Benji and Armand talk after this moment in Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis

Armand and Marius had a dreadful quarrel in which Armand demanded that the Replimoids be hunted down and annihilated, and Marius accused Armand of having the savage and ignorant soul of a child.

Benji grabs Armand and drags him away from Marius. Armand doesn't resist, but Benji has to drag him, like he'd just stand there if Benji let go.

"Hey, I don't like Marius calling you a childish savage, but you are a hypervigilant, insane person. It doesn't matter if you're right. I'm not ruling it out, but the society we're building? I don't want it to be one where we stomp out potential threats because we're too scared to give them a chance."

Benji thinks Armand is going to start yelling at him next, but he hugs Benji, tight and desperate.

Notes:

i started thinking about this when benji is the one who calls armand out in Prince Lestat about believing vampires are evil. i am *very* interested in the two of them having a fairly difficult but unquestionably loving relationship. there's a lot more words there but i'm not sure i'll ever get around to doing it justice.
