Paris in the autumn lacks a pulse; it is bloodless, polite, and thoroughly tedious. At least, that is what Louis de Pointe du Lac believes until the second act begins at a dim Parisian playhouse. On stage is Lestat de Lioncourt- a starving artist wrapped in fraying blue velvet, spilling his soul for pennies, and living entirely on the surface of his perfect skin.
