Strange Sullys: Strange Facts

Summary:

Just some concept ideas I had while writting Strange Sullys.

Also, if you want to know a little sneak peak about the next part of the series, this is the moment!!

Notes:

Hi guysssss, I've just updated the last chapter let's goooooooo

-I’ll be specifying if some things are planned to be discussed in the prequel or sequel, so if you read something that you want to really read this can also help you guys to clear your minds about the decision. And who am I kidding, it’ll also help me decide which plots go where (also this is my reminder that if you have a preference, please do tell me because I live to serve

-Also, if it’s not specified if something would be prequel or sequel content it’s either because it’s gonna be expanded in both, or because it won’t be touched on in any of them, sorry. You’ll have to guess.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

-Kiri was definitely flipping Ao’nung and the bullies off when they cornered her in the hallway.

-Kiri makes all her clothes from a material that disappears whenever she does. (prequel)

-Tonowari knew from the start that Jake and his family had powers. He helped the Sullys to move. (will be discussed more in the sequel. It’ll be lightly touched in the prequel, but definitely more important in the sequel)

-The rumour about the Sullys eating “bugs” is technically true. They eat toasted grasshoppers/chapulines.

-The rumour about them being rich is kinda true?? Jake and Neytiri made a good penny being heroes, and that’s partly the reason why the government doesn’t throw them into the worst house in every city they’ve lived in. It’s one of the clauses of their agreement

-Kiri was calling for Neteyam’s help while she was being trailed by the bullies, but Neteyam wasn’t close enough to hear her. After that, Kiri told Lo’ak and Neteyam and they spent the day together watching bad horror movies in Kri’s room.

-When I was first imagining the plot, they were supposed to be more into the timeline. Like, the Sullys  would’ve been living in Ve’rui for a year or something and Neteyam and Ao’nung were supposed to be in a situationship, and there was going to be a b-plot of Neteyam meeting a boy from Ve’rui’s other highschool and Ao’nung would’ve been jealous.

-The boy was supposed to be Tarsem.

- Ao’nung has been crushing on Neteyam since chapter 2, in my eyes. He just didn’t want to admit it. So, if you re-read, keep that in mind

-Neteyam was the last of all his siblings to get his powers.

-Since he got his powers, there has been not a single test were he doesn’t cheat. He hears everyone’s thought process and decides what’s the best answer. When someone ask the teacher, he is listening. He even asks the teacher something silly about the question and inevitably the teacher always takes a look and thinks about the correct answer. So he aces every class.

-Neteyam always has his earphones on, every time he goes out of their house.

-Neteyam has heard ALL of Ao’nung’s monologues/inner thoughts since the beginning.

-Neteyam’s contact names for Lo’ak and Kiri are actually names they have taken as previous identities.

-The Sullys mark their stuff with numbers, since Neteyam and Lo’ak often switch clothes and backpacks and whatnot. And since they’ve grown, sometimes they also start to switch their things with Jake’s.

-In the previous identity, Jake had to pretend to not be able to walk. (prequel)

-Neytiri gave Neteyam Eytukan’s pen. It has an inscripture. (prequel)

-When I first wrote about the pen, I said it was supposed to be from Neteyam’s uncle (Tsu’tey, not Tommy), but I thought about it better and preferred to make it Eytukan’s. It was a last minute change. Like, I read the chapter, changed that detail and uploaded it, because I was thinking about the universe and I just wanted to see or mention Tsu’tey in some way, shape or form in the future.

-This brings me to: Tsu’tey is alive (sequel)

-The scene in the Incredibles when Helen goes to the meeting with the principal and the teacher inspired this whole thing. Lo’ak was always supposed to be the “Dash” of this fic.

-Also, another scene that inspired this was the cave-scene of Helen saying to her kids that the bad guys will hurt them if they get the chance (prequel)

-Neteyam constantly hits everyone with his braids.

