Sweet Moments to Remember

Summary:

Before Megumi leaned over to kiss Yuji on his cheek quickly, which in response caused Yuji to let out a soft giggle and grab Megumi’s face, giving the boy a peck on the lips. In response Megumi shoved Yuji off him, seeing laughter spark off Yuji’s lips. Who continued walking off to the car until he opened the door, as he got into the passenger seat yelling, “Love ya!”

“Love you too,” flowed smoothly off Megumi’s lips. As if he got accustomed to saying it.

Maybe he did.

basically just cute moments of Itafushi in highschool with no curses. But instead i have free will.

Chapter Text

There was a moment apparently in the past three weeks where Megumi finally accepted the fact of watching all the Human Earthworm’s.. several.. times just came apart of the package when it came to being Yuji’s boyfriend. Which unfortunately was a sacrifice he was willing to take. Regardless of whether he liked it or not, but because Yuji liked it, he loved it. As a result it explains his current predicament. Megumi was laying on his bed against his headboard, with Yuji resting on his chest both laying on top of the covers. The TV in front of them playing whatever number of Human Earthworm that his boyfriend picked (he wasn’t paying attention). They had probably rewatched these movies too many times to count and Megumi still did not understand the plot, nor did he really ever expect to.

“Do you even know what was just happening three seconds ago?” Yuji questioned, his head turned back to look Megumi in his eyes. Knowing without a doubt he had not been paying attention. In return from Yuji’s voice Kuro and Shiro—Megumi’s huskies—both peeped their heads up in interest. He’s had them for a few years apparently, ever since elementary school. Gojo and Geto had got them as a surprise for him and his sisters one day, supposed to be the family dog of the whole house. To Nanako, Mimiko, and including Tsumiki’s disappointment the dogs latched onto their brother like glue.

“Yeah,” Megumi answered cluelessly, his voice monotone, though if it had been anyone else who answered it probably would’ve given them away.

“What just happened then?”

“Some girl likes this human earthworm dude… I don't know, okay this shit is weird,” Megumi admitted with a loud sigh, slightly shifting his body under Yuji’s weight. He had been waiting for the end of the movie desperately, and the more he watched the closer he swore it got to ending.

Clearly he was wrong.

“Hey that's not fair, you told me we could watch it when I came over”

“How many times have we already watched this?”

Yuji opened his mouth like he was about to say something back, before closing it knowing he couldn’t even blame him. Even if it was a bit stupid how there was this small pit of sorrow in his chest at the thought of something he adored being brushed off by someone else he cared about. Even if it was something as small as a movie, he couldn’t help it really.

It didn’t take much longer for Yuji to realize how tired Megumi was—actually Yuji was aware Megumi wanted to go to sleep and was trying to stay up for him, but he didn’t realize the extent Megumi was truly tired. At the rate things were going he didn’t expect Megumi to be able to keep this going much longer. Especially due to the fact Yuji knew himself the fact he was nowhere close to going to sleep anytime soon. Not to mention the fact he has been talking Megumi’s ear off during the whole movie wasn’t too much help..

Scratch that, there was no way Megumi would have stayed up this long watching pure no commentary Human Earthworm. It was a miracle that he’s been able to sit still this long without changing to another resting position.

Or maybe he shouldn’t jinx that while he’s on a record breaking streak.

Actually it was far too gone, Yuji quickly sprung up over to his bag to pull out a back of chips to snack on. He was seriously craving something to eat, though to be fair he wasn’t sure if it was because he was bored or hungry. Which didn’t matter much anyways since the food tasted better when you didn’t think of unimportant things like that to begin with.

“Okay, I want you to know I tried but I can't take this anymore, I'm going to bed,” Megumi stated plainly, moving to go under the blanket and leave all the problems he had in the past. Though one thing was sure and it was the fact it didn’t matter trying to stay up any longer. Yuji was officially springing with energy at midnight and it has nothing to do with Megumi, who is completely content with that fact.

“Please thirty more minutes.”

“No”

“C’mon..”

“Absolutely not.”

“If you really love me Megumi you would do it..”

