Work Text:
Giyuu looked at the ohagi they'd made, it wasn't perfect but he hoped the receiver would appreciate it and accept his request to be friends, he had worked really hard on this.
“Still don't get why you like that angry idiot.” Sabito scoffed. He really didn't understand why, out of all the hashira, out of everyone in the damn world, Giyuu would pick Sanemi Shinazugawa to befriend. But he loved Giyuu and he would do anything to make him happy, so he stayed up all night with him making ohagi.
Through out the night there had been 6 failed attempts (even with the recipe Kamado had written out for them) and one time they had nearly set their estate on fire. Yes they were natural disasters in the kitchen but they had finally managed to come out with a hopefully, decent enough batch but it was only 3 because they had almost run out of ingredients after all their failed attempts.
“Do you think he'll like it?” Giyuu asked, looking at the ohagi, unsure.
“He better.” Sabito muttered. “ Common let's go.” He added. And so they wrapped the ohagi in a clean purple cloth and set out for the wind estate.
Cleaning the kitchen could wait till they got back, Giyuu was just to eager to see the wind hashira and give him his gift. The mental image of the wind hashira smiling at him as he ate the ohagi made Giyuu feel giddy and quicken his steps.
Soon enough, they were standing in front of Sanemi’s front door and Giyuu was nervous all of a sudden. Sabito noticed this and decided to help him. He knocked thrice on the door and they waited for a minute or so before the door slide open.
Sanemi looked shocked to see the two water hashira at his front door but then his expression changed into a scowl. “What?” He sounded like he was already out of patience, if he had any to begin with.
Giyuu could only stare at the man in front of him. He looked like he was half way getting dressed, his hair was wild, he hadn't put on the buckles that he wore as a kyahan so his pants were loose, the one button that held his shirt and jacket had not been done and said shirt and jacket were untucked and best of all, he hadn't put on his haori yet so Giyuu got to admire his muscled arms along with his chest. And that scowl. If he was always looking angry to keep people from liking him, it wasn't working.
“Shinazugawa.” Giyuu greeted with a small bow, face turning red.
“Hey.” Sabito said, turning his face away but the tip of his ears were pink.
“What do you both want?” Sanemi asked again. Giyuu shoved the wrapped cloth into Sanemi's chest and Sanemi strength his hands to catch it on reflex.
He blinked down at the package in his hands then up at Giyuu who was fidgeting then at Sabito who was watching him and back down at the package. “The hell is this” He nearly yelled.
“For you.” Giyuu answered. Sabito was still watching him with a frown.
“I don't want your damn gifts.” Sanemi said offering the package back to Giyuu.
“But it's ohagi.” Giyuu informed. This made Sanemi pause for a few seconds, then his face turned red in anger and embarrassment.
“Well now I don't want it even more!” This time he actually yelled as he shoved it into Giyuu's hands. “What gives you the right to walk in here giving me gift, and this no less.” He continued to rant.
“What the hell's your problem? Don't you like ohagi? Isn't it like, your favourite food?” Sabito shouted back.
“Doesn't mean I want it and especially not from you two. Get out of my house!” Sanemi said and then he proceeded to slam the door in their faces.
Giyuu looked down at the rejected ohagi and sighed. Sanemi didn't even taste it. Giyuu was not discouraged though, he would keep trying to get close to Sanemi. He turned to Sabito only to freeze. Sabito fists were clenched, he was grinding his teeth and his right eye was twitching, his breathing was harsh and he looked like he was going to kill someone. “Sabito.” Giyuu breathed. “Gimme the damn thing.” Sabito snatched the ohagi from Giyuu before he could answer and started drumming on the wind hashira’s door with his fist.
Sanemi who had barely gotten to his room groaned when he heard the insistent knocking. He stomped to the door and flung it open. “I said leave you..uhmp!” He didn't get to finish his sentence as he was tackled to the ground by Sabito.
