Chapter Text
Red. Red and a metallic smell was all Sebek was aware of. His body hurt, it hurt so much. He couldn't tell anything apart except for red, red and the metallic smell of blood.
How did this even happen? His leige… How could have Malleus killed them all? Silver was gone, Lilia was gone, Yuu was gone and so was grim. Everyone he had known from night raven collage were gone just like that. All of them except for himself.
"Ah my most loyal guard." Malleus whispered out. His claws digging into Sebek's back. Sebek looked up. His leige had overblotted, the smell of ink was almost as bad as the rotten smell of blood.
"Silver was Lilia's but you, you Sebek will be mine. My childe, and mine alone." Something strange bit into Sebek's gut. It was something akin to fear. It was something primal and swallowed him whole.
"…" He wanted to go home. He wanted to not be here whatsoever. This was hell, worst of all it was of his leige' own making. He hated this, he hated it so much.
"Sebek? Are you alright?" Silver's voice cut through the fog of just waking up. It was that dream again, it always was. That nightmare had been repeating every night for over a year. He hadn't told anyone about it.
"I'm alright Silver!" Sebek responded. It was only the second day of school. He was at Night Raven College! The very one he would attend with his leige. he didn't know how to feel about that one fact anymore He would not fail at all. He would be responsible and make his leige proud!
he was so, so tired. He wanted to rest and never see malleus again. He hated himself, for being so weak
"You should start heading to class, you don't want to be late on only your second day." Silver commented. Lately it seemed as if their roles had swapped. Sebek used to always wake silver up, back when they were both children.
"Thank you Silver!" Sebek thanked. He got up and rushed to get ready. First his uniform, then shoes, then pen. Lastly was the part he was dreading the most. His hair, he used to put it up all the time, now though. With the nightmares he just… stopped completely.
He had no energy or will to do his hair. He'll just brush it and let it do whatever it wanted then. Maybe this way, that dreadful nightmare won't come true. Was it even a nightmare or just the past he had to change?
Sebek took a breath and walked right out of his dorm room. He was glad to have a room all to himself. He was so alone Plus it was right next to his liege's own dorm room! This way he could protect the other with honor! He thought of switching dorms more than a few times, if only to get away
"Good morning Sebek." Malleus greeted. Sebek wanted to sob at the unwelcome presence.
"Good morning Waka-sama!" Sebek greeted in kind. He wanted to go home and off this island already
"I hope you have a good second day of school Sebek." With that Malleus thankfully sadly left Sebek alone in the hall. With that short interaction out of the way he decided to head to class.
As soon as Sebek entered Proffecor Trein's classroom he let out a breath he hadn't known he had been holding. He made it here without any more interactions with people. Not to mention he was now in one of his favorite classes, history!
It was always so interesting to him to learn about this past he hadn't lived. It was something that let him forget the worries swarming his mind. It made him smile, even on the darkest of dark days. it was all red and metallic and black and ink
"Ah good morning Mr.Zigvolt." Professor Trein said.
"Good morning to you as well professor!" Sebek responded. It was rude to ignore people, it always was! even if you hinted at wanting to be left alone and they kept talking without pause
Ludicus walked up and over to Sebek. The cat wanted to be pet and the professor was not fulfilling that wish. Sebek reached out a hand and let the cat sniff him, then he started to pet it. Said cat purred, melting into the pets Sebek was providing.
Soon other students filled into the classroom. They generally ignored Sebek and did their very best not to sit by him. He wasn't as loud as he used to be and didn't mind all that much. he did
If they did not wish to sit by them then it was their loss! he would always be to fae for humans and to human for faes wouldn't he? Sebek decided to read a bit of the textbook before the bell rang shortly. He had already read the syllabus Professor Trein provided yesterday.
"Hey, Can I sit here?" A voice asked. Sebek turned to see the source of the voice was a wolf beastman. The other was dark skinned, it looked quite ashy. He also had white hair, or was it fur? Whatever it didn't matter, based on the other's uniform he looked to be in Savanaclaw.
"Sure, I do not mind." Sebek said, mindful of his volume. The beastman probably had sensitive ears.
"Thanks, I'm Jack by the way." The Savanaclaw student introduced.
"I am Sebek, it is a pleasure to meet you." Sebek said. There were still loads of empty seats scattered around the space, so it being the only option left was simply untrue. It made Sebek feel quite glad at that fact.
"Hey ya'll mind if I squeeze on in here?" Another voice called out. This one came from a short pomfiore student with purple hair and blue eyes. They looked quite feminine, yet had a thick country accent.
"No, go ahead." Jack said, Sebek just nodded in agreement.
"Thanks! I'm Epel it's nice to meet you two." The feminine boy said.
"Jack howl." Jack introduced himself.
"I'm Sebek, nice to meet you too." Sebek said. By then all of the seats have been mostly filled up, with only a few students absent. The rest of the class went by too fastly in his own opinion.
Epel and Jack both had pe next, Sebek however did not. Instead Sebek had one professor Crewel, the professor was rumored to be strict and harsh. Honestly Sebek thought that if he just followed the rules he would be fine. People were just so strange at times.