-I kinda want to make Tsireya a lawyer when she grows up

-The Sullys and Tonowari didn’t want to send Neteyam to the hospital because 1) if they do blood tests, they could find out that he has powers; and 2) because the mental state of anyone in a hospital would certainly make Neteyam feel worst

-The pool incident is not Neteyam’s only encounter with death. (prequel) (and sequel probably, I just haven’t defined everything yet)

-After hitting his head, Neteyam felt like he couldn’t really hear other people’s thoughts well, at least not unless he was actively attempting to hear, so he told Kiri and Lo’ak and they ran to the party. Neteyam wanted to enjoy a party without everyone’s thoughts swirling in his head. He liked feeling like a normal person for a little while.

-Neteyam will continue to joke about how Ao’nung drowned him (Sequel)

-I imagine Jake was like very Tony Stark (Iron man 1) coded when he was in his prime superhero era. Neytiri reformed him. Well, more like Jake put the leash on himself and just gave Neytiri the handle (prequel)

-Jake and Tonowari met in their youth. Jake saved Tonowari’s life, and that’s why Tonowari is helping the Sullys (sequel)

-The Sullys live so far away from the main town to help Neteyam not to get overwhelmed by other people and their constant thoughts.

-Sometimes Neteyam gets the worst headaches/migraines when people around him are panicking and thinking a lot. Exam week is the worst. Or game week. Or any crowded event really. Sometimes it’s random tho, like Neteyam just listens to a lot more people and his brain can’t anymore so Jake and Neytiri let him stay home until it passes.

-By now they know that when that happens all of the Sullys have to be quiet and to try and stay relaxed because if too much brain activity is happening with them Neteyam will know, it will hurt his own brain and will snap at everyone to shut up. Just like what happened in that chapter

-When Ao’ delivered the homework, Lo’ak and Jake were panicking because Neteyam was dealing with the headache, but it was mostly Lo’ak’s and Jake’s thoughts the ones that set Neteyam on.

-The headaches make Neteyam more sensible to sense people’s thoughts, which is annoying and counterproductive.

-Neteyam mentions that he can’t work on the project because Jake will leave town and also Neteyam himself will be out of time during the weekend. They went to a government facility to test their powers. They have to go once every two months or so. Scientists are developing ways to decrease/erase/control their powers. They have to comply, it’s part of the deal the parents made

-Ao’nung got Neteyam’s number by asking Rotxo for it

-When Ao’ spies on Neytiri, Tuk and Neteyam, and the window smashes him, in reality it was Kiri who used her invisibility, walked slowly and  closed the window on Ao’nung. She didn’t know he was about to see Neytiri (maybe) using her powers. It was a total coincidence and revenge for the hallway

-Almost at the same time Kiri did that, Lo’ak used his speed to walk past Ao’nung without him noticing. He didn’t do anything to Ao’nung because he figured Kiri was onto something and he was right.

-Neteyam saying to Tuk to stop playing was definitely a code for them. Jake and Neytiri used to say that a lot to Kiri and Lo’ak while they were little and didn’t quite understand that their abilities could get them detained and it stuck.

-OMG I’M REREADING THE CHAPTER TO REMEMBER LIKE THE DETAILS AND STUFF AND WHY DID NOBODY TELL ME THAT I WROTE THAT JAKE (AKA TORUK) HAS “MONSTROUS STRAIGHT”. STRAIGHT. WHY. DID NO ONE NOTICED OR DID YOU ALL JUST ROLLED WITH IT????

-Now, should I correct it? Or do I just leave it like that? omfg HAHAHAHHAA

-Tonowari was bluffing on the “Neteyam already told us everything”

-Neteyam actually didn’t mean anything by the “just do what you’re told”, Ao’nung just overthinks and blew it out of proportion, but it kinda worked in his favor

-Everyone just assumed Ao’nung insta-felled in love with Neteyam when they meet for the second-first time. So because of that the Sullys, this time, won’t be bullied

-The Sulis are great actors

-The Sullys all have to change their numbers each time they have a new identity.

-Ao’nung tried texting and calling Neteyam during the 2 months he was away.

