Work Text:
Desire knows when things want. Instinctively, intrinsically, without thought. Desire cannot help but feel the tides in all other beings, pulling and pushing and grasping towards what those beings think will make them whole.
What they tell themselves will make them happy, even for a short while.
Things that they need to be complete.
Sometimes that swell is gentle, lulling Desire to be kind. Sometimes it is a tempest, pushing Desire into even wilder ecstasies. But when Desire looks to their older brother and feels, knows without a shadow of doubt, that he wants to no longer exist?
That hurts.
