Work Text:
“Dad, can I please go to the movies with Ron later?” Harry asked, walking into the living room.
Remus looked up from his book. “What movie are you seeing?” He asked curiously.
Harry had already rehearsed what he was going to say a million times. “They are showing ‘Cars’ for the 20th anniversary. Ron and I wanted to catch one of the 7:00 showtimes tonight.” He said smoothly.
Of course, this wasn’t what they’d actually be seeing. They’d be sneaking into one of the 18-rated horror movies called ‘The Soul Stealer’, because that was the really fun one!
“Hmm, 7'oclock was it? How about this; if you finish folding up and putting away your clean laundry, I’ll drop you off.” Remus said, smiling as he saw Harry begin to beam with excitement.
“Yes!! Thanks, dad! You’re the best!” Harry exclaimed, wrapping his arms around the man. He felt slightly bad for taking advantage of his father's kindness, but he was sure he'd feel better after seeing the movie with Ron!
“Hey, what about me?” Sirius asked, coming into the room and scooping the boy up from behind.
The twelve year old boy laughed, kicking his legs as he was swept up off his feet. “Hahahaha! Pa, stop it!” He cackled as he was tackled onto the couch opposite of Remus.
Sirius continued to hold him in his arms, resting his chin on top of his head. “You started it, mate. Tell your dad who your real favorite is, hm?” Sirius asked, messing the boy’s hair. Harry chuckled, shaking his head. “Okay, okay! You are!” He exclaimed.
Remus snorted, rolling his eyes. “Yes, that’s very convincing, Sirius.” He said fondly, turning the page in his book.
“Since that’s the case, you can give him money for snacks.” Remus smirked. Sirius dropped his jaw in betrayal, looking over at his husband with wide eyes.
“Oi, do I look like I’m bloody made of money? Oh wait, what’s that?” Sirius reached behind Harry’s ear and pulled out a 20$ bill, much to the boy’s pleasure. “Awesome! Thanks, pa!” Harry exclaimed.
“Make sure you fold your clothes before you go.” Remus reminded the boy. Harry nodded. “Okay, I will.” He said.
When the boy left to go to his room, Sirius walked over and sat next to Remus. Remus looked up from his book, lifting an eyebrow at the man warily.
“Sirius, don’t even think about trying anything. I’m trying to finish up this chapter before lunch.” He warned lightly, sensing the mischievous vibe coming off of the man.
“Awww, c’mon Moony! Gimme a smooch~” Sirius smirked, playfully puckering his lips and placing kisses up and down Remus’s neck.
Remus couldn’t help but to chuckle, setting the book aside after marking the page so he could find it again. “Siri! I mean it!” He laughed as he was pulled into the man’s lap while being showered with kisses.
“What? It’s not my fault you are so damn attractive.” Sirius smirked, wrapping his arms around Remus’s waist and kissing him on the lips.
Remus melted into the kiss, wrapping his arms around the man’s neck. “You never knew how to take anything seriously, even when we were kids.” Remus teased, playfully stroking Sirius’s long dark hair.
“Oh, that's not true!” Sirius exclaimed, taking Remus’s hand in his and kissing it. “No?” Remus asked with a lighthearted smile.
“Nope. I’ll have you know, I take your baked goods very seriously.” He said, thinking back to Remus’s delicious pies.
Remus scoffed, shaking his head. “Of course that’s what you take seriously. You eat them faster than anybody else can.” He joked.
Sirius’s hand went south to cup Remus’s arse, giving it a flirtatious rub. “Well, to be fair, those aren’t the only baked goods I enjoy…” He teased.
Remus blushed and laughed, lightly nudging him. “Sirius Lupin! You pervert!” He joked. Both men continued to flirt and chat, enjoying each other’s company.
Sirius and Remus had adopted Harry after their close friends James and Lily had passed in a bad accident. Harry was only an infant at the time, and while Remus and Sirius had only just gotten married a month prior, they immediately adopted him without question and raised him as their own.
Harry knew he was adopted, but it didn’t make him love his fathers any less. He was raised to have a great childhood, and he felt safe with them.
Remus and Sirius considered adopting Harry to be the best decision they’ve ever made. Even when he had his occasionally inevitable naughty moments.
In his room, Harry texted Ron and told him that their plan had worked. He was so excited to see the horror movie he definitely wasn’t old enough to watch!
