Summary
A year after they finally got it right, Emily Prentiss has a life she didn’t expect to keep — a chief who loves her, an apartment in Arlington, a wall full of photographs of a life that finally feels like one. JJ is running a task force closing in on a trafficking network that won’t stop spreading. Emily is consulting with the BAU, putting away the ugly things she knows how to put away. They’re tired and rationed thin and good at what they do, and on the first night they’ve had together in two weeks, Emily lets herself believe she’s allowed to keep it.
The next morning, something arrives in their mail that only Emily can read.
