“Wait, what?” Dunk asks, and Egg taps his chin up with the edge of his binder so that Dunk’s teeth clack together as his mouth shuts.
“Legend has it that Aerion passed a Check Yes or No note to you once. And you gave it on to Tanselle without even looking at it.
“So now he hates you.”
Dunk is aghast. Well. Hate is a word, but…
“Does everyone know this? How do I NOT know this?”
Tanselle throws up her hands when he moves his entreating gaze to her.
“Leave me out of this,” she says.
