Chapter Text
Ukraine was in a field of sunflowers, the sunlight resting on her cheeks. She was carrying a small woven basket in her left hand, and her right hand reached for the flowers to pick them. Ukraine soon had a basket full and was happy with the amount she had. She was planning on making bouquets to sell to help earn her some more money because Ukraine was not very wealthy at all. Ukraine also made flower crowns and things as well with this little business thing of hers.
The blonde was reminiscing on the old times back when she and her brother Russia used to talk more as she waited for even a single customer to show up at the little shop she owned. Those memories now stung with a bittersweet feeling every time she thought about them, but it was still nice to think about maybe meeting brother Russia again.
”Excuse me! Are those for sale?” A voice called from the front.
Ukraine shook her head and stopped daydreaming as she heard the voice.
”A customer?” She thought. It’d been quite a while since someone came in to buy anything.
Then she noticed the long, brunette hair and the pink flowers that rested in it. It was her friend, Hungary.
”Oh, Hungary. I didn’t notice it was you! How have you been?” Ukraine asked with a smile.
”Oh, I’ve been pretty good. Sometimes I have to deal with that jerk Prussia and his antics, but I’ve learnt to ignore him. I wish we could still be friends like in the old days, though. It was nice.”
”Oh, I feel you for sure, Hungary. I miss my brother Russia a lot but my boss forbid me from seeing him so it’s been quite a while since we’ve talked…so I understand wanting to have the old days back, you know?” She let out a weak chuckle—(which made her breasts bounce a bit…Cue the sound effect lolll)
Well, let’s say Hungary was not making complete eye contact after that.
”You okay over there?” Ukraine asked. ”O-oh, yeah! Sorry, I…I got a little distracted…” Hungary replied. ”Well, anyways, I didn’t quite hear you when you first got in here. What’d you ask again?” ”Oh, yeah! I was asking if the bouquets in the window were for sale! I thought they were very pretty.” ”Why, thank you! I spent a long time making them…which one would you like?”
”Oh, uhm, well, the sunflower one looks beautiful. I’d love to have it in my house.” ”Oh, of course! You know, since you’re my friend and all, I’ll give you a discount!” ”Really?” Hungary’s eyes lit up and a pink hue tinted her cheeks.
“Yes! Why would I lie about that! You know me. Since you’re closer, would you be alright with grabbing them for me?”
”Of course! One moment…”
Hungary grabbed the bouquet from the window and went back to the register.
”How much are they?”
Ukraine gave the price and Hungary handed in the money.
”Thanks so much.” Ukraine said. ”Well, thank you! I’m so glad we could talk again. Maybe later we could meet up somewhere? I was hoping we could maybe meet more often.” Hungary requested.
”Oh, sure! I’d love to!” Then the two chatted about when they would meet again, and a place to meet.
”See you soon!” Hungary waved goodbye with a warm smile as she left the establishment. “Goodbye! See you soon!” Ukraine waved back.
Hungary looked back for a moment and caught a glimpse of her while she was waving. You can probably guess why.
Then she embarrassedly turned back and sped up her walking back home.
”Gosh, she probably thinks I’m such a creep now! Why would I do such a terrible thing? I mean, they are very…alluring to look at…I’m sure anyone would agree!” Hungary sighed. “I better just get home now. No time or reason to justify something so indecent.” She thought. Without knowing it, her cheeks were now tinted bright red just thinking about the encounter.
