Work Text:
Gwen yapped, turning her snout towards Toshiko and Suzie, the pair curled up on their bed. She wagged her tail, and looked mournfully out of the door, “C’mon!”
Toshiko nosed her way out from underneath Gwen, and replied in a soft bark, “We have a race later,” her pale grey, almost silver fur shone in the early morning light far more than Suzie’s near black, or Gwen’s own rippling darker grey.
Gwen bounced over to her, nuzzling against her mate, “Stretching?”
Toshiko huffed, but twirled herself against Gwen, and twisted her own head around to Suzie, the both of them looking at her with wide, sorrowful, blue eyes. Suzie growled, a gentle sound, but pushed herself up onto four paws, approaching her mates.
“Your nervous energy is going to drive me up the wall,”
Gwen just rested her head upon Suzie’s shoulder, and Toshiko joined the pair, as they walked into the snow together.
They made a good team.
