Chapter 1: Prologue or wtv

Chapter Text

He looks up at his goalie's face with furrowed brows. Concentrating, he swings his hockey stick, just barely making it into the net. He smiles widely, his two front gapped teeth just barely showing from underneath his helmet. His team cheers him on. The team leader, also known as his sister, Akari, gives him a big hug. This day was going great.

Everyone hops off of the ice, struggling to walk in their ice skates. Most of the team starts to walk towards their locker room, but not Allan. He stares at the ice, still excited about hitting that goal earlier. His sister walks from the locker room, grabbing Allan’s padded shoulder.

“You did good, kid…”, she smiles as she takes her eyes away from the ice rink to her little brother’s face, “Soon, you’ll be the team leader, just like me or even better.”

Allan looks up at Akari with a wide smile.

“You really think so?”

“I don't think so, I know it.”

Akari ruffled her little brother’s hair, “now go change so we can all go get pizza together.” Akari walks off with the rest of the team, heading outside. Allan looks back at the ice rink, a smile still on his face before he looks up. A man’s shadow across the rink from him.

Allan stares, knowing that everyone already left the rink.

“Hello? Uh, everybody left already! I recommend you go too!...”

Allan says to the man, but the man did not move. Allan swallowed hard before walking away to the locker room. As he changes to his regular clothes, he thinks about the man who was standing there. He started to believe that he was thinking about it too much and finished up changing his clothes. He picks up his hockey gear bag and starts to make his way out of the ice rink. He gets outside and starts to look for his teammates. ‘I swear they came out of this exit, didn't they?’ The boy thinks to himself. As looks around, he sees the same man from earlier standing nearby the same exit. He started to grow a bad feeling about the man, finding him suspicious. But, he did also need help.

“Excuse me, sir? Have you seen my teammates?”

Allan asked shyly as he looked up at the man. Yet the man did not answer. Allan lets out a small annoyed sigh. He goes to walk past the man, but before he could, the man grabbed his arm with a firm grip.

“Huh?! L-let go! Let go of me!”

Allan yells at the man as he tries to push him off, but the man was way too strong. Allan drops his hockey gear and quickly scratches the man with his now free hand. The man finally lets go, making Allan fall on the ground. The boy scrapes his knee, making it bleed. He quickly gets up, ignoring the dripping blood and runs back into the ice rink in an attempt to not only lose the man, but also to find his team. Allan runs as fast as he could looking for someone first, before hearing the exit he just got in through open again. He quickly runs into the locker room and hides behind one of the open lockers. He looks down at the floor in front of him, spotting blood on the ground. He didn't think too much of it as he quickly and carefully closed the locker door. He holds his breath as he hears the footsteps get closer. The man eventually reaches to the exact locker where Allan was hiding.

“There you are.”

The locker slammed open, hitting one of the lockers next to it. The man picks up Allan and throws him over his shoulder, starting to make his way out.

“NO! LET ME GO! STOP!”

Allan begs and begs, yet nothing is stopping the man from his tracks. The man makes it out through the same exit, taking Allan to his car. The boy continues to scream and cry out for help. As he was placed in the man's car, he could hear his name being called.

“ALLAN! ALLAN, GET OUT OF THERE!”

The man hurried quickly to get into the driver’s seat. As soon as the man lands into the seats, he locks all the doors and starts to make his way out of the parking spot. Akari runs as fast as she can, dropping her hockey gear. She desperately wants to get her little brother back. Her teammates try to catch up to her, wanting to help her yet also wanting to make sure that she’s safe. She chases the car, not daring to lose sight of it. Not until she was pulled back forcibly. She gasped, trying to get out of the person’s grasp until a car drove past in front of her. She looks up behind her, seeing her teammate, but also her best friend, Boomer.

“Dude, you could've gotten hurt!”

“But he has my brother!”

“I know that, but we can't lose you too…”

Akari looks down at the ground with disappointment. She looks up to where she last saw the car with Allan in it.

I will find you Allan.

I promise…

“Let's go to the precinct… then you can come to my house and I’ll tell my mom to call your parents?” Boomer recommends with a soft voice, not wanting to put anymore stress on Akari. Akari takes a moment before she nods her head gently.

“Let's go…”

Boomer takes Akari’s hand before the two go back to their other teammates. The group makes their way to the precinct, reporting everything that has happened. The police immediately get to work, pulling each kid to the side asking questions about what happened. After that stressful moment, the group separates and makes their ways home. Akari and Boomer walk together, yet this walk was quiet. Boomer tries to make conversations with Akari, but Akari was too lost in her thoughts.

“Akari, it’s going to be okay. The police are already searching…”

“What if they don’t find him…?”

“Trust me, they will and Allan will be okay”

Akari nods her head before looking down at the ground they walk on.

“I hope that he’ll be okay…”

After a good five minutes, they get to Boomer’s house. They walk inside, taking off their shoes before looking for Boomer’s mother, Ms. Beren. When they find her in the kitchen, they tell her everything that had happened. Ms. Beren instantly gets on the phone, making a call to Akari’s parents, Mr & Mrs. Mocaccino. Then she tells the girls to go to Boomer’s room. When the two get inside of the room, they sit down on beanbags.

“Do you think my parents will get mad at me?”

“No, not even a little bit. None of this was your fault.”

“But… I could've been more responsible… if I paid more attention, or just got there faster, I bet I could've saved him…”

“Akari, even if you did get there, that person probably would’ve taken you too…”

Boomer looks at Akari with a concerned expression on her face. After a minute of silence, Boomer opens her arms wide with a soft, kind smile on her face. Akari immediately breaks into tears before hugging Boomer tightly, searching for comfort, though it did not take long for her to find. They stay in this position for a while, that was before Mr. & Mrs. Mocaccino gets inside in a rush, looking for Akari to make sure that at least their little girl is okay.

“AKARI! AKARI, BABY?”

Her mother calls before Ms. Beren tells her that Akari is in Boomer’s bedroom, getting her to calm down. Akari hesitated. She was nervous. She pulled away from Boomer’s arms, but before she could walk away, Boomer took her hand.

“I’ll come with you.”

Akari felt relief flash over her. She nods, waiting for Boomer to get up. The two girls walk out of the bedroom, meeting up with their parents. Mrs. Mocaccino immediately steps forward hugging Akari tightly, happy that she’s at least in her arms. Akari tries to keep her brave face before breaking into tears once again and hugging back. Her mother tears up as well a bit, staying there for a few minutes before picking up her daughter into her arms.

“It’s okay baby, you did nothing wrong…”

Mrs. Mocaccino then turns to Ms. Beren, thanking her for having her daughter here and safe. The family of 3, that used to be 4, walks out of Ms. Beren’s home, getting into their car quietly.

The car ride home was awkward for the 3. Without Allan, it was quiet, yet not peaceful. Akari looks at the seat her brother would normally sit in. It was hard to attempt to move on from this.

I will find and kill the bastard that had taken him…

Trust me I will.
