A Reincarnated Spark

Summary:

Adoptable fic idea

Work Text:

Prowl sacrificed himself to save the AllSpark. But it doesn't end there.

A young bot who looks like g1 Prowl is born after the events of season three. His teacher is Arcee and she nicknames him Prodigy after how naturally smart he already is.

But Prodigy knows things he probably shouldn't yet. Why does he keep getting these weird dreams that feel like someone else's life? And why does he feel like there's a voice in his head warning him about something?

After accidentally running into some Decepticons trying to break Megatron out of jail, Prodigy meets Optimus who's distinctly reminded of Prowl for some reason.

Suddenly the voice in Prodigy's head uses his voice to speak up and warns Optimus about there being something wrong with the AllSpark before he was cut silent.

The Autobots figure out that Prodigy must be Prowl's reincarnation but they've never heard of dead bots speaking through their reincarnations before. Jazz theorizes it might be because of the way Prowl sacrificed himself to join the Allspark.

Prodigy doesn't really know what's going on other than that Prowl is getting more insistent about something bad about to happen and that the Decepticons are still trying to rescue their leader.

Meanwhile, Prodigy is still uncomfortably trying to remember Prowl's memories as the Autobots who knew Prowl on Earth try to bond with him. They basically see Prodigy as a miracle and that they can have their friend back, but Prodigy doesn't really remember them and he feels that he's not really Prowl, he just used to be.

This results in a couple of existential crises and Prodigy somehow feeling inferior to himself. Well, past self, but same thing.

Hang on, was that Starscream as a ghost?

Yeah, he's back, and he's trying to control the powers of the AllSpark to take over Cybertron and get revenge on everyone who ever wronged him.

Which, considering how annoying Starscream is, is basically everybody.
