Eva Stratt, Petrova Taskforce Director

Summary:

Ryland emails Stratt his weekly shopping list

Work Text:

Oh cheesus!

Shopping lists for the week are due in ten minutes. I really need one thing. Unfortunately she already got it for me and I broke it. I can't really not ask with the whole world at stake but I don't have to come right out and say it either.

I send her a quick email hoping to obfuscate my main point a little.

This week I want skittles 🍬 20 new test tubes (whoopsie 😅😣😗), and a bag of Doritos! Let's do this science!🧪🤓

Hopefully, she'll lecture me about my writing again and not the test tubes he thinks. She might not even notice he tries to convince himself. She's busy. It's just twenty tubes. Twenty tubes. I sigh and rubs the bridge of his nose. That was a bad one even for me. I tripped and dropped the whole box. I was probably lucky not to be cut.

Dear Dr. Grace,

As we have previously discussed please refrain from using emojis in professional correspondence. All emails from The Hail Mary Project will eventually be archived and subject to request for access from various parties including the public.

Sincerely,

Eva Stratt,

It worked! She didn't mention the test tubes. Maybe she knows we could always use more test tubes. I message back

K, lol

Dear Dr. Grace,

I am, in fact, not laughing.

Sincerely,

In her office, Eva Stratt sighs and pinches the bridge of her nose. She pulls up the security footages and scrolls through until she finds what's she's searching for: Doctor Grace lying on the floor with a box of shattered test tubes. She clips the moment and adds it to her file of funny Grace videos. If she's going to die for the world she might as well have a little fun at his expense.
