    Summary

This work is inspired by “I’m Not Alone” by Whymsicalwyvern, which is an INCREDIBLE palegun fanfiction and I just had to write this.

The homeowner moved the cake to the table and disappeared down the hall before returning with two dark green, slender dinner table setting candles in one hand. “I don’t have any normal birthday candles, but I did find these in the closet yesterday. You can have the taller one and I’ll have the… less tall one. Go ahead, take a seat.”

“What do we need candles for?” the visitor asked, moving the chair underneath him.
“Well, you light them and then blow them out to make a wish. You know… I’m always surprised by what your memory chooses to hold onto or throw away,” he chuckled.

He ignored the slight verbal jab. “What do people usually wish for?”
“I don’t know. Money, health, love?” He rolled his eyes. “It’s just a childish tradition, you don’t have to overthink it. Just close your eyes and wish for the first thing that pops into your head.”
