    "How do I make it up to you?" Kai asks.

    Damon squeezes his hand again. "You don't have to do anything."

    That feels so wrong though. Kai needs to make sure Damon forgives him. But how can he do that? So many of his bones are still broken. He does not have it in him to fake being like how he was before this accident either, which he knows will make Damon so happy if he thinks Kai is becoming normal again. All he can offer is his weak body.

    Ok. He will offer his body then. There is not much to use but maybe Damon will still appreciate it.

    Kai is too aware of how Damon is always there for him when Toshiko's attempt to kill him fails.
