Mika was walking towards the knight of favonius headquarters. He kept his head down like usual trying to blend in with the scenery, he was supposed to go to Stormterrors lair today and he was not looking forward to it especially since he had lost his journal.
That journal had everything he needed in it to map out the rest of the area, wind currents for getting around, the Hillichurl's favourite camping areas to avoid and the easiest path to use for getting there.
With all of that information gone he was stumped, of course he did still have a spare map so he could draw the rest of the area in, just in case he lost his main one but it was far less detailed.
The blonde was so lost in thought about where he could have misplaced it and forgotten he failed to notice a certain blue haired menace who had started walking by him till it was too late.
Lohen already had his arm around the others shoulders,
“What are you thinking about birdie?”
Mika froze before looking up at him, he was petrified of Lohen, even though the vice captain was around him most of the time trying to converse with him, he had heard from his brother the horror stories of Lohens ‘training’.
“Hello Vice-Captain, I was just thinking about the solo expedition I have to do later today.”
Mika tried to keep his voice cool and collected but it failed him, trembling when he mentioned the solo expedition,he looked down at his shoes hoping the floor would swallow him. Lohen smirked.
“A solo expedition you say, I remember Varka mentioning it to me, but dearest birdie you seem quite anxious.”
The two stood there, the air around the growing quite awkward before Lohen walked off.
Mika didn't watch him go and opted for leaning against a nearby wall for a bit. What was that, he was already having a bad day but now Lohen THE vice captain Lohen had seen him scared to death. Every story Huffman had told him flooded back into his brain, everyone he knew had mentioned to him not to show fear in front of Lohen who was a firm believer in training fear out of people. The other knight had gone through days of gruelling training pushing them to near death.
The young knight was already imagining the horrors he might also have to go through and with that thought in mind he started walking towards the headquarters, soon he was in the cartography room. It was the same as always except for the fact that his mapping journal was gone he started rummaging through his desk and the surrounding papers.
Maybe if he tried hard enough he could will the book into appearing in front of him. Everything else was packed, all he needed was that journal the faster he found it the faster he could leave. There was no way he'd lost it after all he wasn't the only one who used it Varka often looked at it.
That was it!
He slung his bag over his shoulder and hurried his way downstairs to the main office.
Just as he was about to knock Jean stepped out.
“Hello Mika, everything is all right.”
“Perfectly fine Jean thank you, I just wanted to ask the Grandmaster a quick question.”
“In that case just go in, he's free right now.”
Mika nodded his head in thanks and stepped inside there sat Varka but there was no journal.
“Good morning Mika, I was just looking for you.” Mika froze for the second time that day. Looking, Varka was looking for him.
“Ill be sending Lohen with you to Stormterror's lair. He'll be there to fight off the abyssal creatures, he was supposed to go tomorrow but I figured two was better than one, I hope the last minute change doesn't affect you.”
The Grandmaster laughed pleasantly and there by his desk stood Lohen smirking at him for the second time that day, oh what could he have done to have displeased the Archons .
“Why hello there birdie i see your bag is all ready so why don't we get going!”
Mika had so many other places he was going to search but he didn't manage to get a single word in before he was being dragged out the door.

The two were now walking the blonde slightly behind the other, after an uncomfortably long amount of silence broken occasionally by the horrendous scraping sound of Lohen's dagger through his poison jar, Mika spoke up.
We should go off the path and around the cliff there's a large Hillichurl camp 200 meters down this way. He thanked his brain for memorising the location of the larger camps.
Lohen looked at him smirking,
“Why would i do that when the whole point of me being here is to defeat abyssal creatures you don't even have to do anything just watch, after all I wouldn't want my little birdie to get injured.”
Lohen continued walking down the path, Mika decided following him was the best option since there was no way he was going to argue against it.
As they neared the camp one of the Hillichurls noticed them alerting the others nearby Lohen pulled his spear out and leapt towards them.
Mika watched on in awe the way Lohen fought it was impressive, that of course was expected from a vice captain but he also noticed the smaller details, they way Lohen kicked dirt up the obstructing their vision and how he threw his daggers at them.that must have been why he had them.
So lost in admiration of the others fighting skills Mika failed to notice a mage appearing near him. The outline of an electro orb was the last thing he saw before he blacked out. Lohen upon hearing a yelp followed by a thump whipped around. There lay Mika and now above him floated an electro mage.
The ecstasy he usually felt from fighting was immediately replaced by rage how dare a weak and pitiful mage overstep in such a way, he rushed at it killing it quickly before bending down to hoist Mika into his arms princess style.
Everything was dead and luckily his birdie wasn't all too injured.

When mika woke up the sun had already moved quite a way through the sky he estimated that it had been around five hours. He was in Stormterror's lair but he didn't see the usual monster camps around, everything had been cleared. The strangest thing was that he seemed to be laying on something warm. Mika tried to move his head but a gloved hand grabbed his face from behind him. He jolted and glanced down with his eyes next to him lay two very familiar legs.
He was laying on Lohen who was grabbing his face with one hand and clutching him with the other. Nothing could have prepared him for how he should react in this scenario.
“Good afternoon birdie.”
Mika tried to pull away but failed miserably.
“Calm down now i dont know if you hit your head when you fell, wouldn't want you fainting.”
“I'm so sorry vice captain sir, i didnt mean to zone out during a fight, we've wasted so much time i should start to map the area out.” Mika rushed through his sentence and swore he could feel his bones freezing in fear.
Lohen smirked, somewhat pleased with himself.
“I mapped the area out for you but it was just the main parts. We'll go around so you can add your fancy squiggly lines and details.
Lohen let go of Mika who stood up mortified and located his bag, inside was his extra map with the previously unmapped area added by Lohen and started looking at his surroundings adding to it.
Lohen smiled ,it was a good idea, convincing Varka to let him join Mika. He'd spent the last while fighting monsters whilst carrying him princess style. He never knew his kicks could be so powerful and the rise and fall of Mika's chest added to his pleasure. Knowing he was the only one there for his birdie felt quite nice. Perhaps one day he could knock Mika out and do it again.

Two days later Mika walked into the cartography room. He'd been resting at home for a while as Barbra had instructed him to. On the desk lay his journal.
How nice of someone to have found it and left it there.
