Chapter Text
Tubbo had lots of problems currently, sure he always had problems having to fix his factory after every morning being one of those current predicaments, but sure, he had lots of lava flowing down there at that reservoir, but it wasn't as simple as that, it never is, he wouldn't have a problem if that was the case!
He had a problem with his little side project, the one thing that had been taking more and more of his time (both figuratively and literally!) because every little thing he fixed, another issue would come up to take it's place, first it was the main matrix frame, then it was the coordinate calculator, and then the astrological compass (no, not that zodiac stuff, the one that tracks the positions of planets and their position through time, obviously! Why would zodiacs be involved? You silly goober..) and so forth.
This time, however, it was that it didn't have enough power! It had the audacity to demand even more lava, cause yes, the reason that his factory broke every morning was that, the "surplus" lava that he supposedly informed the regime about was all being used on his side project, why would he reveal that? If he could fix it in a blink of an eye then why would it be an issue to them, it'll only be a pain in the ass for him and him alone.
The fox chattered nearby, he at least had that company of the fox that loved to stay here by the boiling lava, it didn't have that much survival instinct (he couldn't talk much himself, after all in his auto-feeder there was only carrots, not golden ones, just straight up from the farm, he was sure there was some still with dirt on them..) what a silly little fox- but, uhhh.. what was he working on?.. Oh yeah, checking why in gods green earth this machine demanded more lava than before.
Hours went by.. soft clicking on the terminal of the machine, his eyes having accustomed in the first few minutes he had gotten down here (or where they always able to see that well in the dark without him even trying?)
He felt chatter a top on his factory's main floor, but he couldn't be bothered climbing back up to socialize, he finally figured out the issue by the way! It had accidentally turned on partially the space distortion module (what's that? why would audio equipment need lava? No no noooo, not that, it's the module that transfers stuff through time) and had been siphoning lava into the void, oops! Silly him, maybe he should take a break from this..
He huffed, being honest, he never remembered that there was lava in here, maybe he was that used to it's heat already from working on the Death Star.. (he still had to find that girl) He fixed up his clothing, he had switched from the Regime uniform to something less flammable, he would hate burning such an important piece of his wardrobe (as those were few)
He could write all of his journey 10 000 words per hour and it would still take years for him to fit it all in on a concise manner, maybe a series or a movie would be easier..
No, there would be lots of plot holes that would drive every fan (if he had those..) crazy trying to patch up on the continuum on the lore, who would want to watch that?? No one he knows that's for sure, so, what are the clichés of Time travel aye?..
First, there was a goal as to why time travel.. (or alternatively just mere curiousity was enough), check
Second, there was some non-conclusive rules that seemed to shift every time just to fuck over the main protagonist.. check
Third, memory bullshit.. check
Hold on a second.. yeah, maybe time travel was the thing fucking with his memory, cause he remembers that he needs to get back to his daughter, even if knows he loves her, he could barely remember her face.. and.. he didn't even remember in what time period or time flow he left her! He remembered that he had been reckless just before he found himself stuck on that cruise ship.. he must have been treading way to close on their alterated thread of time to that of where they escaped from, that all he could gather.. he didn't remember why or what he was doing that, he felt frustrated, as that was all his memory could recall from the time stream.
And even then, he barely just remembered those memories after watching some movies after working late on his factory.. he didn't remember the name of the movie exactly.. he had been half listening to it and something about it's rules and machinery bothered him and only after he started rambling on and on to the air (and disregarding his actual work) about the inner workings and why some of it's logic wouldn't work, it was then that it hit him like a brick fallen from the same machinery he was working on, his head sounding like metal that he didn't pay attention to, as he was flabbergasted by himself.
"Oh my gosh, I've left Sunny."
It was the first words (actual real words at least as each noise of disapproval he had made before didn't count) he had uttered in a bit and he noticed only because his throat was raspy that he was thirsty.
How did his body manage to forget that water was a necessity? Beats him, he almost never (at least not anymore) questioned his own body's ability to comform to any environment, he had long abandoned the idea to documenting every environment he was comfortable in, gods it was every time he had checked his results it always was different. He chalked it up to the Time Travel stuff.. And he had to for the time being, as fixing this machine was imperative for his current psyche.
He grumbled and got back to work...
