Intruder

Summary:

Chay’s eyes flew open, suddenly wide awake when he heard some sound from the outside.

Damn it, was what Chay went through already not enough?! He had his heart broken by a stupid and stupidly handsome mafia prince/his celebrity crush, got kidnapped, witnessed the aftermath of a very brutal massacre, which he still had no idea who was the cause of… and now someone’s breaking into his house?! There wasn’t even anything to steal! Chay went back to their old house because he didn’t want to stay at the compound. Or, not right now anyway. He just needed some time just to himself.

Work Text:

Chay’s eyes flew open, suddenly wide awake when he heard some sound from the outside.

Damn it, was what Chay went through already not enough?! He had his heart broken by a stupid and stupidly handsome mafia prince/his celebrity crush, got kidnapped, witnessed the aftermath of a very brutal massacre, which he still had no idea who was the cause of… and now someone’s breaking into his house?! There wasn’t even anything to steal! Chay went back to their old house because he didn’t want to stay at the compound. Or, not right now anyway. He just needed some time just to himself.

Porsche wasn’t sure if he liked the idea but Kinn proved to be a surprisingly useful ally to Chay. Kinn assured Porsche that no one will dare to do anything to Chay and that Chay’s comfort should be the priority. Porsche surprised Chay by actually listening to someone. That was a new feature for Porsche for sure.

Chay wanted a moment of peace and quiet while thinking about his university life. He decided to take a gap year to figure out what he actually wanted. He felt like studying music might have been mostly because of Wik. And as much as Chay enjoyed playing guitar, was that really something HE wanted to do? He can still pick up some classes to learn it, but maybe his major should be something that will more likely secure him a well paid job.

Porsche supported that idea without hesitation and offered Chay all the help he could.

All Chay wanted a moment of peace but now’s he about to fucking die during a home invasion? How was that fair?! Did he not go through enough?

Maybe it was just a stray cat or something. Maybe Chay was just panicking on instinct. Chay was in the living room, on the sofa after he fell asleep while watching TV. Maybe the sound didn’t even come from the outside. Maybe it was from the TV. Chay reached for the remote and muted the sound.

He held his breath and listened.

Nope. There was definitely someone outside.

Chay swallowed and rolled over from the sofa, ending up on the floor, thinking where to go now. Upside? That might be a bad idea. He might just corner himself in his own house. But his phone was there. On the charger, on the nightstand.

A weapon. Chay needed a weapon and then he would try to get to his phone. Yes. That was a good plan.

Chay began to crawl towards the kitchen, carefully listening for any sounds that would indicate an immediate danger. Once in the kitchen, he pressed his back to the counter and blindly reached up for anything that could be used as a weapon. He gasped when he accidentally knocked over a glass that ended on the floor and broke.

Chay finally got a hold on a weapon. A pan. Well… could have been worse.

Chay decided to not waste his time by trying to find anything better and with his weapon in hand began to make his way towards the stairs. Still staying low, on his hands and knees but as quickly as he could.

Chay froze when he heard the sliding door open and someone entering the house.

“What are…” Someone suddenly grabbed Chay’s ankle.

Chay waited for nothing and swayed his weapons. The iron pan collided with the attacker’s head with a dull clang.

“Fuck…” the attacked groaned while holding his head.

Chay would swear the voice was rather familiar but in that moment he didn’t let his logic shine and just whacked the attacker again, rendering him unconscious before he scrambled to his feet and ran to the light switch to see who he just, maybe, killed.

“Oh, fuck… oh, no…” Chay’s eyes widened when he saw Kim. Laing on the floor. With a bloody gash on his forehead with blood pouring out. Chay knew that head and face injuries usually look worse than they are because they bleed a lot but the fact Kim was not moving was hard to ignore.

“P… P’Kim?” Chay asked in a small voice and made a small step closer. “P’Kim, please don’t be dead,” he whispered. What if Chay killed him? Chay killed a mafia prince. Worse. He killed his brother’s mafia boyfriend’s brother. Kinn will want Chay dead. And he will break up with Porsche. All because of Chay!

“Fuck…” Chay whined and dropped the pan. “Fuck, fuck, fuck…” he was chanting while running up to his room to get his phone, taking the steps two at a time.

“Hia! Hia? Hia I did something… I messed up… I… I think… what? What time… no I don’t know what it is… listen hia, please… PORSCHE, I KILLED KIM!...” the silence on the other side of the phone was almost deafening.

“I’m sending someone there. What happened, nong?” Porsche asked and Chay did his best to tell him what had happened.

“Ok… ok, listen. Calm down. I don’t think he’s dead. You need to go check…”

“I don’t want to, hia. I don’t want to touch a dead per…”

“He’s not dead. Trust me. Go and make sure. Is he breathing?”

