Yoongi is Hoseok's guardian angel and Hoseok needs help.

Notes:

This is a very short drabble kind of thing that I got inspired to write because of this.

Work Text:

“You’re my what?” Hoseok splutters, staring at the slightly shorter male before him with the white, almost glowing, wings. Of all things he thought would happen if he took a few weeks off from dance to let his broken leg heal, this was not one of them.

“I’m your guardian angel,” the man deadpans, growing more impatient by the second because that was the fourth time he’d repeated those exact words. That’s not Hoseok’s fault, is it? Had this man just expected to walk into Hoseok’s apartment and announce that and things would be okay? Well actually, he hadn’t walked inside Hoseok’s apartment. He still doesn’t know how the blonde male got inside his apartment actually.

“Angel. You’re an angel? My angel? My guardian angel?” Hoseok asks, fidgeting because the situation calls for some fidgeting also his broken foot is kind of itching and hurting in the awful cast. “This is real?”

“Hoseok, if I have to say it for the fifth time I swear I’m quitting my job and you’re going to be guardian angel-less,” Yoongi huffs, blowing a piece of blonde hair out of his eyes.

“Right. It’s just that the situation is a little bit bizarre. Are you sure I didn’t break my head instead of my foot? You have fucking wings.”

“Hoseok.” That’s all he has to say before Hoseok slouches his shoulders and moves back to sit on the couch because his foot really is hurting a lot now.

An hour or two later, Hoseok is reclining his foot as the angel, Yoongi, he had said his name was, explains some things. He’s been Hoseok’s guardian angel for only a few years because there are apparently certain angels trained in guarding different stages of life. There’s angels trained to guard childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and people over 60. Usually, Yoongi is always around but hidden because, and here Yoongi had pointed at Hoseok, probably alluding to his earlier reaction. The only reason Yoongi is here is because Hoseok had hurt himself badly and with no one in Seoul he was close enough to to help him out and take care of him, the responsibility fell on Yoongi.

“So how old are you?” Hoseok asks over the bowl of ramen Yoongi had insisted on making. Apparently the taking care of a hurt Hoseok job started immediately and it started with really well-made ramen.

“23,” Yoongi says simply, eyeing the TV. Hoseok always thought other beings would have a hard time with technology but Yoongi seemed to be used to everything. Maybe they had TV’s up in heaven.

“How long have you been 23?”

“Really? This isn’t some cliched vampire tale, Hoseok.”

Hoseok giggles.

“Sorry. Are you like a baby angel, then?” Hoseok giggles again, thinking of Yoongi as a cherub, in a diaper with a bow and arrow in hand. “Like a cherub?”

Yoongi just rolls his eyes at him and Hoseok laughs again. Yoongi is funny, Hoseok thinks. He seems to be a genuinely caring person and Hoseok feels comfortable around him. Yoongi is nice. They sit and talk until the hours of the morning. By the time they’re ready to sleep everything feels like it’s happening underwater. Well, Hoseok feels like he’s underwater. He’s not sure if fatigue is something that Yoongi experiences at all, what with him being an angel and all.

When Hoseok is ready to finally get to bed Yoongi insists on helping him because hey, he is the guardian angel. And so Hoseok lets him, throwing an arm around Yoongi’s shoulder as he does a half wobble towards his bedroom door. His hand rests in the crook of where Yoongi’s snowy wing meets his shoulder blade and can’t help but run a finger over it, feeling the pillow feathers under his fingertips. Yoongi stiffens, turning his face to look at Hoseok.

“I’m sorry,” Hoseok says, moving his hand away. “Your wings are just so beautiful.” And he’s tired because he thinks Yoongi blushes a bit at the compliment.

After that he doesn’t remember much. He falls asleep wearing the same t-shirt and basketball shorts he was wearing throughout the day, not that he had any plans to change. Sleep comes easy and he doesn’t even notice the bed dipping behind him.

When he wakes up the next morning it’s because something is tickling his nose. He scrunches his nose up a couple of times, thinking maybe it’s just an itch but the feeling still remains. Hoseok swats a hand at the space in front of his nose before opening his eyes and when the back of his hand meets feathers he’s suddenly more awake than he was before, eyes popping open.

There’s feathers all over him. White, so white they’re almost translucent and Hoseok has to blind enough time that his eyes start hurting. He remembers Yoongi. He remembers last night because he wasn’t drunk. He just thought it was a dream but he remembers Yoongi. And Yoongi’s wings.

The wings are curled around Hoseok in a most elegant manner if that’s possible. The tip of the wings rests just under his chin, the feathers thrown over his body like a soft blanket. Actually, they’re softer than a blanket and much warmer than one too. He feels so comfortable. He’s not fully awake just yet but God, he feels comfortable and warm.

“You’re awake,” a soft voice speaks suddenly and in an attempt to turn his head as quickly as possible, Hoseok is sure he gets whiplash.

“You’re real! Wow, I thought it was just a dream,” Hoseok mumbles, bunching his hands into fists and rubbing at his eyes furiously to get whatever sleep is left in them out. Yoongi just chuckles.

“Did the wing wake you? I saw you try to fight one of my feathers,” Yoongi says, this time with an amused half smile.

“Yeah, it tickled me. It’s okay though. But uh, what’s up with,” he pauses, gesturing loosely at the wings and then at Yoongi. He gets it, Hoseok thinks.

“Oh sorry. This is how it was before I revealed myself to you. I mean you couldn’t see but whenever you slept I just kind of wrapped my wings around you like this to keep you safe,” Yoongi says quietly and now Hoseok is sure the other is blushing and it’s cute. It’s so cute. He’s his guardian angel and Hoseok just met him last night but Yoongi has been with Hoseok for years. It’s odd but Yoongi is so soft and cute and he protects Hoseok. It’s nice to have that.

“Thank you. Thank you, Yoongi.”

And they get up to start their day.

Notes:

Hopefully, you guys liked it. There is a huge chance I'll turn this into a cute series about Hoseok and his angel againt the world or something like that. Thanks for reading!