“And if you really loved me Yuji you would go to bed yourself too,” Megumi stated as if it was a fact, eyes already closed. Before hearing the biggest sigh—most dramatic too while we are at it—from Yuji, moving over to get under the covers himself, but in return Megumi moved to wrap his arms around Yuji.

“Can I say one more thing, last thing I swear,” Yuji loudly whispered, somehow possible for him.

“Spit it out.”

“I got a text from my dad about my grades earlier today and I think I'm screwed. I actually just remembered right now that I had forgotten to tell you about this. To make matters worse I literally got a horrible score on my test in history. Like best case scenario I got a high D.” Which actually was not too shocking for Megumi to hear, Yuji always got really bad grades. Never being the best student when it came to normal textbook classes. Oddly enough having his best grades in more hands-on classes. Always making Megumi wonder how the hell Yuji was able to play sports year round. Most coaches prioritized grades over school, saying they can just have another player come in as replacement. However when it came to Yuji no coach really cared, actually some coaches were already begging him to try out for next sports season.

Though Megumi wasn’t a sports person himself. Regardless deciding to go to all of Yuji’s games just to see him win. Personally he was in student council, specifically Vice President. Nobara and Yuji begged him to go for President but who votes for a 1st year? At least the school year was almost over. Becoming a second year student in about a month. Which meant he was going to be seventeen this year, truly sounds unbearable. His birthday was at the end of the year, like seven months away. Way too close to being an adult and that sounds truly miserable. I mean… look at Gojo. Or maybe it was the concept of having to be like Gojo as an adult. Well, maybe not.. Geto clearly proves that claim wrong.

“I don’t see the issue.. since this is not really anything new.”

“HEY.. how mean.”

“Okay.. but my point is this is nothing new, Yuji.”

And.. to be fair it truly was nothing new. He knew that, just as well as Megumi did. Even then Yuji and his family were complicated. He lived with his grandfather, but his dad worked overseas so they rarely got to see each other. Not that it bothers him to be honest, Yuji preferred it when it was just him and his grandfather anyways. He was not that close with his dad to begin with due to his job. Then his mom was heavily sick and hospitalized, which had been going on for a few years now. She always seemed to get better and suddenly her health would once again decline. He felt bad, but to be fair he was not too close with her either. Regardless, the empathy he held for really everyone overshadowed that fact and he couldn’t help but feel guilty for some reason.

Not to mention ever since Yuji started dating Megumi he started to feel bad for his mom. More in the sense of family disappointment, whenever he visits her she asks about finding a nice girl or one day Yuji would have a wife with kids and… whatever else most men did in Japan as they become adults. He couldn’t bear to burden her with this knowledge with her current state, and for his dad he just had not gotten to telling him. His grandfather, Wasuke, knew. He loved Yuji more than anything so it wasn’t a big deal at all—thankfully. Obviously, Choso knew, his older brother was like his best friend. Even though biologically they were half brothers through their mom, it didn’t change the fact of their inseparable bond. So much they felt as if they were full blooded siblings, just as much as anyone else.

“Just felt weird hearing him chew me out, it doesn’t even feel like he has the place to do that honestly,” Yuji murmured, before continuing, “anyways goodnight.” He finished off. Before Megumi squeezed him before shifting slightly in bed. Not much after did Shiro decide she deserved her spot on the bed herself as well, while her brother who came from the same litter still slept on the floor peacefully.

The blinds had traces of light seeking out from the outside. Coming inside the room in a light orange, the only reason Megumi knew it was early in the morning still. A small yawn escaped his mouth before peeling away from Yuji hoping he wasn’t going to wake him up. His socks hit the floor, before seeing Kuro already awake and moving to wake up Shiro.

“C’mon I gotta feed you two breakfast,” Megumi slurred softly, not needing to say it twice. His dogs were extremely well trained, and it surely wasn’t due to anyone else in the house. Over time they became his dogs and his only. Obviously everyone else spent time with the dogs, to be fair they were truly adorable. Just Megumi took the most time out of his day for them, and with no doubt it was totally worth it.

