Summary
The very first thing Vi notices when she walks through the front door of the house that she and her sister have been lucky enough to rent from her boss at an already-ridiculous discount is the rank, unmistakable odor of weed that is suspended in the air. She slowly exhales through her nose, too tired to be angry and unable to bring herself to care quite enough to be disappointed; instead, she simply cracks her knuckles as she rolls her neck, then toes off her shoes, choosing to allow the wall to take the brunt of her weight as she clumsily frees herself from tattered laces and battered soles.
