Work Text:
Suzie wasn’t acting like Suzie. Toshiko swore it. Whatever that was, it wasn’t Suzie. Owen and Ianto didn’t seem to have noticed, but ever since Owen and Suzie stopped shagging, they’d been noticeably cool with each other. Ianto said that he was new.
Toshiko was pretty sure that Jack had noticed, but when she asked he’d just shushed her. He probably had some convoluted plan that featured alien technology nobody even knew they owned.
The first time Toshiko realised Suzie wasn’t quite Suzie was when Suzie kissed her. Toshiko had quite enjoyed the kiss, until Suzie just wandered away afterwards, leaving her staring.
After that, she kept an eye on Suzie. Whatever thing was in Suzie seemed to believe Toshiko and her were dating, or it had just picked up on the fact that Toshiko wanted them to be.
Either way, it wasn’t right.
Eventually, Jack did his stupid plan. Turned out an alien had come out of a glove Suzie had been working on, and possessed her physical form, leaving her trapped in her own mind. His plan involved what Toshiko would say looked like a fairly standard mythological practice for expelling demons, but all Jack said was that “Myths come from somewhere, Toshiko.”
Suzie had some time off afterwards. Medically enforced. It was clear she’d rather be at work. Toshiko was just glad she was okay.
Even if Suzie kept on making eyes at the new girl. That was okay. It wasn’t like she’d ever actually kissed Toshiko.
