoto Teru’

‘come over tonight’

‘if you can…lol’

And so it was the first of many that Akane anxiously and enthusiastically made his way toward Teru’s apartment building for much more than conversation.