Normally, Harry was well behaved. He listened to his fathers and obeyed their rules.
However, Harry was still a twelve year old boy. He was bound to push boundaries and see what he could get away with.
Besides, as long as they kept quiet and stuck together, they should be able to get away with it!
…Right?
“Alright, Harry. I’ll be out in the parking lot when you come out. Have fun!” Remus exclaimed with a smile as Harry got out of the back seat.
Harry closed the door behind him and waved goodbye. “Thanks, dad!” He called, walking into the movie theater.
“Harry!” Ron exclaimed, waving at him as he held the tickets. Harry smiled and made his way over to his best friend. “Hey, Ron! Are you ready to watch the craziest, most terrifying movie ever?” Harry asked theatrically with a grin.
Ron nodded, his long red bangs flopping about. “You bet I am! I’m getting an adrenaline rush just thinking about it!” Ron exclaimed with a grin.
Harry chuckled. “You know, we could get in a lot of trouble if we get caught. Are you sure you’re up for this?” He asked as they walked towards the ticket taker.
Ron snorted. “Oh, please! We’ve done way worse than this before.” He teased, though to his credit, he was definitely correct.
Ron and Harry had found themselves in mischievous predicaments quite often when they hung out.
Sometimes it was intentional, other times it wasn’t. One thing was certain, though; they were fiercely loyal to each other. If one went down, they both did.
“I suppose you’re right.” Harry smirked as they walked up to the ticket taker and handed them the tickets. “You are going to be in theater number seven to your right! Enjoy your movie!” The young worker exclaimed with a smile.
Ron and Harry each gave a polite nod and thank you before slowly making their way down the hallway.
“What theater is it in?” Ron asked Harry, looking around. They didn’t want to ask any of the workers where they were showing the horror film, not wanting to draw any unnecessary and suspicious attention to them. So, Harry decided to figure out another way to find the theater.
Tugging Ron to the side by the arm, both boys waited around the corner of the hallway they had just entered. Ron lifted a confused eyebrow at Harry, who placed a silencing finger to his lips so he wouldn’t speak.
Their ears perked up as they heard the sound of the ticket taker speaking to another customer.
“‘The Soul Stealer’ is going to be in theater 10! It’s right at the end of the hallway!” The enthusiastic worker said.
Harry and Ron shared a mischievous smirk, pleased with themselves for figuring out a solution. So, they quickly made their way down the hallway towards theater number 10.
“Good idea, mate!” Ron praised, fist-bumping Harry.
Harry chuckled. “Eh, it was nothing.” He shrugged, truthfully quite proud of his plan. When they finally got into the theater, they went to the very top left corner to get the best view of the big screen.
Once they had finally relaxed and settled in, Harry had suddenly remembered that they were forgetting something. Something very important- the theater snacks!
“Damn, I forgot to get some bloody snacks. What did you want?” Harry asked his friend. Ron thought about it for a moment before replying with, “I’ll have a grape fizzy pop with a medium popcorn and gummy worms.” Ron whispered.
Harry nodded, standing to his feet. “I’ll be right back.” He said, quickly making his way back down the steps.
Meanwhile, shortly after Harry had gone into the theater, Remus had realized that the boy had accidentally left his phone in the car.
Wanting to make sure he had it in case of an emergency, Remus pulled back into the parking lot and parked before making his way into the theater.
When he got inside, he went straight up to the ticket taker. “Hello, madam. I have a question for you. You see, my son accidentally left his phone and I wanted to bring it to him. Do you know what movie theater ‘Cars’ is playing in?” Remus asked curiously.
The ticket taker nodded and pointed down the hallway with a smile. “Yes, sir! It’s in theater 7!” She exclaimed. Remus politely nodded. “Thank you!” He said, making his way down the hallway towards theater 7.
When he got there, he was surprised to not see Harry, nor Ron. His eyes looked over every single row from top to bottom, and there wasn’t a sign of either of them.
‘Hmm, well that’s odd…’ He thought. Perhaps they were in the bathroom or at the concessions counter? It was always possible, of course.
So, he once again made his way down the hallway and back towards the lobby. Little did he know that trouble was lurking right beneath his nose.
Remus smiled as he caught sight of Harry getting ready to get in the concessions line. “Harry!” He exclaimed, walking over to the boy and waving.
