Work Text:
There once were Links in a chain,
a need for nicknaming was plain.
Because there were nine,
claiming "Link is mine!"
Keeping their name was in vain.
-
There once was a hero named Sky,
who fell from lands up high.
He was easy to amuse,
always ready to snooze,
and with his loftwing he loved to fly.
-
There once was a hero named Four,
whose forge work was without flaw.
He talked to his hat,
was nearly eaten by a cat,
and of himself he was incredibly sure.
-
There once was hero of Time,
who cherished his dear fairy's chime.
Gannondorf he did flee,
split the timeline in three,
the sword only wanted him in his prime.
-
The Hero of Legend was their vet,
on his fingers magic rings were set.
He wore a blue cap,
and loved a good map,
and was a merman whenever he got wet!
-
There once was a hero who healed,
he had magic aplenty to wield.
Woke a princess with a kiss,
thought exploring was bliss,
Hyrule used magic as his shield.
-
There once was a boy who sailed,
and from a small island he hailed.
Not a hero by right,
but instead his own might,
Wind's determination always prevailed.
-
There once was hero of Wars,
whose allies came through magic doors.
His long scarf was blue,
to his mission he was true,
even when facing his flaws.
-
There once was a humble goat-herd,
who suffered something absurd.
A wolf he became,
took Twilight for a name,
never sure which form he preferred.
-
There once was a hero named Wild,
trained as a knight since a child.
No memories had he,
from before the Calamity,
but his plans would never be mild.
-
There once were boys named Link,
who were stronger than one might think.
An evil to defeat,
a story they repeat,
worthy of capturing in ink.
