He is but a simple man. A man with a wife. A man with children. A man who clocks in. A man who clocks out. He does his best to keep his eyes averted. He does his best not to mingle too deeply in court politics. He seeks to blend against the wall as all humble servants to the crown should—but just the same that doesn’t mean he doesn’t hear nor see, because he absolutely sees and he absolutely hears. He sees more than he should and hears equally more than a man of his humble station should.
