    When Minho was five years old, he found a wounded sparrow laying in the gutter on his way to school — he had wanted to get a closer look but a harsh pull on his hand from his mother and a muttered "Baby, we're going to be late" stopped him from doing so. After all, he hated being late.

    Death being a permanent thing was something Minho was aware of but seeing it up close was a different story. The small animal died very early in its short life ; its skin was still bare of any feathers and it looked so frail, so pathetic that Minho should have been moved by the sight of the cruelness of Mother Nature.

    He wasn't. Instead, he moved it aside so he could search for pretty rocks in the bushes.
