   Summary

   At high noon, the summer breeze was warm but not overly so, carrying the scent of baked apples, cinnamon and honey. Loki had taken residence beneath the shade of an ash tree, legs stretched out in front of him, a long-forgotten book laying open upon his lap, a basket of honeycakes and applerolls beside him. The branches spread above him, heavy with fruit, swaying gently in the rhythm set by the wind. Birdsong echoed loud and clear, melodic in its cadence and lilt.
