You wake up in the morning and put on your jacket, immediately. You look around to see what you want to do today and your hand absentmindedly moves to your mouth and you bit your knuckle lightly. You look around, not noticing the way your eyes gaze with the innocence of someone that has a bedtime of 8 pm. You get dressed in a bunch of baggy clothes and your only pair of shoes. As you leave the house, you decide to go to the coffee shop that has all the Paras in it since it would be a nice place to draw.
On your way there, you notice that someone is giving you a disgusted look but you don't pay too much attention to it as you go into the cafe. You walk up to the counter and Rethu is at the counter. They speak a little loudly and you flinch from the sudden, loud noise. "Morning! what can I get for you?" They notice your flinch and tilt their head. "Are you feeling ok?"
You groan softly from how loud they are for you, even thought Rethu, in actuality, is speaking at a perfectly normal volume. You go sit in one of the comfy chairs and curl up, listening to music and trying to calm down. After a minute, someone taps your shoulder and you look up and see the pretty fairy lady standing next to you. She speaks very softly to you "Excuse me, ma'am, do you have a headache by chance?"
You look up at her with suspiciously wide and innocent eyes, nodding softly and curling back up. You remember that one video you saw where this person was teaching everyone to say different foods in sign language and then ask for a cookie and a hot chocolate. You forgot exactly how to say please and just whisper "peas?.."
Bob smiles softly as you hand her your card to pay with and walks away to get the things you asked for. "Of course. I'll be right back with that."
You sit there and slowly uncurl and start drawing. You draw a small flower and then start sketching out Rethu, partially because they look cool and a little because you want to give them the drawing as a sort of apology for flinching when they spoke. Everything is so loud today anyway so hopefully they'll understand.
You've gotten Rethu's general form down when Bob walks back up with your card, chocolate chip cookies, and hot chocolate. "Here you go, ma'am."
You get a bit weirded out when she calls you ma'am and make a look and a small sound that makes it obvious where you stand being called that. It doesn't quite fit right now, though usually you're fine with it, even if you're not a woman, because of how long your hair is. You try to speak but words escape you and you just sign thank you. A simple enough gesture.
Bob looks down at your drawing and softly asks. "Is that Rethu you're drawing?" You nod and she smiles "It looks great. enjoy your food."
You nod and then spend a good 2 minutes intensely staring at Rethu before going back to drawing, taking the time to memorize the details so that you can put them on paper. After about 20 minutes, You've gotten most of Rethu's upper body but their tail is moving around constantly so you just stare at the drawing while you remake it bigger on a different sheet of paper. You start humming since you noticed that it's pretty dead.
This time, since you're not just making it tiny, Rethu notices and the cafe is empty enough at this time that they have time to come over and look just as you're about to finish the bigger drawing. "Is that me?" You look down at it and, now seeing the whole thing, it looks like someone just stuck a sketch filter on a photo of Rethu. You nod and reach up to hand it to them. "You want me to keep it?" You nod and they take it, smiling "Thank you. It looks amazing."
You keep drawing and humming after that, drawing everyone in the cafe if they stayed long enough to be drawn before going home for the day.