Harry’s eyes widened, his head snapping over as he heard the familiar voice calling his name. “D-dad?! W-What are you doing here?!” He asked nervously.
Remus grinned, handing the phone over to his spooked son. “You forgot this in the car, silly boy!” He joked, fondly petting Harry’s head.
Harry looked tense, like he had just seen a ghost. “O-Oh, dang it! Hahaha! Silly me! Where were my brains?” He laughed sheepishly, his voice cracking as he grabbed his phone and put it in his pocket.
Remus studied the boy for a moment, clearly seeing that something was bothering the boy.
“Harry, are you alright? You look paler than a sheet of paper.” Remus pointed out, his eyes filled with concern as he looked down at him. Harry silently gulped, his hands beginning to sweat.
Normally, he wasn’t bad at lying. He wasn’t necessarily the best at it, as Gryffindors tended to be natural truthtellers (for better or for worse) as it was.
However, with his father so close to the potentially troubling scene, Harry found himself anxious.
“I-I’m fine.” Harry said, adjusting his glasses. “I just…don’t wanna miss the movie, you know? There are only so many previews, and…whatnot.” Harry trailed off awkwardly.
Remus lifted a suspicious eyebrow. “Harry, what is the problem? Tell me the truth, you know you can tell me anything.” He said.
‘Oh, no the hell I can’t!’ Harry thought. If he told his father what he and Ron were really doing, he knew he’d be sleeping on his stomach for quite some time afterwards. So, he was very careful about how he navigated this next part of the conversation.
“Yeah, I know dad. It’s just…well, I’ve been worried about me and Ron. I feel like maybe we are…growing apart.” Harry smoothly lied, sadly looking down at his feet.
Remus’ eyes softened as he placed a comforting hand on Harry’s shoulder. “Oh, son.” He said empathetically.
Harry felt terribly guilty for lying right to his father’s face, especially when he was being so supportive. However, he knew that it was important to commit to the lie now. So, he did.
“That’s why I wanted us to see this movie together. I know we always watched animated movies growing up, so I thought this would kind of break the ice between us and begin to get things back on track for our friendship.” Harry lied.
Remus pulled Harry into a hug, wrapping his arms around him. “Harry, you and Ron have a very special relationship. You are always there for each other, and I know that you two will work things out eventually. Even if it isn’t today, don't stress over it. Just enjoy yourselves, okay?” Remus gave his fatherly advice.
Harry nodded. “Yeah, okay. Thanks, dad.” Harry said with a soft smile. Remus gently placed a soft kiss to the boy’s forehead and gave him a gentle grin.
“Well then, I’ll be back soon. Have fun, and-“ Remus was cut off by a rather distracting sound behind him.
“Hey! Let me go! You have the wrong kid-I mean, man! Wait, stop!” Ron exclaimed as he was dragged out into the lobby by the scruff of his shirt by a staff member. Remus immediately walked over as Ron was let go, concerned.
“Excuse me, what is the meaning of this?” Remus asked the employee. Harry cringed, facepalming as he saw Ron give him a panicked look.
Clearly, they had been ratted out for being too young to be in that theater they were in. Bollocks!
“Is this your son?” The manager asked. “He is my son’s friend. They are just here to see the movie ‘Cars’ for its 20th anniversary. What seems to be the problem?” Remus asked, completely ready to step in and defend them.
The manager gave both boys a stern look, making Harry squirm in his spot. ‘Oh, I’m in so much trouble.’ He thought with a grimace.
“Your son and his friend here were caught theater hopping in order to see an 18-rated horror film.” The man said.
Ron winced as Remus gave both boys a look, trying to confirm if what the man was saying was correct. “Harry, is this true?” Remus asked, turning and looking him in the eye.
Harry frowned, nervously playing with the bottom of his sweater. “Well…I-I umm…” He looked up at his father, then back towards his defeated best friend, and sighed. “Yes, dad. It’s true.” He said regretfully, now looking down at his feet.
Remus frowned. He then walked over and brought Harry to stand next to him. “Boys, what do you have to say for yourselves?” Remus asked.
Harry and Ron shared a guilty, regretful look. “We are sorry for theater hopping.” Harry said. “Yeah, we’ll never do it again.” Ron added.