-Ao’ and Nete are in a situationship by the end, in case it wasn’t clear enough (sequel)

-Ao’ doesn’t quite know what every power entails. He tries to guess but Neteyam won’t confirm anything because he likes Ao’nung and he loves his family and telling things to Ao’ will do more harm than good in case he is ever interrogated again (sequel)

-Jake’s hero name: Toruk

-Neytiri’s hero name: Ioran. It means elegance, grace,  in na’vi

-I have Kiri’s possible hero name already picked

-Sylwanin’s death. Her hero name used to be Miklor. It means pleasant sounding, beautiful sounding. (Sequel)

- Ao’nunete as boyfriends (sequel)

-Along with that, you know how there are some places where people have to ask someone to be their bf/gf and there are other where the couple just kind of assume they are dating? That but Aonunete. I’m still deciding who would be the oblivious one, trying to maximize the shits and giggles fr (what do you think?) (sequel)

-Spider was friends with the Sullys before going to Ve’rui (prequel)

-Hearing about Spider (sequel)

-Quaritch (prequel)

-Neteyam is the last of his sibling to unlock his powers. He got them when he turned 14 (prequel)

-I’m not sure yet if I want Kiri to know she is Grace’s daughter. I’ll elaborate in the next work of the series. (but it would have more focus in the sequel)

-Grace is either in a coma, like in canon, or she is death… I’m not sure yet (sequel)

-Trudy (prequel)

-Tsu’tey (sequel)

-Sully family fluff/angst/dynamics (prequel)

-Neteyam discovering his powers (prequel)

-Neteyam discovering the full capacity of his powers (sequel)

-Jellyfishblueso said: “I can just see Tuk cloning herself to keep the family busy so she can have Neteyam all to herself” and I’m making it canon.

-the Sullys adopting a pet (sequel)

-Ao’nung doesn’t trust Tonowari at all now (sequel)

-Ao still has the box under his bed, he is too nervous to throw it out.

-Eytukan mention (prequel)

-Norm being like the Edna Mode  (kinda. Less iconic tho… I’ll probably bring Mutxuk to the mix to balance him out) (prequel)

-In the early concept, Netyam was going to be the only of his family to not have powers. And Ao’nung was supposed to suspect Neteyam the most.

-This story made me want to write my own super-hero book. It’s in drafts and not finished yet, but the concept and a big part of the plots are already thought through. And mark my words, you’ll see it published one day.

-In the bad ending, Ao’nung would have forgotten about the Sullys, and the Sullys would leave forever. But then I would have put a scene a-lá Kimi no Nawa and Neteyam and Ao’nung would have found each other again.

-And there’s the “fuse” concept where Neteyam has no powers, dates Ao’nung, Ao’ starts suspecting the Sullys, etc. And when Ao’ finds out about the powers and the Sullys leave, Neteyam’s memories also get erased. Because only super-people are immune to brain-wipe.

Right now, that’s all that comes to my mind.

So, I’m gonna give you a little synopsis of both the prequel and sequel, and basically choose your favorite and let me know.

And also I’ll say that it would be best, if you’re interested in the next part, to bookmark the series. I’m planning to start uploading the next part by 2027, so that I can figure out all the plot-points and write at least a handful of chapters to be able to have a consistent updating schedule.

Without anything else to say!!!:

PREQUEL:

Being fourteen is hard.

Being fourteen and moving constantly from city to city is harder.

Being fourteen, moving constantly, and being an example for your siblings and taking care of them makes it so much worse than it needs to be. Especially when your siblings don’t want to listen to you.

And you can do anything when your sister disappears for hours, or when your brother runs away to not walk with you back to the new house, or when your littlest sister terrorizes everyone just to spend some time with you.

Literally you can’t do anything, because everyone in your family has superpowers but you.

Welcome to the life of Neteyam Sully.

Well… Legally Netari Txikhed.

That’s Jake’s fault. He called Quaritch that once and now the man took revenge.

How lucky is the Txikhed family.

SEQUEL:

It’s been six months since Neteyam and his family arrived in Ve'rui. According to the official records, it's been three months though.

The Sulis have settled down for the most part. Tuk is dealing with her government-issued bracelet that prevents her from cloning. Lo’ak is trying to make his mind-scenarious about the girl he likes become reality. Kiri is trying to make contact with her old friend, who occupies the first place in the family non-contact directive. Neteyam is having a good time flirting with Ao’nung, acing his classes; and a not-so-good time when his powers began to manifest in broader ways than just your simple, usual mind reading.

And then Jake and Neytiri are issued a mission and they are to be sent away for an unspecified amount of time.

At least they get to see Uncle Tsu’tey.
