Work Text:

Weezer was going camping. Brian wasn’t exactly the outdoorsy type but he just came along not wanting to miss out. The camp site was high up and they had to hike for a while… Brian was feeling weird like his stomach was churning and his brain was getting tapped at, he felt so lightheaded and the woodsy smells weren’t helping the dizziness at all. He didn’t want to ruin the others’ fun so he just kept it to himself.

Brian sat on a log next to the lake as the other three were out probably playing Hacky-sack or something, he’d join but he just wasn’t feeling it right now. He stared into the water in front of him and noticed someone was walking up to him in the reflection, it was Mikey. He’s always seemed really nice… he seemed like a genuinely good guy and he was really handsome… not that he was noticing.

“Hey, man.. You doin’ alright? You’ve been so far, come play with us! Hacky-sack..” Mikey said and smiled at him, he took a seat on the log and was next to him pretty closely. Brian was a little shy at the proximity but definitely not in a bad way, he felt a bit like a teenage girl with a crush. To be fair Mikey *was* very crush worthy… his body so strong looking, his hair so shaggy, the way he dressed, those hot tattoos… he was so dreamy… Brian coughed a bit and shook his head to snap himself out of it, he was thinking some strange thoughts about how good of a boyfriend Mikey would make and he was weirding himself out! He decided to believe he was going crazy just because of the headache and he forced himself to answer the damn question.

“Uh, y-yeah no thanks, I’m not feeling too good… kinda nauseous..” Brian replied. All the different smells and all the hiking got him really light headed.

“Oh.. you should’ve told me, just rest, Bri. I’ll keep you company, come on.” Mikey’s voice got slightly gentler, even more than it already was. Brian was expecting him to just give a pat on the shoulder, tell him to get well soon, and get back to the other guys but surprisingly but surprisingly he stayed.

Mikey led Brian over to his tent which was spacious enough for two,

“C’mon… you need this, dude..” Mikey said as he helped Brian down onto the sleeping bag and laid his head on the pillow. Brian was a more than a little flustered by the way Mikey gently tucked the blankets around him and smoothed them out over his shoulders. Mikey’s hands were there for a bit longer than needed before he pulled away quickly after noticing what he was doing.

“You don’t need to stay, I-I’ll be alright, y’know..” Brian didn’t want to burden him or keep him from having fun with the others.

“Nonsense, buddy. I’m fine right here. *You* just rest..” Mikey replied with complete sincerity, the warm look in his eyes made Brian relax more but at the same time not. He was just so kind and pretty and sweet it was hard to be completely comfortable…

“If you need anything… or just someone to hang around you… I’m around, Bri. You know that, right?” Mikey decided to give a little hint and say something sweet. It wasn’t just a line he was using but he meant it completely. If Brian ever needed someone for anything at all Mikey wanted to be the one for it.

Brian looked up at the man sitting on the sleeping bag next to him and smiled. He was getting a bit sleepy and more relaxed, both by Mikey’s presence and how his energy was lessening.

“You’re.. so nice, y’know? Like… *surprisingly* sweet.” Brian said with a giggle. Mikey didn’t look like the gentleman type, he had tattoos, he dressed not so properly, his hair was messy and he got high quite often… what others didn’t see was how understanding he was, how he was so genuinely concerned for people, how he had this gentleness and warmth inside him that you needed to be close by to fully notice… Brian noticed.

“You too, Bri..” Mikey smiled at him and gently brushed some hair out of Brian’s eyes. He found him beautiful… his slender body, that sharp jawline, his big green eyes… to Mikey, Brian had always been special. He was just so charming and charismatic and he definitely looked the part too. He liked Brian a lot, not just in a bandmate way but he didn’t have a problem with it. Brian was perfect! Who could resist that?

Mikey peeked his head outside the tent and noticed it was dark out already and was actually pretty late… he tilted his head upwards slightly and noticed something breathtaking, the stars. They were gorgeous, it was like a painting… all those shining lights…

Karl, Pat, and Rivers were already asleep in their tents so it seemed if they went out it would be just them.

Mikey got back in the tent and looked into Brian’s eyes.

“Hey, Bri? Come out with me… bring the sleeping bag.. it’s worth it, I swear.”

Brian grumbled a little and stumbled out with the sleeping bag and Mikey… what he saw made all his complaints fade.

“Woah… those don’t look like the stars in LA..”

Brian said as Mikey and him laid in their sleeping bags.

“Yeah… it’s more like home.” Mikey replied as he gazed up with him. His eyes started drifting to something lower than the stars but to Mikey just as beautiful, Brian. He looked perfect as always but even more so when he was at peace like this. Brian’s gaze moved from the stars too and to Mikey… he leaned in and moved a little closer… Mikey was moving closer too… then Brian stopped.

“W-wait, I don’t wanna get you sick!” Brian said as he pulled away. He didn’t have anything contagious but he just really didn’t wanna risk getting Mikey sick.

“Aw.. I guess you’re right.. bummer..” Mikey said before humming softly in thought…

“Can I just hold you?” He suggested as a substitute. Brian immediately agreed and Mikey pulled him close, Brian rested his head against Mikey’s warm chest and sighed in comfort.

“Y’know, Mikey… you’re like exactly my type..” Brian admitted with a soft sigh as he nuzzled his neck.

“Oh yeah? Well… you’re mine too, Bri. As in… exactly. 100% perfect to me.” Mikey answered as his calloused hand found Brian’s hair and started gently stroking.

“C’mon.. you’re being ridiculous..” Brian said with a small chuckle as he tried to ignore the way his cheeks tinted red at Mikey’s words.

“Nope. Everything’s real, Bri.” Mikey kissed Brian’s head softly.

Brian closed his eyes. He felt so safe and cared for, he wondered if he saved the world in a past life for the universe to reward him like this.

“You… you feel like home.” Is what Brian vaguely whispered before drifting off to sleep. Home was safe, familiar, and took care of you…