The manager lectured them a bit more about why rating systems were important, and about how they were to never do anything like that again, or else they’d be properly banned from the building, permanently.
Both boys nodded and agreed that they understood. After apologizing for their misbehavior, Remus made sure to take the boys outside and call Ron’s father to explain the situation to him.
While this happened, Harry and Ron sulked next to each other on the outside bench. “I’m so sorry, Ron. I shouldn’t have ever even suggested we did this. I’m so dumb.” Harry said softly.
Ron gave Harry a sad smile. “Hey, come on. I played as big of a role in this as you did. I made the choice to go along with the plan, so…I guess that makes me just as dumb as you.” Ron teased lightly, playfully nudging him to try and cheer him up.
Harry chuckled quietly, happy to see that Ron wasn’t upset with him.
Unfortunately, the same could not be said for his father. Harry could tell that he was in for quite a stern talking to when they got home. Ron wasn’t going to fare much better, either.
After a stern, scolding Arthur Weasley came to pick Ron up and take him home, Harry and Remus made their way back to the car.
The ride home was silent. Well, almost. “I am very disappointed in you, son.” Remus said. Harry felt like the entire Earth had exploded into smithereens after hearing that. It was the worst feeling imaginable.
When they got home, Sirius looked confused as they both walked into the living room. He was expecting one, but not the other.
“Harry? What are you doing here? What happened with the movie?” Sirius asked.
Harry guiltily looked down at the carpet, unable to face his father. Remus cleared his throat, crossing his arms. “Your father asked you a question, Harry. Look at him and answer him.” He demanded firmly.
Harry took in a deep breath and then exhaled before sheepishly rubbing his arm and looking up at Sirius.
“I…I theater hopped with Ron to see another movie than the one we got tickets for.” Harry confessed.
Sirius snorted, rolling his eyes. “Really? Is that what this hullabaloo is all about?” He asked, looking over at Remus. “Surely, we’ve done that before as kids, Rem!” Sirius exclaimed.
Remus shook his head, his demeanor remaining firm and serious. “No, Siri. You did that. I recall being quite upset with you when you did, as well. Don’t you?” Remus asked, narrowing his eyes at his shorter husband. Sirius blushed and cleared his throat.
“Well, okay now that you mention it…but I still don’t think this is that big of a deal. I mean, what movie were you trying to see?” Sirius asked curiously.
“‘The Soul Stealer’.” Harry answered. Sirius’ eyes widened and his jaw dropped. If he had been sipping water, he’d have done a spit take all over the living room floors at that very moment.
“What?!?! Are you bloody joking?!?!” Sirius shouted. “That movie is scary enough to make a grown man like me terrified to sleep, let alone a twelve year old boy! What the hell were you thinking, lad?!” Sirius demanded sternly.
Harry sighed, frowning regretfully. “I know it was wrong, and I’m sorry. I just wanted to have some fun, I didn’t mean to-“ He was cut off.
“-To what, Harry? To get caught? Well, it’s too late now. You should have thought about that before theater hopping. I don’t believe we can trust you to hang out with your friends without adult supervision anymore.” Remus said.
Harry gasped. “But dad!” He exclaimed in protest. Remus shook his head. “Not until we believe you can handle it. You are also grounded for two weeks.” He said.
“Pa, tell him he’s being overdramatic! Please!” Harry exclaimed, looking up at Sirius for help. Sirius simply shook his head.
“You are barking up the wrong tree, son. I’m sorry, but you are not getting out of this one. You’re lucky we aren’t grounding you for a month.” Sirius said.
“This is so unfair! I didn’t even get to see the bloody movie, and yet I’m still being punished?!?! That is complete bull-OWW! OUCH! AH! OWW!” Harry yelped as he was turned over Remus’ hip while his bottom was peppered with rapid, stinging swats.
Once he delivered a few more, he stood Harry straight in front of him to look him in the eye, tilting his chin up.
“You will watch your language, you will accept your punishment, and you will wait for me in your room. Go. Right now, young man!” Remus demanded, pointing to the stairs with one hand.
Harry’s eyes dashed between his two fathers before he let out a frustrated huff and quickly ran upstairs, closing the door behind him and diving face first onto his bed.
Okay, so theater hopping had been a not so great idea afterall.
Remus sighed as he took a sip of tea from his mug, absentmindedly stirring the spoon as he pondered the thoughts running through his head. Sirius brought him over some biscuits in an attempt to cheer him up a bit.