“I don’t know?”

“Well… go and look.”

Chay took a deep breath and left his room, tiptoeing to stairs and crouching down just enough to see Kim.

“P’Kim hasn't moved an inch since the last time I saw him. And there is definitely more blood now.”

“But is he breathing?”

“I don’t know! He’s wearing that stupid leather jacket… oh, God, I shouldn’t insult him… I killed him, I can’t insult him!”

“You didn’t kill him, nong. Trust me. I’ve been hit in the head many times.”

“Explains a lot,” Chay muttered.

“What?”

“What? Nothing. Hia… what do I do now?” Chay whined.

“Go make sure he’s still alive and wait for someone to get there.”

“Why aren’t you coming?” Chay pouted.

“I’ll be waiting here. But there are people ready to head out immediately. It would take me too long to get dressed and everything.”

“Ok… ok I’ll go see if he’s still… oh! I think he moved!” Chay perked up when he was sure Kim moved his head a bit.

“See? Not dead then.”

“B-but… isn’t that worse?” Chay whispered.

“What?”

“He’s going to be angry. And P’Kinn’s going to be angry. And… and… then you’ll be angry when P’Kinn breaks up with you and… maybe I should just… you know…”

“What are you planning to do, nong?” Porsche asked, amused. “Go there and finish him?”

“What?! No, of course not. But… maybe I should run? Maybe I should run. I think I should run, hia. I… I’m going to run. I’m going to run to Japan and become a cat-boy… or… or something… I’m going to be one of the cafe boys… people will ask me to step on them! Hia, I will have to step on people…”

“You are not going to become a cat-boy, Chay! And no stepping on anyone. Not without graduating from a university first. Get the degree and then you can become a cat-boy,” Porsche said, way too amused in Chay’s opinion.

“Someone’s here, hia!” Chay gasped.

“It’s our people. I want you to come with them to the compound, ok?”

“O-ok,” Chay nodded.

“I’m going to hang up now. I’ll see you soon, nong.”

“Ok.”

“What the… fuck?”

“P’Big?” Chay asked in a small voice.

“Chay. What… what happened? Who did it? Where are they? How many of them…” Big began to ask while the other bodyguard was checking on Kim.

“No one’s here, P’Big,” Chay shook his head while going down the stairs.

“So what happened to him?” Big frowned and glanced at Kim who let out a quiet groan when the bodyguard touched his head but didn’t wake up yet.

“Ehm… I did…” Chay whispered.

“Come again?” Big raised his eyebrows and even the other bodyguard looked up from Kim, looking at Chay as if making sure he heard it right.

“Well… ehm…” Chay glanced at the bloodied pan on the floor.

“You knocked Kim out with a pan?!” Big blinked, his hand slipping into his pocket to get his phone. “No one would believe me that,” he muttered while snapping a few quick pictures of the crime scene.

“Is P’Kim… ehm… is he going to be alright?”

“I don’t think it’s that serious but we definitely need to get him to the compound to let our doctors make sure,” the bodyguard next to Kim said when he accepted that Chay really said what he said.

*

“Khun Kim, you have a mild concussion,” The doctor informed Kim who woke up on their way to the hospital. Kim was dazed but coherent, right now sitting on the hospital bed while pressing an ice pack to his head.

“Oh god…” Chay whined.

“It’s nothing serious,” the doctor assured Chay, quickly but discreetly checking on the boy since Chay seemed to go from green to pale upon hearing that. “Khun Kim will be absolutely fine. He will be allowed to go to his suite at the compound but only if he promises to stay there overnight, at least. And if someone will be there with him. Khun Kim now needs rest, no screens, and whoever will be there with him needs to wake him every three hours to check for deterioration.”

“I’ll stay!” Chay said quickly.

“You hit me with a pan?” Kim muttered and frowned a bit as if still processing what happened.

“I’m sorry, P’Kim,” Chay whined. “I’d never want to hurt you for real. I mean… I… I imagined… maybe once or twice… after what you did… BUT I would never do that! Never! I didn’t know it’s you when I hit you… well… I thought the voice was a little bit… but I did NOT know! I swear! Really!” Chay was looking from Kim to the doctor and back.

“Khun Kim, I asked your family not to see you tonight. You need rest and… well…”

“They’re all freaking lunatics,” Kim grumbled.

“But you do need someone with you now. Is it alright if khun Chay will be that person or would you want someone else?”

“Chay’s fine,” Kim shook his head a bit.

“B-but… wait… what if he’s going to kill me now?” Chay whispered while looking at the doctor.

The doctor looked at Kim who blinked slowly while looking at a picture on a wall.

