Chapter Text
The apartment was silent when the door pushed open, you had just worked a twelve hour shift at the hospital and couldn’t be happier to return home to the dark and quiet after the incessant noise and bustle of the emergency room. Dropping your keys on the counter next to the door and kicking off your shoes you let out an exhausted puff of air letting yourself deflate in the reprieve of finally being home.
The itch of your scrubs drove you crazy after the whole day scratching against your skin. It wasn’t like anyone else was home so why not, stripping yourself of your clothes down to your underwear. Turning on the hallway light you left your clothes at the door as you made your way to the bathroom, what you wanted right now was a hot bath and to sleep for another twelve hours if possible.
Turning the bath on you plugged the drain, pouring soap into the water to bubble up and soak into your skin when you entered the water. There was a window just above the bathtub that overlooked a bit of the city, you were over eight stories up so you didn’t think to close the blinds, there was just empty construction across the street, not even finished yet and it was too late at night to have anyone there.
Undressing the rest of the way you dipped your toes into the water, gauging the temperature to just how you liked it, turning the lights down to a soft glow you slowly submerged yourself into the steaming water.
–
Just across the street he watched you through the scope he held to his eyes, lounging back against his foldable chair, just diagonal of your window to where you wouldn’t see him if you looked. He watched you strip upon entering, pulling your shirt over your leopard print bra and pushing down your pants off your hips and down to the floor.
He had been watching you for a while now, it had started with just a simple run in while he was watching a different target, you had been heading to work and must have thought he was having a hard time, giving him a coffee and a smile when you left your favorite coffee place with your latte.
The coffee was slightly sweet and dark, a note on the top that told him he was cared for and loved, that same note he kept in his pocket while he watched you walk almost naked through the hallway and bend down to turn on the water. Grin widening as he stared at your ass now on full display through the glow of your lights he could feel his head starting to spin situations with you, bending you over the counter and ripping your panties to the side-
Taking a deep breath he adjusted himself in his pants, he knew you did it for him, that you were showing off for him and him only. You wanted him to watch you, that’s why you always smiled at him when you got coffee every morning, why you took the long way home just past where he stayed in a hideout.
It was all for him and he wanted you to know he could see it, leaving you little gifts at your doorstep and texts every morning. He wanted you all for himself, you had even talked to him a few times, lightly touching his shoulder once to ask him if seat next to him was open at a bar, you didn’t recognize him then but there were so many other spots you must have wanted to see him.
You two had talked a bit before you left back home, his footsteps mirroring his as you were followed home, he wanted you to be safe. It didn’t matter once you were home he had climbed to his spot and watched you decompress, hands in your pants as you got yourself off, his climax not far behind yours, watching you fall asleep sprawled across your bed.
He wanted to do that to you, exhaust you and hold you down, make you feel good as he pressed himself against you. But for now he would wait, watching you sink into the bubbles of the bath.
Your eyes were closed as he sent you a text, watching your phone light up on the rim of the tub and your soaked hands fumbling to open the notification.
‘You don’t know what you do to me.’
He saw your eyebrows furrow, tongue sweeping across your lips as you stared at your screen.
‘What do I do to you?’
Oh, is that the game you were playing? He barely glanced down at his phone while he typed, seeing you scrub your legs with a washcloth, the bubbles barely hiding anything as you contorted.
‘Why don’t you ask to find out? I can show you.’
Once again your phone lit up, you finished rinsing off as you sat up further, letting your chest rise slightly out of the water. God he loved how you taunted him, he could see you but not touch you, he could almost feel your skin under his hands as he watched your chest rise and fall with each breath.
Holding the phone up he could see you smiling, a slight raise of the eyebrow and upturn of your lips as you dried your hand to respond to him, to invite him in even if he was lucky.
‘Show me, or are you just all talk?’
What a dangerous game to play, he was up and out of his chair in seconds, gathering his mask and scope into his hands as he took off down the stairs, nothing could possible hold him back now.
—
You kept getting these strange texts, always when you were somewhere you thought you were alone, where no one you knew could possibly know or guess what you were doing. You knew you had a stalker, and at first you were worried but after the first few weeks you noticed the little things, gifts at your door and quieter walks through the city.
He was protecting you and you realized to your horror that you kind of liked it, you had confided in your best friend about it a while ago but all she did was worry about it and tell you to call the cops, but you knew they couldn’t help you, not that you wanted help now.
You had always been a bit antisocial, not going out unless necessary and not talking to people unless you felt you had to but after the first few texts you started to expect more. They didn’t fee menacing or like you were in danger, you could even feel eyes on you sometimes but couldn’t place from where.
After two months of your stalker making himself known you started to notice a bit more, the people who would normally harass you started to disappear, a few appearing on the news but no one was ever convicted or suspected.
More importantly you had noticed a very specific face starting to show up everywhere, at first just in the mornings at the cafe, then at bars, then finally you had started to see him behind you when you walked home, he wasn’t even trying too hard anymore to stay hidden.
Letting your phone down onto the ceramic tiles you realised you might have taken it too far this time, you weren’t even sure you knew who it was but just thinking about it had your heart rate spiking. You wondered if he would show up, if he would actually come into your apartment, take you.
Shaking your head you finished up in the bath, letting the drain plug out and toweling yourself off, but even as you rubbed moisturizer over your skin you couldn’t help but imagine the mystery man, if it was that man at the bar you wouldn’t be mad, he was attractive and had the most seductive smile you had ever seen.
The last time you saw him you had tried to talk to him but had to leave early from how nervous he made you, he was just so attentive, a piercing gaze that watched you even as you left. He wasn’t assertive or mean while you spoke, there was just something you couldn’t quite place in his quiet answers and folded hands.
You realized you had stopped moving while you fantasised about him, you didn’t even have confirmation yet but you could feel the anticipation under your skin as you threw on a tank top and bedclothes shorts.
Stepping into the living room you turned on your lamp in the corner, you weren’t a fan of overhead lights after being in the hospital all day after all. Falling down onto your couch you sprawled out on the cushions, you were so fucking tired, barely managing to sit up before you heard it.