“Are you alright, love?” Sirius asked softly, taking Remus’ hand in his and gently rubbing his thumb over the man’s skin.
Remus looked at his husband’s kind, empathetic face and frowned. “I am so disappointed that he would lie to my face like that. I mean, of course he’s told a few fibs in the past, but nothing like this!” He lamented.
“I just…I thought I was doing so well. What am I doing wrong?” Remus asked.
Sirius took Remus’s face in his hands, cupping his cheeks. “Hey, look at me Remus.” Sirius said softly. Remus looked at his sweet Sirius’ face.
“You are doing great. Both of us are doing the best we can to raise Harry, and I think we’ve done a pretty damn good job, all things considered.” Sirius started.
“Sometimes, Harry is going to push boundaries. Sometimes, he’s going to lie right to our faces like he did today. Sometimes, he’s going to learn the hard way rather than the easiest way, and that’s okay. You know why? Because we know how to do our job properly, which is to love him with all our hearts and discipline him accordingly when he forgets how to behave.” Sirius said.
“You are right, Sirius.” Remus said softly, earning a loving smile from his husband. “I am loathing having to go up there and spank him, but after what he pulled today, I cannot in good faith bring myself to let him get away with just a mere grounding.” Remus said.
“Do you want me to take care of it, my dear?” Sirius asked, tenderly stroking Remus’s hair. “I can spank him if you are not feeling up for it.” Sirius volunteered.
Remus shook his head. “No, no. I have to be the one who does this. I was the one who dropped him off and caught him in the lie.” Remus said, standing to his feet and loosening his tie.
Sirius watched as he rolled his sleeves up, internally wincing as he knew very well what painful fate was awaiting their son.
“So, just your palm, then?” He asked curiously, unsure if the man was planning on using any implements.
“Honestly, I was thinking about breaking out the old hardbacked slipper. I think I’ll stick with my hand, though.” Remus said.
It was more personal that way, and he wanted Harry to remember this on a personal level whenever he even thought about lying to him again.
“Perhaps I’ll use the ruler to finish up across his sit spots. That should deliver a mean sting.” Remus said, lifting an eyebrow at Sirius. “I’m sure you know all about that from our schooldays.” He smirked.
Sirius gasped dramatically, clutching where his pearls would have been, had he owned any.
“Remus Lupin! How dare you accuse me of such a thing! Maybe you are confusing me with you, as I know you certainly found yourself arse up getting spanked with a ruler on multiple occasions.” Sirius said, standing to his feet as well.
Remus playfully scoffed. “Not nearly as many times as you did, though.” He pointed out. Sirius opened his mouth to debate him, but closed it with a smirk. “Well played, Mr. Moony.” He said.
Remus wrapped his arms around Sirius and pulled him into a hug. “Thank you for the talk. I feel much better now.” He said. Sirius rubbed Remus’ back with a smile. “And for the biscuits?” He jokingly added.
Remus chuckled. “Yes, and for the biscuits.” He said. He placed a kiss to Sirius’s lips, cupping his cheek and resting his forehead against his when they eventually pulled away. “Unfortunately, I have something- rather, someone to attend to.” He said.
“I’ll get started on dinner.” Sirius said. Although overall Remus was the ‘better’ chef, Sirius’ food was still quite yummy…largely due to Remus teaching him how to cook.
There were quite a few similarities, though Sirius tended to add artistic liberties like adding certain spices and ingredients.
“You’ve got this, honey.” Sirius said, giving Remus’s hands one more encouraging squeeze.
Taking in a deep breath, Remus made his way upstairs to go see his wayward and disobedient son.
He knocked on the door to let Harry know that he was about to come in before opening it and entering the room.
Closing the door behind him, he saw Harry laying on his stomach with his face buried into his pillow. The boy had decided to change into his pajamas, knowing that he was in for the night.
Remus made a mental note to harden his heart, as this punishment was certainly going to be a quite thorough and emotional one.
He took a seat on the end of the bed, his demeanor calm yet firm. “Harry, come here.” Remus said.
Harry obediently, albeit slowly got to his feet and shuffled over to his father. He looked down at the floor, unable to meet Remus’ gaze as he stood in front of him.
