He doesn't say anything. He simply picks up his mug and takes a sip, letting the words steep in the darkness between them. It seems as though Parrot had given up all of the anger and disappointment Leo was expecting to see. There was no fight left in the bird to even pretend to be angry; instead, letting the exhaustion rise to the surface like a rotting fish with nowhere else to go.