Sanemi was so stunned he couldn't say anything, he didn't notice Sabito unwrapping the purple cloth either. “Wh..what the fuargh…” Sanemi attempted speaking but was once again interrupted as Sabito stuffed an ohagi in his mouth. Again, he was stunned into silence.
“Do you always have to be a fucking asshole? You know how long it took Giyuu and I to make these? How hard it was?” Sabito asked Sanemi, looking him straight in the eyes. Trying to focus on looking threatening and not thinking about Sanemi's hard muscles under his palm as his hands now rested on Sanemi's (bare) chest.
Sanemi stared.
Giyuu stared.
A few seconds later, Sanemi came to his senses. He made to spit the ohagi out but Sabito, as if anticipating this, covered Sanemi's mouth with his hands, “No, no you're gonna eat it and enjoy it and appreciate it.” Sabito snarled.
Sanemi struggled under him, unfortunately, Sabito was straddling his arms at his sides so all he could do was just wiggle under the water hashira's surprising strength. He was really strong, Sanemi's mind unhelpfully noticed.
“Can't you be nice for once, even when someone's trying to get close to you, you're always angry and chasing everyone away, but not this time. Giyuu worked hard on these so you're gonna eat it, every last one. Eat it you damn bastard!” Sabito forced more ohagi into the other hashira's mouth, even taking extreme measures by pinching Sanemi's nose to stop him from breathing so he would have to open his mouth to breathe and he could stuff more ohagi down his throat.
Giyuu could not believe his eyes, he knew it wasn't beyond Sabito to confront Sanemi, in fact he had expected it, but not this. Giyuu could do nothing but watch, he'd been watching from the beginning actually, watched as Sabito tackled Sanemi to the floor, straddled him and forced ohagi into his mouth, all while appreciating his hard work.
Giyuu watched the two men tangled on the floor with a furious blush as he couldn't help but think of other things they could do in this position that he'd love to watch.
When Sabito was done ‘feeding’ Sanemi all the ohagi, he looked at him for a second more, nodded once in satisfaction, then calmly got off him. Sanemi sat up immediately, coughing violently as he was now choking on ohagi.
“You lunatic! What was that about!!!? Sanemi screamed then coughed some more.
“We hope you enjoyed our gift, Shinazugawa.” Sabito said sweetly with an innocent smile on his lips. He even gave a little bow and Sanemi felt like strangling him. But before he could move, Sabito was already turning his back to leave. “Let's go Giyuu.” Sabito called over his shoulder, waving a hand for Giyuu to follow him.
Giyuu blinked out of his daze, he looked at Sanemi still sitting on the floor, wiping ohagi from his mouth, then at Sabito’s retreating figure and back at Sanemi. (Sanemi was nearly covered in ohagi and Giyuu wanted to lick it off him.)
“Uh.. bye Shinazugawa.” He walked away quickly before Sanemi could start insulting him and caught up with Sabito at the estate gate.
Sabito wrapped his hands around Giyuu's waist as they walk out, their kitchen still looked like they fought demons there so they needed to clean it.
Sanemi watched them leave, still seated on the floor. What. The. Fuck. Was. That.
When Sanemi woke up this morning, he wasn't expecting anything of that sort to happen. He had a mission in a village nearby, he planned on leaving by noon so he could get there before sunset. So, he slept in a little since he would be working all night, he woke up, started getting ready for his journey when he heard the first knock. It was the damn water hashira, both of them. They gifted him ohagi, he rejected, and then was assaulted with the fucking ohagi, in his own home! He couldn't believe this.
He looked down at himself, nearly his entire face down to his chest was now covered with ohagi, great, now he would need another bath to clean the mess Sabito made on him. Fuck Why'd he think of it like that.
He ran his hand through his now messier hair, thinking about what happened again, thinking about Sabito's weight on him, about how warm his hands were when they rested on his chest that time, about the look in Giyuu's eyes when he looked up at him one time seeking help. Giyuu had been watching them like they were the finest meal he simply had to devour immediately. He took in a deep breath as he felt his face heating up.
“Fuck.”