“I wouldn’t worry about that being a possibility right now, khun Chay. I’ll tell you what you need to watch out for now before I let you and khun Kim go.”

*

“Careful, P’Kim… careful…”

“This… where are we?” Kim muttered while looking around.

“My room. I don’t want to go to yours when you’re like this… I don’t know if you would allow me to go there otherwise and also you might have weapons all over that place,” Chay was saying while helping Kim in the bed.

“Weapons?”

“Yes. You might hold a grudge now? Against me? So I don’t want to tempt you by letting you near your weapons… you might want to kill me or… or sue me… P’Kim, please say you don’t want to sue me!” Chay yelped and looked at Kim. “You can’t sue me! You… you broke into my house! And… and also… I can’t afford a lawyer so… unless P’Kinn would… but why would he since he’s your brother… P’Kim, say you don’t want to sue me, please,” Chay shook Kim’s shoulders, waking Kim up.

“Hm… wh…”

“Ehm… the… the doctor said to wake you up every three hours, remember?” Chay said the first thing he could come up with.

“It wasn’t… too soon for it to…”

“No, no, it has been three hours… but just say you’ll not sue me.”

“Sue you?” Kim muttered. “I don’t want to sue you… I want to kiss you, Chay… and date you… and… and… you knocked me out… I love you… no one ever managed to…” Kim fell asleep while Chay was having a hard time processing what he was hearing.

“P-P’Kim?” Chay whispered but Kim was fast asleep and Chay didn’t dare to lie to Kim again about what time had passed.

“What the fuck?” Chay whispered and stepped back. “I hit him with a pan and he says he loves me?! What’s wrong with him? Is it a mafia thing? Or maybe I hit P’Kim too hard! The doctor made a mistake. There is something seriously wrong with P’Kim’s brain now! I broke him! I broke WIK! The fans will kill me… great now I have to worry about WIK’s fanclub on top of P’Kim about to murder me for the attack… Chay, idiot…” Chay buried his face in his hands and let out a desperate groan.

Just as he was about to grab a tablet, book a flight ticket to Japan and order a pretty cat-boy outfit, Porsche and Kinn entered the room.

“Tankhun doesn’t know about this. We didn’t want to wake him up and also Kim would not appreciate it,” Kinn said.

“P’Kinn… I’m so sorry I swear I didn’t mean to…”

“Sorry? What for? No one ever managed to knock Kim out. Not during training. Not during the missions… the only person that ever managed to do so was he himself when he fell down from a tree as a child.”

“Well done, nong!” Porsche smiled and pulled Chay in a hug.

“Don’t hug me, hia!” Chay whined. “I… I hurt someone. You can’t hug me right now,” he pouted while hugging his brother closer.

“Why was Kim in your house in the middle of the night?” Kinn asked.

“I have no idea,” Chay shook his head.

“The doctor said you’ll keep an eye on him now?”

“I will… unless you want to do it yourself, P’Kinn?”

“No thanks. Babysitting Kim was always a nightmare,” Kinn laughed a bit. “He’s all yours.”

“No he’s not!” Chay yelped. “I… I mean… you didn’t mean… right… yes… I will look after him, right. Yes.”

“Are you ok, nong?” Porsche frowned.

“Uh-huh,” Chay nodded quickly.

“If you need anything, Chay, press the emergency button,” Kinn said while he and Porsche were on their way out of the room.

“I will,” Chay nodded, more than ready to call for help if needed.

“Goodnight,” Porsche smiled at his brother before he and Kinn left.

Chay grabbed his phone and set a timer for three hours before he went to lay on the bed next to Kim. Luckily the bed was big enough for both of them to fit there comfortably.

He was carefully watching Kim until his eyelids became too heavy and he fell asleep.

Three hours later, Chay was woken up by his alarm and quickly turned it off. He was looking around, a little bit confused about what was happening and where he was. When he looked at Kim sleeping next to him, he quickly remembered everything.

“Oh… so it wasn’t just a dream then,” Chay sighed while sitting up. He moved closer and placed his hand on Kim’s shoulder. “P’Kim… P’Kim?” he whispered and gently shook Kim' s shoulder.

“Hm…” Kim groaned but slowly opened his eyes.

“P’Kim, how are you feeling?” Chay asked in a quiet tone.

“You woke me…” Kim muttered.

“Yes. I need to know how you are doing, P’Kim.”

“I had a… dream… don’t wake me when I have a dream…”

“I’m sorry, P’Kim,” Chay whispered. “But I need to know how you are feeling.”

“You were there…”

“Hm?”

“In the dream…”

“Oh no…” Chay swallowed. “What… what were you doing to me? You imagine what you’ll do to me when you’ll get better?” he asked nervously and began to panic when Kim nodded a bit.