Remus was not having it, though. He lifted Harry’s chin, forcing eye contact with him. “What was going through your head when you decided that it was a good idea to not only lie to me, but also sneak into a movie you knew you were not old enough to be admitted into?” He asked.
Harry’s shoulders slumped, feeling tears already beginning to well in his eyes. “I-I don’t know, dad. I thought we’d be able to handle it since we are twelve now and not little kids anymore.” He said.
Remus frowned. “So, this was the way to prove that, then? Hm? Having to sneak around and not tell the truth? Having to get into trouble with your friend, which I know for a fact did not end well for Ron. Having to have the movie theater manager personally chastise you and threaten to ban you from the building if you ever are caught doing it again? Does all of that properly prove that you aren’t little kids anymore? Or did it do the opposite?” Remus asked.
Harry sniffled, his bottom lip quivering. “T-The opposite.” He responded softly. Remus felt his heart begin to break into tiny pieces as he watched his favorite boy get emotional. He knew he had to remain firm, though. So, he continued to push through.
“Harry Lupin-Potter, I am going to say this, and I’m only saying it once, so you had best heed my words. You are never to lie to my face, nor sneak into any areas you know you are not allowed to be in ever again. Do I make myself perfectly clear, young man?” Remus asked.
Harry nodded, a tear rolling down his cheek. “Yes, sir.” He said quietly. Remus sighed silently, holding out his hand.
“Very well. Glasses, please.” Remus said. Harry took off his glasses and neatly folded them before handing them to his father.
Remus preferred to set them aside during spankings so the boy could comfortably cry as much as he wanted to. It also forced the boy to reflect on his actions without any visual distractions.
After setting Harry’s glasses on his bedside dresser, Remus walked over to the boy’s desk and grabbed a wooden ruler. Smacking it against his hand a few times, he decided that it would do.
Harry visibly tensed up as he heard his dad test it out, his eyes widening. “Dad, please don’t use the ruler!” He exclaimed.
He couldn’t exactly see what the man was holding, as he was across the room and looked like a blur without his specs, but he could guess by the sound.
“You do not decide how your punishment is carried out, Harry.” Remus reminded him, though his tone wasn’t unkind.
Remus walked back over to his spot on Harry’s bed and set the ruler aside for now. He then patted his lap. “Come, pup. Let’s begin so we can finish.” Remus said.
Harry held in a whine, walking over to his father’s side. Remus made quick work of tugging down Harry’s pajama bottoms and his underwear before laying him over his large lap.
He wrapped an arm around the boy’s waist, holding him still. Then, he lifted his palm and landed it with a loud smack across Harry’s pale behind.
As expected, Harry yelped. Figuring this was a good strength to continue using, Remus proceeded to steadily spank the boy.
His palm was big, covering a large portion of Harry’s bum with each swat. Remus always made sure that he wasn’t spanking him too hard, as his werewolf strength gave him a physical advantage. He never went overboard, though.
Harry cried out in pain as his poor posterior was lit on fire, holding onto his father’s leg for support. “Oww! Ouch! I’m sorry, dad! Oww!” He yelped. “Good.” Remus said, his palm never ceasing.
“You should be. Your father and I raised you better than that, young man.” He said, earning a whimper from the boy across his knee.
Remus knew Harry felt bad, but that was the point. He needed him to know that this behavior would not be tolerated.
As the spanking continued, Remus took note of Harry’s bum turning pinker and pinker with each smack. “OUCH! Dad! OWWW, AAH! Please! OUCHH!” Harry cried out, kicking his legs.
Remus used one of his long legs to pin both of Harry’s, not missing a single beat as he continued. The loud sound of swats being landed rang throughout the entire house, with Sirius definitely being able to hear it from the kitchen downstairs.
Harry knew that Ron was most likely receiving the same treatment as him right now, which made him feel even worse about the situation.
Tears freely rolled down his face, falling onto the floor below. “I’ll n-never-OWW-do it again-OUCH-dad! I swear!” Harry bawled.
Remus let his hand do the talking, deafening his ears to Harry’s pleas. Right now, his main goal was teaching his son a lesson he won’t soon forget.
“I certainly hope not, pup. Otherwise, I’ll be making this spanking look like a walk in the park.” Remus promised, alternating between sides as he swatted.
Harry brokenly wept as his father turned his bottom a lovely shade of crimson. Observing his progress, Remus knew that the lesson was nearing its close.
