Work Header

It hasn't been the same since you left

Summary:

Different people deal with grief different ways.

Some spend their time as close to people as they can

Others stay alone

And some continue on with their lives, differently, although

Notes:

I should be doing homework, not writing whatever this is.

Anywho, my english is pretty bad so keep that in mind when reading this

Also, I'm not very good at writing, also keep that in mind

(Shoutout to my friends Ash and Tori, they're cool)

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Avery didn't remember the last time they felt something besides this never-ending nothingness. It was like everything they knew and loved had been taken from them.

The computer was still off, it's dark screen reflecting the messy room. When was the last time they had cleaned it? A cockroach would consider this place a mansion.

They missed him, they missed him so so much.

It was a dumb feeling, they never actually met in real life! How could one feel grief for a person they had barely known?

But they simply couldn't help it.

Life seemed like it lost its meaning. They never thought a single person would have brought so much meaning to his life.

...

Avery slowly sat up on his their bed. Light headedness immediately hit their head. What was the last time they ate? You lose count of what you have done and what you haven't when you are in such a state.

They knew their mood wouldn't improve if they kept wallowing in sorrow. Was that what he would've wanted?

To have risked his fucking life for someone only for that said someone to hole up in a room and disappear from radar?

No, no no no, that wasn't right.

Avery lifted their head and looked at the black screen, seeing their own reflection on it.

Had they always had such eyebags?

The simple movement to turn on their table-lamp took too much energy.

Maybe he wouldn't mind if they stayed on bed for just some more time.

Maybe, maybe maybe

They couldn't stay on maybes

Maybe if they tried, maybe they could find him, maybe they would discover he's still alive.

Avery quietly spoke

"I'll find you, Derek"