“P’Kim, please… I really didn’t do it on purpose!” Chay began to reason with the older one.

“You let me kiss you…” Kim muttered with a smile.

“P’Kim, I know you’re angry but you can’t imagine… wait, what?” Chay paused when Kim didn’t say he imagined tying Chay up and torturing him to get even.

“Kiss…” Kim nodded.

“Y-you… what?”

“It was nice,” Kim muttered.

“P’Kim why were you at my house?” Chay asked and when Kim began to push himself up he helped him sit up and lean against the headboard. “Here,” he reached for a glass of water and handed it to Kim who took a sip.

“I heard you’re there,” Kim said. “Alone…” he frowned. “Who let you?” he looked at Chay who was getting hopeful that he didn’t hurt Kim too badly since he seemed to be functioning rather well.

“Let me? It’s not like I needed permission to be there.”

Kim shook his head. “It’s dangerous…”

“P’Kinn said that no one will dare to do anything.”

“You were there alone,” Kim frowned. “No guards. No nothing…”

“Were you… you were there making sure I’m safe?” Chay blinked in surprise.

Kim nodded a bit. “It’s all I’ve ever wanted… you to be safe…”

“P’Kim… did you… did you do what you did because you thought you’ll keep me safe that way?” Chay asked carefully, not wanting to get too hopeful.

“I’m dangerous,” Kim sighed.

“How dangerous can you be? Even I can knock you out,” Chay muttered jokingly. “Sorry!” he said quickly when Kim looked at him and Chay had no idea if he didn’t just insult the other one.

“You knocked me out,” Kim whispered in awe. “No one can do that,” he reached out his hand towards Chay who smiled and took it.

“I’m sorry about that, P’Kim,” Chay said, honestly.

“But… I am still dangerous, Chay. It’s dangerous to be with me,” Kim sighed.

“It’s dangerous for hia to be with P’Kinn but it didn’t stop them, did it?” Chay noted.

“Porsche can fight.”

“If someone will want to shoot him, him being a good fighter will not help him in any way,” Chay muttered.

“Hm…” Kim nodded and took another sip of water. “I didn’t want to.”

“Didn’t want what?” Chay frowned.

“To do it. To hurt you,” Kim said quietly.

“You thought it’s the best way to keep me safe,” Chay said and Kim nodded. “But… this is not something you get to decide on your own, P’Kim,” Chay shook his head. “I should have a say in that as well, don’t you think?”

Kim nodded. “I was scared.”

“Scared?” Chay frowned.

“Of… giving you the choice. I was sure you'll choose not to risk anything, choose to not be with me. I didn’t… I didn’t want to have to hear that. So…”

“But you were still around. You are still looking after me and…”

“I have to. I want you safe. I knew Gun would want to get to you. You were a valuable leverage. He could use you against Porsche who would then make Kinn do anything to keep you safe and...”

“What? Wait, what? You were at Yok’s bar? You did… you killed all those people? On your own?!” Chay asked in shock.

“They would hurt you,” Kim shrugged a bit.

“But there were so many of them! And… and why did you run away then? Why didn’t you stay there and…”

“I didn’t want… you to know what I’m capable of,” Kim whispered and looked down.

“You didn’t want me to know that you’re capable of going over and beyond to keep me safe?” Chay raised his eyebrows.

“That I’m capable of killing.”

“P’Kim…” Chay whispered and gave Kim’s hand a little squeeze before he shifted closer and gently took Kim’s chin to make him look up.

“I’m dangerous, Chay,” Kim whispered.

“To others. Not to me,” Chay muttered. “I can take you out with a pan if needed,” he smirked before he leaned in and pressed his lips against Kim’s.

Kim let out a surprised sound and dropped the glass, glad that there wasn’t much water left in it. He placed his hand on Chay’s cheek before he moved it into Chay’s hair.

“Is this a dream?” Kim whispered against Chay’s lips.

“No,” Chay smiled and kissed Kim again. “If I knew all it takes for you to be able to communicate like a normal human being is to knock you out, I’d whack you with something ages ago,” he giggled.

Kim huffed out a laugh as well.

Soon they settled down, Chay resting on Kim’s chest while Kim was running his fingers through Chay’s hair.

“P’Kim?”

“Hm?” Kim smiled.

“Why did you go inside? You were just watching the house, right? So why did you go inside?” Chay asked, curiously.

“I heard something break.”

“I broke a glass while getting the pan. I heard something and thought someone's breaking in.”

“There was a cat. I was petting her but then she ran away, bumping into a trash can while doing so.”

“Aww…” Chay giggled and cuddled closer to Kim who smiled and pressed a kiss into Chay’s hair.
