    Summary

After the Judgement Arc, Avdol and Polnareff find themselves stuck on words that were left unsaid. Cooped up in a hotel room with their journey nearing its end, their conversation transforms into something desperate...

“Don’t be afraid to say it,“—Avdol grips the others shoulders like a vice—“Don’t be afraid to say it.”
The words come tumbling out of him, resonant and laced with a temperate fear of its own accord. Avdol tilted forward on the hotel bed, leaning until the fire in his amber gaze felt as heated as the flames charring within him, even when meeting his dear friends own metallic stare.
“What? I’m, er, not… Afraid, Avdol,” the Frenchman found himself choking out, not much surer of himself as his Egyptian friend was.