So, taking in a steadying breath, he reached over and grabbed the ruler. Lifting his leg to get better access, Remus tapped the ruler against Harry’s sensitive under curve.
Harry let out a loud whine, knowing exactly what this meant. He knew he’d be squirming in his seat for a while after this part.
“Daddy, no! M’sorryyy! P-Please hiccup n-not there!” Harry begged, throwing a hand back to try and cover his tender bum. Remus gently took Harry’s hand, giving it a soft squeeze and holding it out of the way.
“We are almost through, darling. Just a few more with the ruler, then we can have a nice snuggle.” Remus said, gently rubbing the boy’s back for a moment.
Once Harry had settled down a bit, Remus lifted the ruler and began landing it across his sit spots.
Harry let out a loud wail, sobs pouring from his mouth as he helplessly laid there. All he could do was cry, take it, and hope that it would be over soon.
Remus delivered his promise to light Harry’s undercurve up, making sure that he’d think about this whenever he sat down.
It was unpleasant to say the least; the worst part of any spanking. However, it was necessary so Harry would at least think twice before doing anything like this again.
Harry went limp; whatever was left of the stubbornness had been completely spanked out of him. After his upper thighs and sit spots were reddened enough to match his bum, Remus practically threw the ruler aside and immediately scooped Harry up into his lap.
“Shhh, it’s alright my dear. You took that very well; it’s over now. Breathe, love. Shhh, sh sh shh…easy now. There’s a good lad…” Remus cooed.
Harry sobbed against his father’s chest, clinging to him for dear life. “I’m s-so sorry, daddy! I’m sorryyy!~” Harry bawled loudly.
Remus soothingly stroked the boy’s hair, rubbing his back and whispering sweet nothings to him.
“It’s alright, Harry. You are forgiven. It’s been taken care of, now. You were punished, and now it’s over.” Remus said.
“Match my breathing, lad. In, out. In, out. There you go, keep going. In, out…very good, pup.” Remus said as Harry slowly but surely evened out his breathing to match his.
Soon, Harry’s sobs had been reduced to the occasional sniffle and hiccup. Harry played with Remus’s shirt collar, both of them enjoying the silent comfort. Eventually, Harry found his voice and spoke. “May I have my glasses again?” He asked softly.
Remus smiled and nodded, standing the boy to his feet and gently fixing his clothes. “Of course.” He said, grabbing both a clean tissue and Harry’s glasses from his bedside dresser.
Remus thoroughly wiped Harry’s cheeks clean of tear streaks with the tissue before placing his glasses back on his face.
“As I said, you are grounded for two weeks. I expect this lesson to stick with you, son. Please, don’t make me have to punish you for this again.” Remus said, softly cupping Harry’s face with his hands.
Harry nodded. “Yes, sir.” He said. Remus placed a kiss on top of Harry’s forehead before wrapping an arm around his shoulders.
“Come along, then. Let’s go see what your father whipped up for us.” Remus said, leading the boy out of the room.
As expected, dinner was lovely. Remus was nice and allowed Harry to sit on a cushion at the table, though Sirius was not so nice while gloating about how his dish tasted better than Sirius’ original recipe.
“I’m just saying, you simply can't deny how much creamier and flavorful mine is.” Sirius said, taking another bite. “Mmmm!~ Isn’t that right, Harry?” Sirius asked the boy.
Both parents looked at him, waiting on his answer. Harry gave Sirius a sheepish smile, shaking his head.
“I’m sorry, pa. Dad’s taking the win on this one.” Harry said, though he did still thoroughly enjoy the meal. Remus laughed victoriously as Sirius’ jaw dropped in betrayal.
“Oh, you cheeky little brat!” Sirius exclaimed with a chuckle, reaching over and ruffling the boy’s hair, earning him a laugh.
“I will say your biscuits are superior to dad’s, though.” Harry said with a smirk, enjoying the chaos that was unfolding at the table.
“What?! Oh, that’s not true! He’s just saying that to make you feel better!” Remus exclaimed as Sirius shook his head. “No, no! He’s right! I was always better at baking than you! You never add enough sugar!” Sirius teased.
They all continued to eat dinner and make playful comments, enjoying each other’s presence.
Although none of them were perfect, they loved their delightful little family.