He feeds them on a schedule, not that he thinks they would over feed themselves—he trained them better than that—but it's more about the fact he likes them to have a set schedule. As a result they eat breakfast in the morning, lunch, and a snack at night. Which had been working out for the past five years, so clearly he knew he was doing something right if anything.

After he finished making their meals, he placed them on the floor. Letting both dogs eat while he went along to get a drink from the refrigerator. Before he could even open it he heard the voice of his little sister. Though to begin with the twins, Nanako and Mimiko were only a few months younger than Megumi. Even so as a sibling it was just the role he was meant to play in this society. Moreover that role demanded a long annoyed sigh.

“Look at you,” Nanako drew out longer than needed. A twisted smile—or at least according to Megumi—appeared on her face.

“Shut up.”

“Woah.. someone is surely cranky aren’t we?” She teased, “With your wonderful, beloved, adored, and whatever else of a boyfriend I would expect pure kindness and love from my only brother.”

“I said shut up the first time.”

Megumi rolled his eyes, during her unnecessary words from earlier he got himself a cup of juice and moved right past her back to his room. Ignoring her for his sake. He did love his sisters, it was just something about being a sibling. You loved the death out of them but at the same time wanted to piss them the fuck off at every chance possible.

Once Megumi reached his room after going upstairs he realized Yuji had already gotten up, getting his stuff together, “You leaving already?”

“Yeah I have practice, did I forget to tell you?” Yuji asked, before continuing on anyways, not giving Megumi a chance to speak even if he wanted to, “Coach said since we have a competition we have to come Saturday. Since he felt like everyone else isn’t where he wants them to be and only more practice can fix that.” Which wasn’t hard to believe in the first place. Yuji has always been gifted when it came to sports. Though clearly not academically..

“Yeah you didn’t mention you were leaving this early.”

“Oh I wasn’t planning on it actually. I had just forgotten my athletic clothing so Choso said he is going to drive me home and then to my practice.” Yuji quickly explained. Moving around grabbing his items and bag, getting briefly distracted. Before continuing on without much thought, “Sorry by the way for not telling you, I probably forget half the stuff I say anyways.”

“Yuji, have you taken your medication?” Megumi finally asked, having a feeling Yuji had not gotten to it yet. To clarify Yuji had hyperactive ADHD and took his daily medication in the morning as he was supposed to.

“Oh shit, thanks for reminding me!” Yuji stated with a smile, honestly the only person Megumi knew who could be this joyous this early in the morning. Not to mention you have to waste your perfectly fine Saturday for practice?

Furthermore, Yuji took the glass Megumi had his juice in, grabbing one of the capsules from his overnight bag. Taking his medication before handing the cup back to Megumi and giving him a quick hug. In no doubt Megumi hugged Yuji back, before realizing he was saying goodbye.

“Hey, I’ll walk you out to your brother's car,” Megumi declared, like it wasn’t another option. Moving already to put on his slides and head out the door with Yuji. If Megumi knew his boyfriend was leaving so early, he wouldn’t have left bed so early. Yeah, maybe it was a bit stupid considering they have been spending a ton of time together since they started dating a few months ago. Which, they had already been hanging out a ton beforehand. Speaking of, Megumi had been feeling a bit guilty about hanging out with only Yuji majority of the time. Especially ever since Yuji briefly mentioned how he, Megumi, and Nobara haven’t all spent time together outside of school hours. Usually one of them is missing, or it is just him and Yuji. Not to mention that Nobara had been spending more time with Maki recently so Megumi didn’t really think much of it. Still, he knew that they all needed to hangout soon as a whole. It was just ever since he and Yuji started dating. Everything has been different.

It didn’t take long for Megumi to follow Yuji downstairs. Both moving over to the front door simultaneously. In addition, on their way downstairs he realized Nanako finally found something to do with her life and was nowhere near the living room.

Thank the lords.

Once they both reached the front door Megumi rushed to grab the door first, holding it open for Yuji. Before walking out himself. Seeing Choso’s car parked nearby, likely Choso willing to make a sacrifice and pick up Yuji this early in the morning due to unconditional love for his sibling.
