Mob looked through his chest, trying to find a new axe as his old one broke. He grumbled as he searched. “I know I put it here.” Mob stiffened as he heard Verity speak to him. Mob stared at the monitor, not moving anymore but just trying not to anger it.
“It’s so nice to finally be a duo again, isn’t it?” Verity said in a light tone, chuckling. “Oh, and uh, sorry about twiddle.” Verity said, Mob could practically hear him try to discreetly roll his eyes, he could hear his wave his hand, even though he had no hands.
Verity’s tone was still light, but more dismissive. Mob shut his eyes tightly, trying not to snap or say anything sarcastic or offensive. ‘He didn’t even get his name right.’ Mob ruffled his hair. “Why say sorry?” Mob forced his sentence out his mouth.
Verity shifted. He got off of the crafting table, bounced to the chest Mob was looking in, and hopped onto it, Mob tucked in his hands right as the chest was about to close on them. ‘Fuckass attention-seeker bro.’ Mob thought. “Well, it was kinda rude for him to leave like that, but he probably had something to do.”
‘Is this thing trying to manipulate me? This is why you don’t trust no ball in a game of squares.’ Mob sighed. “By the way,” Verity started. “What are you looking for?” It asked. “Just a axe, I wanted to add something to the house.” Mob mumbled. “Don’t worry, I have one!” Mob blinked.
“You do?” He tilted his head. “Yes.” Verity dropped the axe, and Mob picked it up. “I, didn’t know you could hold items. Why didn’t you tell me?” “It was never brought up!” Mob rolled hits eyes. “Yeah, ok dude.” Mob turned to leave when Verity stopped him. “Wait!” Mob stopped. “What?” Mob tried not to let his annoyance leak to his voice.
“Stay close.” Verity asked, his voice not matching his face as his tone was very serious. “What?” Mob turned. “Stay safe, Mob! You don’t know what’s out there!” Verity’s cheerful persona switched back on. “Uh, okay?” Mob left the house, the whole way he felt as if he was being watched.
Mob turned off his pc. He stretched and flopped onto his bed. ‘I’m not doing this.’ Mob shuffled and wrapped himself into the blankets. He turned and faced the wall. Mob sighed and closed his eyes. When Mob was falling asleep he could just barely feel long fingers touch his shoulders and hot breath against his neck.
Mob instantly woke up and turned around, only to see nothing. He grabbed his phone, sat up and called Twixxel. His phone rang in the middle of the night until Twixxel picked up. “TWIXXEL. I was about to fall asleep but then I felt like fucking Verity was breathing down my neck and touching my shoulders, bro. I’m so fucking done with this shit.”
Twixxel didn’t respond. “Twixxel?” Mob called out, all he got was silence. “Oh shit.” Mob covered his mouth and ended the call. Mob fell back into his bed, letting his arm and hand go limp and his phone hit his pillow. ‘Oh my fucking god he’s dead.’ Mob thought.
‘I didn’t know it could affect the REAL WORLD.” Mob curled into himself. ‘I’m so fucked.’ Mob pulled at his hair. He didn’t know. He’s sorry. But what does that do? Mob tried to rationalize it. ‘He might have just accepted the call on accident and was sleeping.’ Mob tried to find some sense.
‘I overreacted.’ Mob calmed down. ‘I’ll just call in the morning.’ Mob scratched his shoulders. ‘I was just being a pussy, nothings happened.’ Mob stared at his monitor. He couldn’t let go of the feeling that something was going to happen.
‘I don’t want to play tomorrow.’
‘What choice do I have? Verity might have control of the real world, or he at least knows a lot about it.’
‘I’m so fucked.’
‘I don’t wanna do this.’
‘I don’t even know how I could smell the gore from the monitor.’
‘I don’t want this.’
‘I don’t.’
I don’t.
Please.
Don’t.
I don’t want to go back.
That thing is horrifying.
I don’t want tomorrow to come.
I don’t want to see tomorrow.
